Was able to take my wife on a rifle elk hunt, and couldn’t have been more happy with our hunt. From the moment we arrived every piece of the puzzle was accounted for. My family and I have hunted with Chris and Compass West Outfitters several times and each experience was superior! On a youth bull elk hunt, my daughter harvested a big, old, 5x6 herd bull on the third day of her hunt. The guides knew the unit like the back of their hands and we were in elk nearly all day, every day.The next year my son drew a muzzleloader tag and although it was later in the season than our previous hunt, the guides once again had us in bugling elk all day. He sealed the deal on his first ever bull elk, and was hooked for life.Hunting aside, the outfit is second to none. The food is excellent, and all of the accommodations are superior for a classic wall tent elk camp. I’ve had the fortune of hunting many species across the west for many years. None of my guided hunting experiences have come close to those i’ve had repeatedly with Chris and all of the guides at Compass West.
