Equal parts thought-provoking, fun and whimsical, the re-opened AVAM is a Baltimore treasure that everyone in the family can enjoy. Lots of interactive art, pieces from the Kinetic Sculpture Race and a unique museum store make it a great visit.

Wow and again say, Wow! This place was a lot of fun. The exhibits are great. Most are very thought-provoking. The cafe is wonderful. The gift shop is off-the-charts ridiculously fun and creative. Surprises await around every corner with this museum. I used a GroupOn and saved a little, but it is with it at full price.

An absolute must see if you like quirky and thought provoking art work. The animatronics display are to die for. This place brings the creativity and imagination of a kid and has artifacts that both kids and adults will enjoy. Extremely easy to get yourself lost in all the whimsical pieces. The admission prices are extremely reasonable and dont forget to check out the buildings nearby which house more art work.

Had a lovely time! I went for a school project to see the painted screens of Baltimore. The staff was friendly and helpful in pointing me in the right direction, since the screens were in a different building than I thought. There was a good mix of art that was fun, and art that was heavy and poignant.

Full of amazing automatons and statues that will keep you amused for ages - including a huge Divine moving statue (my favourite) and the famous Fifi (gigantic pink poodle). Price is included from your ticket purchased from the main American Visionary Art Museum which is located next door.

This is hands down my favorite museum! The stories of the art and the artists are more inspirational then the art itself. It is not always beautiful art, because lets face it, art speaks of life and life isnt always beautiful. But, it is art created out of passion and speaks to the heart, thoughts, and fun of the spectator.

The building on the AVAM grounds is a big, open three-story space with hanging exhibits and a number of (more or less) permanent art exhibits. We really miss the amusement park miniature with its model railroad/trolly setup. It was not working the last visit, so I hope it is being repaired. Also needing repairs are some of the wonderful mechanical motion sculptures on permanent display. Most have been motorized, but some are hand cranked, and sadly, five or six dont work at all

Such an awesome experience. The museum is decorated inside and out in a very creative way.The temporary exhibits are quite interesting. I love the idea of having a biography or an excerpt about the author right besides the art work; to know about the circumstances on how the art pieces were created can truly change the way you perceive each piece.Parking is public, mostly metered but theres enough all around.I overheard the second building can be rented for social events, which is really cool.

Truly fantastic; For me this was so much more interesting than a visit to museums that house historical or traditional artwork. There was a lot of very accessible and relatable art that moved me in ways I didnt expect. I think the best way I could say it is that the whole place exuded the ideas that art is fun and natural; It is unpretentious, which I greatly appreciate.

Beautiful space. Attended a wedding ceremony and the reception on their 3rd floor. Lots of contemporary art work and full of lively colors and decor. The museum feels like a living work-in-progress and all installments seem to scream interaction. Great venue for large gatherings but situated just outside the main Inner Harbor radius so not a lot of foot traffic.
