I booked a trip with some friends as an amateur fisherman with not a lot of experience. The captain of the ship was an expert at finding the fish. The first time I dropped the hook into the water I caught a big striped bass. I got very excited and didn’t really know what to do next. The crew guided me along and assisted me with bringing the fish aboard. They also fillet the fish for you at no additional charge. What a fun experience!

Definitely more of a tourist boat ride as opposed to a serious fishing charter. Competitors in the same marina are coming back with hundreds of more fish a day than Island Princess. It seems like Captain doesn’t even use a fish finder, since a boat with 12-15 people caught 4 fish in 4 hours. Don’t waste your money.

The IP was fantastic. They actually comply with current COVID regs, distancing everyone onboard. The mates were great. Very helpful. The bathroom was very clean and stocked, unlike other Captree boats I have been on. Great trip.

I cannot say enough about the crew tonight!! I took my 2 boys Justin and Hunter for their first fishing trip! The deck hands gave them such a wonderful experience and made their night much nicer! We thank you so very much and will definitely be back again with the crew and their awesome captain! My boys got to sound off the horns for the end of the night!

Can’t express how much fun my boyfriend and I had last trip! The crew is funny and quick to help and Capt. Bryan knows all the best spots to fish. Would 100% recommend this boat to anyone and everyone! Can’t wait for our next trip :)

I don’t know about fluke but this caption doesn’t know what he’s doing when diamond Jigging for stripe. Leaves spot every 5 minutes. Go to lazy bones in Montauk instead

Im writing this review at my husbands request because he is totally blind and has trouble navigating these things. Jim Puchta says, I have been fishing on the Island Princess for nearly as long as there has been an Island Princess. The experience is always wonderful and has helped me to decompress during stressful times. Captain Brian and his staff are wonderful, and even if I dont go home with a fish, its always a successful trip for me. I cant praise this boat enough!

You cannot ask for a better experience if you are looking for an outstanding day out on the water. This was my 3rd trip of the summer with my 6 year old on the IP and I continue to be overly impressed.Captain Bryan is a pleasure to deal with and always does all he can to find the big fish. The Crew on board is first class. From teaching my son how to properly use the equipment to being helpful at the rail at the drop of a hat. The experience is always top notch. On a good day like today every one left with filets! Heck of a job by Kevin by the way. Had to be at least 25 keepers to filet. I would recommend this boat to anyone looking and hands down the best boat I have been on at Captree.

This staff was great very helpful but every spot we went to seemed like the fish was leaving a couple of keepers was caught though out the boat

One of the worst fishing trips I have ever been on..the mates had attitudes not really helpful..few drifts into the trip my line got caught n took all my spool till nothing left..i asked if they would respool for me since the captain started to move till everyones line was up n I got a stern no..also went back n forth to same spot over n over n nothing..also captain had no personality at all..didnt talk to customers on the boat at all n seemed more bothered then interested in the people on the boat..stay away spend your money elsewhere..

Horrible trip 1 hour driving out 2 hours worth of fishing sat near docks where no fish We’re came back 30 mins early and the whole boat only caught 4 fish and 2 fish were from the people that worked there and captain doesn’t know how to drive and hit the wooden poles going into dock they don’t even provide live bait and u pay 60$ For the trip so brought 3 types of live bait and still didn’t catch anythingCaptain was just horribleWorst of my life expernice will never come back

Went on the 7/12, 12pm Fluke with my husband and I must say I had an amazing time. The boat was very clean, the staff extremely helpful and the Captain went out of his way to find the spots for us to catch the Flukes. Will go again and I HIGHLY recommend.

Memorial day 2019, called. At 6:01 pm on the 24th to check availability and ask about Stripper fishing. ( my sister and I do not like Bluefish) Captain told me they were killing them the last couple of days .I specifically ask if they were going memorial day (night) he said yes 6-10 pm. I took my sister and nephew to go bass fishing . Only to find out after I paid .They havent caught strippers for some time. I was trick into the trip and paid $150 for a trip I didnt want to go on. The captain lied to me .I do find it hard that I was mistaken. I have the phone record to prove I called Your boat I am going to send it to your email .so you can see it . I called your number twice! I specifically asked for bass. I dont go on charters for blues .I can do that on my boat. Please check your email and get back to me . Ty

I personally think this is one of the best boats Ive been on. Bay was dried up so the captain took us out to the ocean for sea bass and boy were they biting . Brought home limits and still had enough to make sure everyone had something to bring home. Excellent and helpful crew, will sail with then again in the future!

Great trip last night. My daughter and I had a blast. She is 8 years old and the crew patiently showed her how to use the rod and reel. They were very helpful and courteous. It was a slow start, but Captain Jimmy found the fish. Very family friendly (and clean) boat. We will be back again real soon.

What a great way to spend the morning with my family. Captain Bryan is really nice and I cant say enough about the crew, they were so helpful, whether it was helping me put bait on the hook or untangling my lines, there was always a crew member around to help. The crew, the boat, the people who come on the boat and the atmosphere is why I will always keep going back to the IP. Captain Bryan is one of the best captains out there and works hard to find the fish for his customers. It’s never a bad trip when you go on this boat. I have not been fishing for a long time and I was honestly a bit nervous as I didnt recall any of the fishing skills from my childhood. The crew of the IP were fantastic. They made the entire voyage seamless. They were happy and actually excited to show me how to fish again. I was baiting my hook and casting my rod like a pro in no time.I actually caught 3 fish!! One was large enough to keep. And what an amazing dinner we had that night.The boat. Wow. Super clean, gigantic and comfortable. I cant wait for my next fishing trip and it will definitely be on the Island Princess.

I think it was a great boat ride. But out of ten people, not one caught a fish. Still had a great time though. Out there today and saw a bunch of people catching fish on that same boat so maybe it was just a rough night.

Been fishing out of captree for years, been on almost every boat. First time on Island Princess and I was extremely impressed with the attention crew gave us and the Captain was great, you could see he wanted us to catch some fish. Caught about 5 small Fluke no keepers for us, but we were CATCHING Few people caught big monsters. Lots of funCant wait to go fishing on Island Princess again.See ya

Worst boat ever. been going on these charters for 25 yrs and this boat was the worst experience i have ever had. first off they over filled the boat. then the crew reassigned our spot to another group. there were tangles constantly which made it impossible to fish. also, the poles are old and crappy and have no line guards, so the reel butterflys very easily. my girlfriend had a particularly bad reel and the deckhand was extreemly rude to her and kept saying it was user error and blamed her. finally, unlike other boats that try different spots this boat just did the same drift over and over even though no one was catching anything. horrible experience. waste of money. never taking this boat again.

Great boat, great crew. Professional, knowledgeable and they find the fish! The boat is clean, updated and large enough to handle choppy waves for those concerned about seasickness. Fish on a weekday to avoid the crowds.
