Early bird was so good. I enjoyed this course a lot. I wish we had a this kind of field with reasonable price in my home, ROK.

Good course. Great views of the city, and the sunset if you go for twilight. Got a great shot of the smoke screened Sunday from the California fires. Almost hard to believe this gem is right smack dab in the middle of the city

Clifton Park is a cool Golf Course in the heart of Baltimore! Not the hardest Course as most holes arent that far distance wise. But some holes are very hilly and have small greens. A few holes have the Baltimore skyline in the background which is really nice! Check it out if you get the opportunity.

I wouldnt go here at night & I have honestly never played golf here, but I live near by so my husband & I take our dog here every weekend for a long walk on the pretty grounds. Its well landscaped & if you go to the end of the golf course, near the Harford Rd & Erdman Ave intersection, there is a GORGEOUS garden with stone walkways, gazebos, stone patios, & TONS of beautiful flowers!! There are picnic tables to eat there & a few water fountains for those hot days!

The people who run this place are all really good, friendly folks who love golf. Several holes are bookended by rowhouses, Ive seen dirt bikes speed across the fairways, it all adds to the charm of Clifton. This is a true city course, with amazing views of the skyline on the 18th hole.It doesnt have the huge, immaculately manicured greens of Pine Ridge (Ive only played Muni courses lol) but it does have charm, some very fun holes and great golfers to chat and play with every time Ive gone.

This is my 2nd time playing Clifton park. The course is a mid-length park style course, bordered by a neighborhood and a fairly busy urban throughfare. To complete all 18 holes, you must cross several streets with varying levels of traffic. The respective nines are NOT in an out and back layout, so once you tee off, you arent back at the clubhouse until late on the back 9.The opening hole is a long uphill shot -depending on your tees, between 400 and 500 yards. From that point, everything else is makeable. Lol. Several holes have picturesque views, either of downtown Baltimore, the outer harbor (dundalk ports and key bridge), or of the course itself. Its certainly worth whipping out the camera phone and snapping a picture or two.As a 22 handicap with an average 220 yard carry (driver), I was able to bogey most holes, so the course is not particularly difficult. However, because of the very wet winter we have had, once the ball hit, it plugged. At hole #3 I started playing winter rules , clean and replace. There seems to be an issue with cart theft. One way to mitigate that threat is to 1) have someone in the cart at all times, 2) dont leave anything valuable (phone, wallet, rangefinder, etc) in the cart, and 3) take the key when you leave the cart to putt or chip.It sucks, but it sucks even more to have to walk back from hole 8 if your cart is taken. Youll enjoy Clifton park if you are a longish (or very accurate) hitter. Follow the advice of the course staff and keep your valuables and cart key with you at all times.Hit em straight!!!

Horrible course. Safer to walk than risk flipping out of the cart on the paths because of all the pot holes. Save the money and go a few more miles to a better neighborhood and nice course. Staff is also sketchy as well as neighborhood.

This course is, by a wide margin, my favorite track in and around Baltimore City. It is pretty humbling to play on the former estate of Johns Hopkins. The greens are always in excellent shape due to the mushroom soil that Johns Hopkins used to build his farm. The staff is very friendly and the pace of play is FAST! The course sets up well for my game - short and open, but there are some tricky holes that make you think. For the price (typically around $35 with a cart), this is the best value you will find in Maryland. Highly recommend!

Pleasant. Hadnt played there in several years. Good public facility to learn on. A variety of shot conditions to experience. Hilly, rolling terrain with plenty of trees and obstacles. Course management is vital to a great round. Cart paths leave much to be desired. It appears that the majority of the maintenance is focused on the greens. Things in need of repair 10 years ago still need attention.

GOLFERS BEWARE TEENAGE THUGS ALLOWED TO ROAM THE COURSE!Last Sunday our cart was stolen. The second occurrence that weekend. It would be helpful if management warns golfers since they will not take any preventative measures. Thanks to a frequent golfer at Clifton our clubs were recovered at a local pawn shop but NOT our personal items. This should never happen. Someone is going to get physically hurt one day. STAY ALERT YOU PLAY AT YOUR OWN RISK! NO WAY I’LL PLAY THERE AGAIN NOT EVEN A FREE ROUND!!!!!!

Golfing while Black still remains an issue on this public course. I believe diversity on the field of sports has the power to finally defeat racism. Golf is a gentlemans game, yelling down course is never appropriate. No one wants to be rushed while in play. If you want to play through, simply ask. But calling management and then hitting balls in the direction of my cart is where civility ends. After all, its everyones tax dollars that make it possible so that all residents can benefit from a manicured course and a relaxing outing with friends and family.

Im a regular at this course, but I will never be back after today. I was on 6th hole today and was approached and chased by four thug kids, one of which pulled a gun on me. Thankfully, I am safe and made it out ok. But today was my last straw. Its not worth risking your life to try and save a few bucks on a round of golf. To make matters worse, the BMGC (and course mgmt) dont seem to think theres a problem. Its gonna take someone to get hurt (or worse) for them to take real action and thats really sad.

Greens were ok, fairways were in horrid conditions. Price wasnt bad, but I can do better at Wetlands Golf Course for $3 more twilight. 18th hole had a nice view, but neighborhood kids ran onto the course and picked up our balls and carried them around with them. Granted its a city course, but didnt feel like I was on a golf course at times with the sounds of cars, honking, and the such with roads directly next to multiple holes. Cant say Ill be back.

BEWARE!This golf course is in the worst area possible. My dad and brother were approached and had all of their belongings and golf cart stolen. Staff at the golf course were not helpful at all. Refunded green fees do not even pay for half of the stolen items. Thankfully other golfers weren’t far behind! When I came to write this review, it appears it happened the day before as well.

Have been playing here for 10 years as well other city, county, and private golf courses. The fairways and greens are in great shape - greens much better than other courses. As ladies who play early in the morning, let me just say that weve beocme friends with the staff: Dianne, Bob, Joe...They treat us well and very fair - its a very friendly course for women (never have we felt that we were treated less than the male golfers because of our gender). The food at the clubhouse is tasty - look for Karen and Glenn! Certainly a big change since Mike the pro there took over. And yes, you can finish a round in less than 4 hrs and 30 mins...if someone is slow, just pick up the phone and call Mike. They keep pace of play there.

The Clifton Park Golf Course, built in 1915, is the first public golf course in Baltimore. Hole #1, directly adjacent to the Clifton Mansion provides a starting point for a panoramic journey through new and old Baltimore. From the first green, players can look south to the city skyline and Clifton Tower. You can imagine Johns Hopkins himself standing in the tower with his telescope, searching the horizon for one of his many merchant ships. With any luck, he could discern his personal flag from the others, hop in a carriage down to the harbor, and greet the captain, personally. To the distant east is the silhouette of the Francis Scott Key Bridge. A few blocks away, Baltimore City College High School (est. 1839 is perched on high; the “Castle on the Hill”.The golf course has beautifully maintained greens, well manicured fairways, and a delightful layout. Convenient, value priced and PGA managed, Clifton Park is a perfect answer to today’s fast paced, time-restricted lifestyle. It is an ideal natural resource, adding charm and value to the neighborhood; ecologically, socially, economically, and psychologically.mmdreyer, pga, head golf professionalClifton Park Golf Course 1915-2015
