This is my favorite music venue!! It is so intimate - the last row isnt that far from the stage. On top of that, the seats are comfortable & theres legroom - sorry, Paramount! :)

Great venue, and the seats are comfortable. Bringing glamour, pizazz, and a large audience to locally produced art is important. Stateside does those things, and does them best.Connected to the Paramount and perhaps overshadowed by it, Stateside regularly hosts Austins own B. Iden Payne awards, essentially the local Tonys. As if playing host to the top theatrical accolade In Austin didnt tell you, this place is very expensive, unfortunately. That doesnt make it a bad bet though.Because its always possible for something to be overpriced and still be stunning - or even over priced and worth it - and an evening at the Stateside does not disappoint. With drinks in the $8 - $12 dollar range, the superior quality of your drunkenness will hopefully make you feel better about all that money youre spending. The high proscenium arch tickles a sense of awe in the theatre, but the venue is still surprisingly intimate for a space so large.Truly great place, and an important part of local art and history. Would absolutely come again.

Intimate theater setting for film or live shows.

Went here for the Theo Von performance. They could definitely replace the seats here soon. One of the isle attendants said they were going to start that process at some point but gave no indication of when.

Very intimate venue. Perfect venue for the show I went to see (live podcast).

The venue is good enough for movies. Popcorn can use some work. Too salty.

This is a smaller theater right next to the Paramount. They offer a wide range of different shows and performances. The staff is also very friendly.

Had the most wonderful time with wife watching Pulp Fiction. Theater was clean and comfortable with attentive staff.

I am always very enthusiastic about getting to go to an event here. It feels much more cozy than the Paramount, and even sitting far in the back doesnt seem so bad. Its basically the same set up as the Paramount, but with only one level of seating vs the 3. All the chairs are very comfortable and make you feel at home no matter what you are watching. So do yourself a favor and go see something here.

The interior is modern, not historically restored, but the seating was comfortable.

House manager is rude, passive aggressive, and elitist in her attitude when interacting with paying customers. Needs to be fired and replaced.

Old piece of Austin, you cant go wrong here. For shows , movies, honoring new stars.

Although, not as charming as the Paramount, I still enjoyed my fist experience there seeing the Intergalatic Nemesis. All of the attendants were pleasant and had no problems assisting us when searching for our seats. I cant really comment on the audio/visual system since we were there seeing performance art (side note: it was really good). I will have to update my review after I get to see a few more shows here.

Really a great venue! Its beautiful, the acoustics are phenomenal and theres really not a bad seat in the house...Wengo every year for the Moontower Comedy Festival and it never disappoints.

Nice, classic place. No food, DIY drinks service. Pleasant atmosphere.

Love this venue. Anywhere you sit is a good seat.

Its a cozy smaller theater than paramount. We went there for a afternoon show on Sunday. Drinks are quite reasonable- $9 to $12 for a cup of wine or beer.

Good theater show stage ... Vintage place down town. Parking is of concern. Drive, pay for quality parking. Worth it.
