The short ascent to the peak of Monument Hill is challenging because of the loose rocks. It’s a great workout going up and circling back down.Monument Hill is also known as Rattlesnake Hill because of, you guessed it, all the rattlesnake population, particularly in the summer months.The view of the Valley is exceptional as is the historical marker at the peak and the view of Phoenix Raceway.The parking lot at the entrance is a bit seedy and littered.

Best place to watch the race! All the freedom to roam around with all the luxuries of concessions and port-a-potties! Bring whatever you need to be comfortable on a mountainside. Shade is necessary for survival so a hat, umbrella, canopy, anything to keep the direct sun off your noggin! Its loud loud loud so earplugs help. A hillside ticket will only allow you access to the hillside, however a grandstand ticket allows you access to both the grandstands and hillside so dump off your stuff on the hillside then go check out all the cool things to see and do within the grandstand area. No one will bother your stuff while youre gone! It just doesnt get any better! Youll probably meet some really cool people too! Hillside is like family! It is definately the only hillside on the Nascar circuit...check it out! Nascar races two weekends a year here...March and November.
