We love going. Thought going to the movie theater experience is going to change due to covid-19, but the staff was amazing, the movie was amazing and we honestly had a very good time.
Galaxy Highland is an Austin hidden gem. This has always been my favorite movie theater in Austin, but now especially since the remodel, this theater is the best. Added bonus: 512 IPA on tap! Great service, comfy chairs, good beer and wine selection. I also highly recommend checking out the Flashback Cinema options.
Hands down one of the best movie going experiences I have ever had!! Especially during the Covid, they made sure they took all the precautions.But what made it even more interesting was my interaction with the manager, Richard. Having travelled all the way from LA to watch Christopher Nolans Tenet on 70mm, a chat with Richard, and tour of the 70mm projector is precisely what my friend and me needed before watching Mr. Nolans time-bending masterpiece. Have to respect Richard, for being an avid cinephile, and respecting filmmaking and the filmmakers vision, by being one of the 4 theatres in the entire country to screen Tenet in 70mm.If you do watch a movie here, and are a true movie fanatic like me, I can assure you you wouldnt mind getting there a bit early to have a pre-movie chat with Richard.Thanks Richard & Galaxy Theatres!! ️
Really nice, quiet and clean! Seats were very comfortable and the employees were very friendly.
We were so excited to be able to go to the movies now that theaters are opening up again and this location was great. It was clean, the food was fresh and they did an excellent job of spacing the seating in between movie goers. We felt really safe and it was an excellent night. We cant wait to go back!

Seats were great! Was able to find diet friendly beverages. They have cool kids for their popcorn so you can flavor some of it and leave some plain. Or so you can shake it up! Very clean. Hospitable staff.
The place is tucked away right off I35 and 290 so it makes for a more cozy theater setting. The seats were the best I have sat in Austin. The reason for the four stars was there was black thin screens on both sides of the projector screen blocking me from seeing the full wide screen. I hope in the future this theater could add more food to their concessions.
Best theatre in the area. Serves beer, wine and food. Assigned luxury reclining seats. Seriously dont waste your money by going somewhere else. Best kept neighborhood secret. I love this place!
Who charges an adult ticket for an infant? This theater is doing way too much and is way to raggedy, old and out dated to think they can over charge people. You can get much better service, nicer theater and better seating elsewhere and not pay inflated prices for less quality. We definitely will never come back here and I will most definitely tell everyone I know with babies that they are charging adult price tickets for infants and babies so they can avoid giving these price gougers any of their business. Would never recommend this old whole in the wall to anyone, Tinseltown is much nicer, less expensive and family friendly.
Nice little theater in its own corner of the world. Went to see a late night premiere and it was basically empty. Hope it stays this way for a while. However the construction boom near it mean that wont be the case in at least 1 to 2 years.

Recently redone. Custom seats, some come with motion synchronized to the movie. I do wish they had snacks better than the standard movie fare. Overall a better than average theater experience. Great staff.
Love this theatre! Close to Mueller/Central Austin. New reclining seats are so much better than all others in Austin theatres- thesd are actually super comfortable even for shorter people. DBOX SEATS are available too which is nice when you want to feel the action (truly an experience when watching Ford vs. Ferrari). Snack bar options are great. Love all the optional toppings and optional sausages for hot dogs. Draft beer. Real lemonade. Cookies. Best people. Bathrooms may be dated BUT I actually like that too. Nice when a place has some history because it has been here longer. Small. Convenient. Perfect.
Very nice since the renovation! They have a full menu including beer and wine. The seats are super comfy and they are adjustable. Very well ran establishment with excellent management!
No complaints. Parking is good, place is clean. Assigned seating, recliner seats, bar with wine, canned cocktails, champagne, and draft beer. One of the few places you can just walk up and buy your ticket 10 mins before the movie rather than having to reserve online. My go to theater

Theater was great, the seats were comfortable. My only issue with it, was we were their for the very last showing it wasnt very busy, but the bathrooms were disgusting. I dont think anyone remembers how to flush a toilet anymore.
When you first walk into the movie theater its is cleaned which is a good sign. Was not a long wait time to purchase our tickets. They do allow student discounts and matinee prices.They have Red leather recliner seats with leather headrests to protect the seats. Inside the theater room was cleaned with no trash on the floor.Popcorn was really good not too much salt and icee was on point.

Although you might feel like youre going to get robbed in the parking lot, the true robbery is rather peaceful as you look a panda-eyed teenager in the face with $30 exchanging hands. What did you win? Two small popcorns, a snack size m&m, and a apple juice.Yes...I know thats par the course at theatres these days but I mean at least make me feel special about it.The staff was really friendly and they even had Batman & Harley Quinn there for the Batman Lego show. Thats how they landed the two stars you see above.The sound was decent but I felt like I was sitting in a nursing home or someones grandmothers house it was so warm in there. I was literally spacing out my laughter so I didnt overheat. I mean at least pass out some church fans or have the $10 small popcorn fold in to some kind of relief.My daughter enjoyed it so thats all that really counts but I wont be back.
They do like a summer movies club and play a lot of throw back movies during that span as well as a lot of kid movies. The staff are always professional you cannot order from your seat which is a bummer but the prices arent high either. And if you sign up for there galaxy reward program you get a lot of incentives and perks all year long (ex: free movie on your birthday, random points, secret screenings etc)
Wow! Love this place! Super comfortable seats that recline and have trays with cup holders. D-Box seating also. Good selection of beer and wine at the concession stand. My visually impaired friend was able to get descriptive service headphones.
First time at this theater. We went and saw Ready or Not. Kind of a humorous horror/thriller. Not bad, but not great. The theater though was awesome. The seats are the best Ive been in. They envelope you and fully recline. The theater was clean, picture was clear and sound system was amazing. The lobby was clean, roomy and nice. As with all theaters the consession stand was over priced. The movie itself was a matinee but was still $10 a ticket. That seems a bit high. Over all this is a very nice movie theater that I can highly recommend.
This theater has gone thru a renovation since the last time my wife and I were there . I really liked the new seating. It is a nice layout with great views of the screen without it being blocked by the row in front. Every row has its own level with a barrier that separates each row. Very nice. Major difference front what they had before.
Cheap and good movies. The seats are super comfy and there is rarely anyone there which is good for a quiet afternoon at a movie
The movie was great. It is close to where I live. I love going to the movies here. The snacks are great. I will visit here often when I find a movie I want to see. Loved the Star Wars movie very much.
Comfy seats, sound was good. The blue lights that highlight the seat control were annoying after the movie started. Would be nice if they were dimmer.

Nice theater, similar seating arrangements to an alamo, only they do concession stand style theater snacks and drinks instead of seated service. The seats recline here via electric switch, and it can make for a rather comfortable movie. Just try not to fall asleep!

Ive been going here for a long time and theyve only made improvements to the theater. The staff is so friendly that me and a friend got to see another movie after our movie for free on multiple occasions. Its just a great place overall and has a positive vibe.

My adult age son with autism was attending the movie with a blind friend. They were excited to be going to the movies on their own. Little did they know, the Galaxy Highland employees were watching over them, making sure they were safe and had everything they needed. Thank you Galaxy Highland. You are awesome!
So we came in to see Dr. Sleep and after waiting 30 minutes starts vomiting static all over screen between the loudest ads, with no video, Ive ever experienced. We got vouchers for a free movie but at this point its a refund. I use to love this place, now Im just disappointed. :(
Screen was small. Audio was absolutely terrible. Couldnt quit thinking about it the whole movie (Ford vs Ferrari). Seats were comfortable.

Theyve upgraded and now have wonderfully comfortable seats with lots of leg room. We were able to see a movie here that was out of most theaters, so that was definitely a treat.

First time Ive been to this place and let me say they know how a movie theater should be. Great seating and great food. One thing I will say is that the staff were talking to each other more than us while we had ordered. The food was absolutely overpriced. More than any movie theater I have been to. Other than those 2 issues it was a great experience and would come back.
This newly remodeled theatre (except the bathrooms, lets call them retro) has nice, wide, comfy recliner chairs each with small table/cup holder. Remodeled concession stand includes beer and wine options. Staff is friendly and eager to help. This little hidden gem will start to get crowded once people know its been upgraded. We will definitely be back to this location.

A hidden gem (especially after its recent renovation) due to its location. Always able to catch popular movies on opening day, no problem. Easily among the best Austin has to offer in terms of comfortable seating. Used to be such a Drafthouse fangirl, now I rarely go there.

After the remodel this theater did nothing but improve. Seats are very premium and the latest movies are always there. Would be nice though if a larger screen format was offered.

Nice remodel keeping up with the times. Recliners are great. The only thing I dont get are the walls inside the theatres are still the same with the same blue curtains. Why spend thousands upgrading when you still have the same curtains of years past

Was good still a good theater to go to, but you can see it is all and I dont see management is trying to do something about it. Right after you going in into the cinema room you can smell something weird like old stuff. This theater is small compare to the new ones.
Very nice theater! Seats are new, reclining. People there are really nice and the snack bar has a LOT of options. Bonus is that its hardly ever crowded so its like a nice little treasure all to yourself!

I enjoy going to Galaxy Highland theater because it is close to my home, the employees are very friendly and helpful, and the recently upgraded seats are extremely comfortable. It really is my favorite theater to visit. I love it there.
Generally good theater, but beware- they sell front row seats to movies, and you are literally sitting below the screen. All of the images are distorted, and you have to turn your head to see left and right. When we sat in our seats we were immediately handed free passes for another movie, which was nice of them, but it makes you wonder why they sell those seats in the first place. I could see a good portion of people getting a headache, neckache, or backache from sitting there. Again generally good theater, made up for the problem without us having to ask, but they shouldnt sell those seats.

I love this theater. Sound system is amazing. You dont normally think about a theaters sound system, do you? I dont. But when I go to Galaxy Highland 10, then visit another theater, I DO notice the sound. I notice other theaters dont sound as good. They also use real butter on popcorn! And serve alcohol here. Hot dogs are good. Theater seats are comfortable.

Ive been coming to this theater for over 20 years and recently it has been remodeled with the most comfortable leather seating. The concession is a little high but I think its worth it.
Galaxy Highland has started implementing reserved seating. I despise reserved seating! How the #&$* am I suppose to know where I would like to sit untill I get in there and see for myself.

Been coming here since I was a kid going to highland mall. Feels great to bring my kids. Here at the same age I was to enjoy movies and time with sibling and friends. Clean environment they have food food in there now yesss.
The theater is super clean and all the staff is so polite and helpful. I am a busy mother who is still breastfeeding, that being said, I asked the staff if they had a place where I could pump since I was away from my child. The staff (all of them working the 5:40 to closing shift) were all so helpful from asking if I needed a cup of water to providing a bench for me and ice to keep my milk cold!!! They went above and beyond! The popcorn was fresh and perfect too! Great job guys!!!-Victoria Perez
My kids and I love coming here. Its honestly the only theater we go to as a family. And my son especially loves the popcorn seasoning thats provided.
