Who knew this even existed? A Shakespeare theater in Austin! Loved it. What a place next to Lady Bird Lake. Make sure to spread the word. Schools should come. Anyone that loves the classics should attend.

This is an intimate space to see live theatre in a historic space. Classic 3/4 thrust stage means you can see actors and they can see you. That said:1) dress for the elements (sweater and bug spray in the fall, hand fan in the spring, seating is covered so most rain is OK2) seatbacks are usually rentable for $1, or you can bring your own3) BYOB or a picnic if youre smart

Glenda ... this facility is not off of Lady Bird Lake. It is adjacent to Coldwater Creek off of Lake Austin. which is the reservoir directly upstream of Lady Bird Lake on the Colorado River.

A theater built in the style of Shakespeares Globe theater. If you are a Shakespeare purist, or if you just want to see a fun play in a unique setting, this is the place.Be aware, this is not a modern theater. The seats are wooden benches. Its outdoors so no air conditioning. There is a roof over your head but its best in nice weather. There is a small selection of beverages available in cans and a few other items. But dont let that scare you off; just plan like you would for a concert or play in the park. Come prepared for an unusual experience and be adaptable. The plays are mostly put on by The Barons Men, so look them up to find tickets.

The most amazing Shakespearean experience. The Curtain is a smaller replica of the Globe Theatre and the Barons Men are an amazing troupe. Shakespeare is so wordy in his writing that many troupes dont really understand how to say the lines, they just spit them out. The Barons Men do an amazing job with performing the plays as they are meant to be done and the Curtain is the perfect place to watch. Bring your food, drinks, a pillow to sit on (or rent a seat back for $1), bug spray, and your imagination. Probably some tissues too, because Shakespeare.

Modeled after The Globe theatre, this venue hosts shows in the Elizabethan style, which, for one, means the audience is encouraged to interact with the characters on stage. Cheer them on, boo them, whatever your heart desires. Seats are sold as general admission and you have three levels: ground (stage is at eye level), stage level, and mezzanine. Seats are covered. Its BYOB and food; excellent! Situated right along the lakefront of Lake Austin, youll be greeted by friendly mosquitoes, but the torches throughout the property help, and set an ambiance second to none. The Curtain makes seeing Shakespeare or the likes a great deal of fun, even if youre not into Shakespeare. Highly recommend. Family-friendly, date-friendly, GNO friendly, handicap accessible, all are warmly received. Tickets run about 15 bucks. Go!

The theater is amazing, it feels like you are part of the show! I saw Volpone by the Resurgens Theatre Company and it was excellent!!! I came as part of a class assignment but LOVED IT! (I am writing this of my own free will, not part of the assignment) I am writing this review in hopes the actors and the owner of this wonderful spot will know how great it was!!!
