Austin is so very lucky to have a jewelry arts academy like Creative Side. They offer a wealth of classes for those who are just curious about making jewelry to seasoned artists who want to build their skills. Ive been so impressed with the quality of the training and the support and skills of both the instructors and the assistants. Over the past 2 years Ive taken 4-5 courses, adding to my own skill set. One of my favorite classes was with Bill Fretz, the master jeweler and tool maker. What a delight to be able to work in a small class setting with a world class instructor like Bill!In addition to the opportunity to train with some of the most impressive names in art jewelry, Creative Side offers a warm and inviting culture. Someone is always there to lend a hand-- or a torch-- on a difficult piece or to share a bit of advice. The staff is highly skilled and always willing to help.

Creative Side has an amazing facility and the teachers are caring, educated and go above and beyond to help! They have many offerings other than just jewelry classes including studio rental and make your own wedding rings.

I attended the Simple Ring Making class and had a great time! The four hour class was incredibly informative and fun. Whether youre looking to become a jeweler or just want to test out a new hobby, the academy has something for you!

Ive taken two classes at Creative Side now. Both times I drove more than 2,000 miles round trip to get there. It was worth every mile. Both of my teachers were eminently qualified to teach what they taught and they seemed to know before I did exactly what I needed. Ive been supplementing my income with jewelry for several years now so I already had my style but both classes augmented what I was able to do incredibly. Every new technique frees me to do more. It wasnt just the teachers though. The Creative Side staff was there. Everyone of the staff would be qualified to teach on their own. When the classes ended I found that the teachers and the staff were still there for me. Anytime I have a question or a problem theyre there supporting me via email. They talk about the Creative Side family and they mean it. Ill be back over and over again as often as I can.

Had a chance to interact with both the staff and a small demonstration at a private event and was super impressed. I got to to make a modern bracelet unique to my style. I would recommend this location to anyone looking to expand on their jewelry skill or to even get started.

My fiance and I made our 3 rings here in a day and loved the Forged Together experience. I highly recommend this over ring shopping in a big box store.

At a recent private event I attended, representatives of Creative Side were there to help us create our own jewelry, showing us how to use the tools to imprint copper bracelets and earrings. They were very friendly, helpful, and provided easy instructions. I plan to schedule an outing with friends there. For anyone interested in learning how to make jewelry, this would be the place to go!

I took the one night ring making class and had a blast. I was surprised that I could actually learn how to make a simple ring in one evening. Would love to take more classes here in the future.

I immediately fell in love with this school when I attended Open Studio with Rita Marie Ross. She was so helpful and showed me exactly what I needed to do to create my vision. Rita is such a calming presence and great teacher, Ive never felt so comfortable in the studio before. Thanks Creative Side, so glad you are here in Austin.
