This is very nice place for an evening walk with family or just by yourself. There is a small bridge where you can sit by letting your feet fall in water...kids enjoy that. There is also a small park with slides and all for kids to play. We liked this place

Very clean play areas, with lots of equipment for the kiddos to climb on. Cool little walking/bike trail that goes around the lake. Lots of benches scattered around. Very clean covered pavilion that overlooks the lake. Even has public restrooms with water fountains.

Love this park and path! Lots of beautiful scenery. The pavilion is a nice touch with a great view from the deck. Small dock type structure by the parking lot. A sign said small boats and boat type crafts are ok, just no swimming (Id assume no ice skating too).

I enjoy the scenery so close to home. I also appreciate how the park district integrated the playground equipment to enhance the natural environment. It looks very fluid yet functional.

This is a wonderful park. It has beautiful trails completely surrounding the lake. There are 2 gazebos, one right on the lake and another by the softball fields. Its a great place to take children as there are at least 3 different parks around the lake.

Its a nice place to walk, run,fishing and the big shelter for a picnic is perfect and for little kids the play ground is nice.

If you live in area, this is a hidden gem. Ive lived in and out of area for years and only discovered it recently. Nice ponds, walking trails, decent hills for running up, playground looks well kept and safe for smaller children up to about 12 yrs. Over all a quaint park.

Nice little place for a picnic, fishing, use a canoe, or just sit and relax in front of the lake. Also has a nice bike trail, fly a kite, so many things to do nice and close to home, porta potty near by, fishing is not bad, come and check it out, it wont disappoint.

This is the perfect place to take a run, walk, or bike ride. The paths are nice around the lake and the view is always nice from the paths. It also helps that the paths are very long and offer a different view for a majority of the path. There is also a park for kids and the place is kept clean. I recommend this place to anyone wanting to get outdoors and spend time with their family or friends. This is the place of choice for my family and friends to hangout because of how well kept up it is. Overall, Waubonsie Lake Park is a beautiful place.

I take my dog walking here all the time. Always neat and clean. Very well maintained. Lake loop is just over a mile. Full trail runs from McCoy St to Rush Copley hospital.

Its a nice area behind homes. 3 play grounds. No major inclines. Sufficient parking.

Although a great place to walk/ride a bike, it can also be a serious challenge. Too many dog owners do not restrain or use required leash. This is an IL law. Dogs have been seen leaping at passing walkers and bike riders. A few dog owners have allowed their pets to poop on the paths and do not clean up. Only trail in the FVPD offering free dog poop bags and trash cans for FREE to use right out in the OPEN!! can be a nice lunch area in the warm weather. Trails west of Kautz are more neglected and look very unmaintained with mangled dead trees and invasive plants. Has potential with better TLC.

I have always enjoyed this area. There are 3 childrens parks along the path. A small waterfall that is super cool and fun for kids and adults to cross over. A very kempt path used for walking/jogging/cycling with plenty of nature to see. 2 piers on the lake. Ample parking. Restrooms. I only wish more people picked up after their pets. Still 5 stars though

I love this park. I go on many runs and stroller rides. The landscaping is well kept and there is no trash on the ground. The asphalt trail has no cracks. The playground equipment is current and maintained.

Its my little piece of fabulous nature and tranquility. I try to go for nature walks and runs there as much as I can! Tons of different herons. And theyve done great with planting milkweed to save the monarch butterflies, I see thousands when Im there. So beautiful!

Love this place to take your pet out for a walk in the summer, its very relaxing, long trail. Also several play stations for the little to play at, one of the best features is that the library at walking distance and also the gym.

The Pavillion along the lake is really nice to sit by with friends. Multiple times in the past I had met up with people from two different schools in the area. Even with 30 people the area still felt open and not cramped with other people. Honestly I hope that we didnt annoy anyone else there who was enjoying the park. Their maintenence team, whoever it may be, has kept the park and multiple playgrounds relatively clean and I hope that it will be steadily maintained for the next generations.

Beautiful park. Love walking around the lake.

The park is really nice. The small lake is beautiful, with some ducks and geese. There are multiple playground areas, each different and with some special features I havent seen in other playgrounds. There is a nice area for a picnic and BBQ. There is a nice sort of bridge connecting two areas of the park. It seems that the toilets are not always open, but there is a portable potty there.

Very nice park off of Montgomery Road on Kautz Rd. We stopped for lunch. Someone had a party with silly string stuck on the picnic tables. Signs of balloons were strewn around. Watch your step, signs of geese are around. A young couple were there with a beautiful Siberian Husky. There is a trail around the lake. The dog was eager to go for a walk! There is a very nice playground area for kids. There is also a hill for sledding. We were there on a school day, so it was very quiet. It was more of an adult hide- away before school gets out! There are outdoor grills by the picnic shelter. Someone left charcoal briquets in the fire place area in the middle of the sheter. If people would clean up after themselves, it would be a more welcoming area.

This is our go to park for walking, running, bikerides, playing and also the kids love trying to catch fish here. Nice views and love that its bordered by several playgrounds for the kids to stop and play along the way.

Very nice area. Really two different parks separated by a small river that you can cross. Some people drove remote control boats in the pond. Park is well-maintained and had a lot of fun activities, including digging for fake fossils, a variety of slides and Teeter totters, as well as swings and other playground materials. Also had a very nice Pavilion with fireplace and grills for hosting family events or get-togethers.

The park is very nice. They have a 1 mile and a 3 mile paved walkway.

I love this park. I gave a 4 star because I wish the bathrooms were open beginning of spring through end of fall. When you have children you need bathrooms not out house which they did add but children wont use and I dislike child could fall in scares me. Anyway, other than this we love the park. Lots of room to run and play. Nice place for a picnic under the shelter lunch while viewing the water. I would recommend! Also, lots of parking available.

Bigger than what it initially looks like. has plenty of areas for some great pictures and a good family park. Has play sets for kids and available for fishing as well. Has a lovely open space with chairs, tables, and grills there ready for use.

Very good place to walk in the morning

Its definitely the best park in the immediate area. Which I realize isnt saying much in an area where mowed grass fields somehow count as parks. However it really is nice. The multi use path is pretty extensive leading to and from the park and there are 3 playgrounds and a very nice neighborhood adjacent. Also a short walk up the path to the Aurora library and community center, baseball fields soccer fields, tennis courts, and sand volleyball court. This is the best system of greenspaces in Aurora.
