This is a wonderful place; However, it is almost always closed. It has been closed since the Ranch2 fire. There has been no fire around the park for quite a long time. Route 39 has also been open for quite a long time. This park is still closed as of today. Does anyone know why?

Good hike with a serene sound of water. Trail is fine for kids and not so active individuals. Enjoy the view!

Great walk, not challenging at all. Some nice views of the canyon and river as well. Brought my dog here but he got tired quickly due to the heat. Bring plenty of water if youre coming here during a hot summer day.

This is one of the least appreciated places near the cities. Im an immigrant looking for nature and I find this place mesmerizing with canyons and clear water rivers. It makes me sad and angry to see how irresponsible people makes out of this river their trash recovery place. I mean, what do they have in their brains? Is this a normal behavior? These uncivilized people put a bad name on decent immigrants that comes to this country to enjoy freedom and share its incredible wilderness beauty. I will never understand this type of ignorance.

Its nice. Not a hard hike at all. Not alot of shade til you get to the end. Thats where you can really touch the water. One is not allowed in. I wouldnt recommend it either. Water current can get strong and there is a $1500 fine.

Hike is a little shorter than you might expect what with how inviting the river and the mountains are - you can walk through and get back in a little over an hour. You get to a big tree with a swing over a part of the river that seems somewhat deep (I would hope at least), then after that the trails thins out quite a bit.Views are unsurprisingly beautiful, and theres also a few Buddhist statues you can make out in the distance (I guess one of the trails neighbors is a modest temple). Solid.

We when to the river this weekend we had a great time, the only bad side was the amount of trash that we found all over the place, people comes with food and leave their Trask in small bag where nobody will pick it up , if you go there make sure bring big plastic bag and leave your area clean

This place has been a sanctuary for me since i was a young girl. If you choose to visit , PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE pick up after yourselves & take care of the restrooms.. It saddens me what people do to such a beautiful place.

We buy 2 vehicle adventure passes every year, Azusa is beautiful, Ive been coming here since I was little, but people need to learn how to pick up their trash. They sure as heck enjoy coming out to the river, but they dont like picking up their trash after they enjoyed their day, HELLO thats why there is trash cans along the river especially by the picnick areas!!! They should give those people fines and never allow them back.

Easy walk/hike for the elderly or children on flat ground. Very little elevation changes. About a 30 min walk to the water and thats at a slow pace. Cool in the winter time, warmer in the summer as there is no shade along the path. Bring water. Enjoy.

When I was a young kid about 14 years old, we used to go to the big park up Azusa Ave. We would hike up the canyon and we would always go to an old cabin called Hal Jacks place. Im just wondering if the people running this organization would know of an old cabin up the canyon in the late 60s. Any help would be appreciated...

Havent been here for years due to the over crowding. Went late in the day on a Sunday. Still over crowded people illegally having cooking fires. Saw a family illegally shoveling river dirt into plastic bags to take home for their plants. Tried to explain to them this was a Federal National Monument and you are not allowed to take things out of the environment, but they just laughed and kept telling me its ok. Just more ignorant people destroying the National forest for their own pleasure.

This is a good parking place to bike up CA 39. Parking is free and doesnt require a wilderness pass. As of summer 2019 theres a pretty dirty Porta potty. Arrived at 7am without anyone else there. Left around 3 pm with a nearly empty parking lot still. Theres not much in the way of water access, however.

Im giving this 2 stars...I was wanting to photograph around water, and so looking at the map, I saw this location. Directed my friend to meet me here. We arrive, and find that you cannot access the river, or you will face a $1,000 fine or time in prison. Perhaps this should be listed as a TRAILHEAD. At least, I think there is a trail here. We left seeking water

Amazing short hike with the river (brook) beside all the way, very clean and lovely hiking accompany. But the trail looks ends up a little after where the small water dan is, can not believe this wildness park has a trail of only one mile one-way, maybe we did not go deep enough? Not any sign by the trail to guide us further so we turned around.
