This review is for the North Door, located within 501 studios. I attended Nerd Nite Austin for the first time last week and I really enjoyed the venue! Upon entering, the atmosphere is very cozy with not much wide open space and a nice little bar area. After walking through some black curtains, you arrive in a large, two-level room with a stage. This is a perfect venue for gatherings such as Nerd Nite and I look forward to returning!

In general, I like the ND. They host particular and interesting events. Like tonights - a Drambuie sponsored evening of silent films (with a DJed soundtrack... of course). I have also heard a couple of artists and speakers here that I would never have had the inclination to go see otherwise, so I am glad for that. It is a dark and dirty cave, but what self-respecting place east of IH35 in Austin isnt?

Right next door to the North Door. They put on really cool events and its right at the beginning of the east side, so youre not too far away from downtown.

Cool space to see a live music show... check the small bar in the back, no line!
