I hadnt been to a tattoo shop in about three years due to my favorite shop bing out of state. I spent four months looking through local shops, looking at artists, and reading reviews from customers. This shop has far exceeded my expectations in cleanliness as well as artists skill. Im so happy with the tattoo Ive gotten and I will be booking there again. Honestly, its one of the better shops Ive been to. The artist that did mine, Jason Thomas, was a super cool guy. Again, I couldnt be happier. Definitely going to be booking through him for the foreseeable future.

I got a tattoo by Tina Poe and it’s AMAZING. She is so incredibly talented and very light handed. She took my concept and brought life to it. I’m so glad she did my tattoo and words cannot express how happy I am with it.

This was my first tattoo with Moon Tattoo/David Poe and also my first large scale one at that! I liked Davids booking consultation process and how he opens up his books once a month on a certain time and day. I feel like this is beneficial in that there are no long waiting periods to see him, as youll get tattooed the following month, and gives everyone a fair chance at getting to work with him. There were *some* delays in the books opening up and the system itself is bit wonky. You can select a time, but if you dont fill everything fast enough, someone else who also selected your time slot, can claim it.....even though it says the spot is being held for you for a short period of time.We had an over the phone consultation (due to COVID precautions) and he was brief, polite, thorough. I had an idea in mind and sent over references but, to be honest, I completely trusted whatever he would come up with as all his artwork is truly unique and innovative. He is so talented!I got plenty of emailed directions on the whole new COVID process and everything is very easy to find on their website (kudos to the intuitive navigation and helpful information). I showed up prepared and v e r y excited on the actual tattoo day and everything went smoothly. I LOVED my design and he took a lot of effort and care to make sure it looked *exactly* how I wanted - both for my and his standards! He also mentioned to let him know if I have any issues after it heals and would like a touch-up. I appreciated that, as not all artists are that accommodating or patient.David has a relaxing demeanor and we had some easy convo towards the beginning and end of the session, as he was razor focused in the meantime. He is also a crazy fast tattooer and I was pleasantly surprised when it was all over.The shop itself is very clean, minimal, plant-filled (more kudos!!), and just has a comfortable air about it. Everyone there is so pleasant and seem to get along very well- immediately felt welcome and at home. I cant wait to come back!

I left a bad review and they deleted it. Do not go to Johnny Bravo because he does bad tattoos, he cancels appointments, and he gets mad if you ask him to resize or reposition the stencil after its been printed. Ive had 4 tattoos from him and they all came out bad. The last tattoo I paid $450 in full, he did half of it but then he got mad and never finished. I asked the shop owners for help and they did nothing, they didnt even respond. Heres some pictures of bad tattoos he did on me.

I visited Moon Tattoo a few days ago and got my first tattoo ever by artist David Poe. I cant say enough how happy I am with the finished product! The environment and staff were very relaxed and pleasant which made my first tattoo experience the best it could be and put me at ease. All of the artist at this shop are very talented. I will definitely be getting more work done here and am already planning my next piece.

Just got a piece done from him and I couldnt be more pleased. He was very accommodating and easy going with the design process. Id like to think I wasnt that picky but I had a couple key elements I wanted included in the tattoo. He tweaked the initial design and when he brought out the sketch I was in love with it! 7 hours later Im in love with the finished result! Also his wife is super sweet and was very helpful with scheduling!

David is an AMAZING artist! The scheduling process is super easy. He is very thorough during his consultations and takes pride in his work. He has done 2 tattoos for me so far, to include a cover-up that several other artists told me couldnt be done. ... and it is by far my favorite of the ones I have. Ive worked with Mr. David Poe for a year and a half at Golden Age, he did 3 large pieces for me. They look beautiful, he used a lot of creativity to develop them, and is very professional and courteous. Working with him is a pleasure, I trust him a lot and look forward to working with him more in his new studio.

If youre even thinking about coming here, do it!! Really friendly and professional staff. Insanely clean environment. You can tell they value and take pride in what they do. My appt was with Secret and she was amaZing! Line work was crazy on-point. Deffinately coming back next chance I get!

I got a small portrait of my dog tattooed by Jonny Bravo about a month ago and its exquisite! Jonny is a true artist who wants to do work that hes proud of, so you can trust you are in good hands. He books up fast, but once I was in the pipeline to get on his books, it was easy to set up a consultation/schedule; hes very flexible on scheduling as long as you communicate if you need to reschedule or anything!The shop is super clean and chic; its as much an art gallery as it is a tattoo shop! My session with Jonny was super chill and he really makes sure to capture all the details of what you want. Id highly recommend him!David Poe, one of the co-owners, actually did an arm piece for me about 2 years ago that is absolutely beautiful, and I really enjoyed my time with him as well! Hes very friendly, personable, and professional. His wife Tina was there working while I was getting tattooed with Jonny and she seems like an absolute sweetheart. All in all, I think you cant go wrong getting a piece done by anyone here. One of the best tattoo spots in Austin for sure!

I was referred to Mr. David Poe by a friend who got her tattoo done by him. As soon as I saw his work through Instagram and his website I knew I had to get my first tattoo from him! It was so quick & easy to set up an appt. through his website. The day I got my tattoo I was kinda nervous, but once he started it went by so quick and smooth! I thought my tattoo was going to hurt so much, but it really didnt. & the healing process right now is going by really good too. Long story short, I had a GREAT experience and plan on getting my next tattoo with Mr. David Poe!!!

Moon Tattoo is amazing! David and Tina Poe (the owners of the shop as well as two of the artists in the shop) are both incredibly kind and very professional. Johnathan Bravo is another artist at the shop (whom Ive personally had as an artist and gave me my most favorite tattoo I have!) I just love him and cant say enough good things about his work! All three of them are amazing artists and Ive seen first-hand the high quality tats they provide. The shop itself is great too! Nice, clean layout to the place and very nice touch with the matching work spaces! I highly recommend any of the artists here depending on what you want done and they definitely get 5 stars from me as well as a repeat customer and a great spokesperson for the shop! There are a whole lot of tat shops in Austin and Im sure many are great, but I promise you wont be disappointed if you go with Moon!
