Having attended several operas and symphony performances here, I can attest that the Dell Hall in the Long Center has great acoustics and good sight lines. That is important. The seats are comfortable and the interior is stylish. There is a parking garage providing easy access in and out. There is not a sweeping lobby but there is a large outdoor plaza. This is not ideal in Texas. Sorry, but it is too hot most of the year to both dress up and wait outdoors. The exterior is nothing too grand or daring but the location setting is rather attractive. One criticism is the ubiquitous audience standing ovations. If the performances are truly that worthy of standing then the curtain calls and bravo shouts should last for 15 minutes or more and we should all rush the stage after such performances.

I also find the seating and layout of the venue very friendly for quickly seating and emptying the hall.they also have a varied and diverse programming that goes on thereand I always look forward to seeing what they are going to be hosting next.Definitely one of my favorite places in Austin.

Dirty facility that smelled like urine in areas and sewage in other areas. Extremely uncomfortable seating. EXTREMELY OVER PRICED for what you are getting. I would use/rent any other place in Austin EXCEPT this facility. Or just go to Dallas. I will hold all of my events at other locations for now on. Not to mention the Director of sales was terribly hard to work with and rude. Never have I ever been so insulted or treated the way she treated and spoke to me. Horrible, horrible woman to work with.

Nice venue. Have to date been twice -we saw the Nutcracker as well as a performance by the symphony and loved both. The seats are comfortable, the ushers were all very helpful and friendly, the bar is easy and accessible, and the auditorium itself just big enough where I honestly dont think there is a bad seat in the whole place. We sat pretty close at both and were impressed at everything- the acoustics were fantastic. Its beautiful at night overlooking downtown with the skyline view of Austin. Perfect location - valet could be a little quicker... sorry!!!

Oh, Google, youre mistaken, i wasnt at auditorium shores, i was stuck in traffic for so long due to road construction that you THOUGHT i was at auditorium shores! LOL, But i digress, for all the newcomers, auditorium shores IS and will always be fantastic! Centrally located in the downtown district, they have creative events and movie screenings, and, located just blocks away from 6th street, the State Capitol and Congress, your day at auditorium shores might end at Home Slice Pizza and the Continental Club, both of which I Highly recommend! :D

I havent gone inside The Long Center for the Performing Arts, but the area is still a great place to visit. Theres a beautiful view of the city skyline from The Long Center, and an even better one if you want to walk up to the river bank. Its close to a wide field which sometimes hosts performances as well, but when its not being used to host a stage, people often bring their dogs and hang out or play casual sports.

The Long Center is a gorgeous venue on auditorium shores. It hosts some great shows. But if you heckle or disrupt a show, nothing happens. If youre so disruptive that the entire audience shouts for you to go away, the staff wont do anything. Even if youre recording a show on your phone after doing that, nah. Staff doesnt mind. This is something the Alamo Drafthouse does regularly, but of all places the Long Center puts up with it? What is the point of having police and ushers in the building if they cant tell someone to stop interrupting the show with literal slurs?

The long center itself is wonderful! The auditorium is beautiful and the several shows Ive seen there have all been well done. They often have themed drink selections and the staff is very helpful for finding seats or anything else. If I could give 4.5 stars,I would. The only reason I knocked off a star is that getting into and out of the parking garage is a nightmare if its busy. Just figuring out how to get in the single file line gives me anxiety, not to mention having to wait in it for a long time. I know now to go early, but its still anxiety producing every time.

My biggest complaint is the insane amount of time it takes to get in and out of the parking garage for Austin Symphony events. The venue itself is very nice though. It is super easy to find your seats and they staff is very understanding and accommodating. Pro tip for anyone coming for the first time: show up 45 minutes early. The line to get into the parking garage can take a long time. When leaving, either head out 10 minutes before the end of your show or go wait it out at a bar before you try to drive back out of the garage. Weve been stuck in the parking garage for about 45 minutes to an hour just trying to back out after an event.

The Long Center of Austin is without a doubt, a work of art and a place of enjoyment for the people of Austin. The location of the building overlooks the beauty of Austin while the interior is awe-inspiring. While the parking lot is conveniently located, a helpful tip would be to back your vehicle into the slot when parking to leave easier after the performance. There is no bad seat in the house and the staff of the Long Center are extremely helpful and courteous. Whether you are visiting for a theatrical debut, a comedians schtick, or even to take in a movie on the lawn, you will not be disappointed.
