Hot, clean, City water.Good, strong flowing showers.Perfect for the homeless individual in need of a bit of humanity.I was one of them fortunately, found work, maintaining the work still, and now housed since January 7th this year.Austin recreation center has heart.

This is a family friendly environment. Non violent and just overall chill.

The atmosphere is very lively with lots of people playing around different sports.Theres an fee of $5 for ppl playing badminton in the Wednesdays.Has a big parking lot and a huge ground for skating.The recreation center is open until 10pm

I wish they can allocate more time for badminton. Currently its only several hours on Wednesday, and there are always around 30 - 40 people trying to share 3 courts. You can imagine there is not much time for everyone. The entrance fee is $5, the facility is clean, and the staffs I encountered are nice!

Ive only been here twice. I love that the front desk clerks are kind and inviting. Shower room was defitnely clean.

They are all great people, and I enjoy taking a shower there.

Friendly wonderful desk lady, seemed clean, well kept and the shower room has lockers to lock your bag/clothes up (bring your own lock of course). All in all a great resource

Its a cool place to work out at, and enjoy a sports type environment as well as great staff that work there.

I practice yoga with Jerry at the rec center and it’s great facility.There are so many props, from split bricks to cushions to chairs to the bar on the wall.It’s not a fancy glamorous studio but it’s exactly what I needed to get deeper into my practice. I highly recommend at least checking out one class here with Jerry.

Got a shower and the staff were kind be and I enjoyed having basic facilities to take care of my personal hygiene needs

Austin is horribly sticky and hot in the summer, so I was beyond relieved to find that this place had free use showers. What a life saver!

Under rated basketball court in my opinion because its massive well kept has cold water and a work out for free. Private showers. Its located next to house park BBQ

THEY MAKE YOU FEEL LIKE A HOMELESS CRACKHEAD WHEN YOU BEG THEM TO TAKE A SHOWER WHEN THEY ARE CLEANING.

Great place to work out or play basketball yoga ECT. Theres also a skater park next door!!! Staff is friendly ,helpful, and courteous. P.S theres no charge for membership!!!

They have showers here for the public to use. They also have lots of events & classes here such as karate, yoga, arobics, A baseball feild, etc. Near a barbeque joint & whole foods.There is also a skateboarding park right in front of here across the parking lot & across the street from shoal creek hike & bike trails!

Really nice inside for a free place to exercise! I am not a fan of their elliptical equipment as it is different than the types I have used before but having access to restrooms, a weight room and classes they offer - Awesome!

I cant thank this place enough for the shower I get. Their always kind and I never feel ashamed because of my situation.

Its not Golds gym but for a free workout its great. Very nice people that run it.

Edit: indefinitely closed and off limits to taxpayers.The manager is nice and the facility is getting cleaner.It has a room for impromptu yoga and stretching as well as basic weights and bikes.

The facilities are a bit run down but I go there for 1 reason....to Jazzercise. This is not some old-lady aerobics class. Its 45 minutes of intense cardio to current hits like the Black Eyed Peas, Rhianna, Beyonce and then 15 minutes of strength training using weights. If you arent tired after this class, you arent really trying.
