DUB ACADEMY is literally stumbling distance from the infamous 6th street corridor. That being said it is in a prime spot to take advantage of the bustling music scene that is Austin. I called them less than an hour before they were supposed to close on a Thursday & Phoenix gave me a proper intro.Looking forward to class 101 . . . . . .

How lucky are we to have a DJ training facility in Austin Texas. The academy is wonderfulClean facility, professional teachers and very helpful with advice when you need direction on what kind of classes you may want try.I would highly recommend Dub Academy!!!️️️

My son attended a week of summer camp at Dub Academy and absolutely love it. The staff were fantastic, and my son learned a ton while he was there. We bought him a small turntable for home, and now he often spends an hour or two mixing in his room -- instead of playing video games! Thanks so much to Dub Academy!

Dub academy is a cool place to check out. I went on a google pub crawl. They taught us the basics of mixing tracks. I thought it was really neat.

I attended a short day session. However--I enjoyed every minute of it. The instructors are full of enthusiasm that immediately rubs off the second you walk thru the door. I will be back for more time.

Take your shot of perfecting your Dj craft here. The studio has amazing equipment, it has amazing artwork. An all around atmosphere you want to perfect your craft.

I took classes in protools and LaMaschine here and had a blast. The proper who work here were super knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Very recommended.

?????I wanna go to the Dub Academy when I get out high school so I can be a DJ but I dont know what time I have to be there and am I going to have to buy my own stuff or is the Dub academy going to let me borrow the stuff from their academy?????

Hours are incorrect on their website and the number posted has no one answering and no VM option either. My little was really looking forward to it and I even researched the hours and it was posted m-f till 6p and we arrived at 4 to find it closed. I will update this review if we actually ever make it there during their mysterious hours.

Very impressed with this place. Definitely unique & a place for music lovers!!! My brother in laws eyes lit up right when we got inside.These guys love what theyre doing & love helping others find their way into it too. From music theory to mixing & scratching, you can learn all kinds of stuff here. They even have people here that know about music production & composition.Im totally not the DJing type, but even I had some fun getting my hands on the turntable. :)Great equipment & has that underground music vibe.Sidenote: I would give it a 5 star but I havent had experience with a full lesson yet, so I cant say I have enough experience with the place to love it. That last star will have to wait until next time!!

My short DJ lesson was such a fun experience! The trainers are very personable, patient, and knowledgeable, able to make it easy for a novice.

The teachers at Dub Academy are great, and if you are looking to enhance your life with some dj skills I can not recommend them enough. Anthony and Andrew were my DJing jedi-masters, and are super cool, very talented and good instructors both. Check it out.

I got to attend an intro class at Dub Academy, and had a great time learning the basics of something that had never even occurred to me to try. I got to see the software used along with the turntable technology, learned how the special records send an audio signal to the computer, which then lets the DJs movement of the turntable control the playback of the digital music files so that he or she can scratch and synch tracks for seamless transitions. The short intro wasnt long enough for me to gain any proficiency in it, but it intrigued me enough to be interested in going back for a longer session to see how I like it. I had a great time and highly recommend the experience. Im told there are frequent deals on Groupon and other similar services, so be on the lookout for a chance to try it out on the cheap.

Very cool idea and a fun place to take a little class on DJing. Which, btw, seems way easier than they make it sound now that I have learned about the digital equipment they have access too. Seems like cheating.

This is the dojo if your serious about any form of electronic music production or DJing. In Austin, you can spot a DJ or producer in shot of a stones throw, but if you want to establish yourself, you need to rely on your community. Ive recommended to many, that there is no better place than here to find yourself in an enriching community than here. Wether its a Sunday Funday meet and greet, a summer camp a maybe just a spot to meet some new friends. If your serious about your craft, visit here.

Khary is amazing! I learned so much with him and ableton! Ive even worked with him to make some great music! Dub academy really gets you into the music and teaches you how to create a good workflow for creation! I love this place! The studio they have is awesome too for the live and studio experience!

If you have an itch you need to scratch...and that itch is to hone your DJ skillset, then you can baby scratch your way into ATX nightlife stardom here!Or of your like me and the only way you drop sick beats is throwing records on ground, this is still an awesome place to get your turntable learning on!I came in to audit an intro class here one evening and it was the most fun I ever had learning how to do something waaay out of my knowledge and comfort arenas.The equipment here is state the art and each station has dual turntables and a mac so you can track your beats and your progress. The instructors are not only pros in the business, but their passion is contagious!They are a non-profit and work with a lot of youth programs, which I think is awesome for community engagement and being another fantastic Eastside staple only adds to the character of this place!By the end of the class, I was not only simon-says baby scratching on both turntables, but felt like I could walk out and confidently nickname myself DJ Madame Magic Touch!
