I recently visited this museum for the first time. Excellent experience. Family friendly and smart, helpful staff. I also explored the possibility of working a joint project between them and our non-profit. The Director, Mr. Williams proved to be a highly professional leader with great vision for the museum. He is doing great work for all of Aurora. Thank you

I love that they have a free museum for the family. The lady at the front desk was very friendly and informative. She invited us to do the scavenger hunt and we enjoyed it. It was fun looking for all the items with the family. The restored Trolley was a treat. We enjoyed going inside the Trolley and sitting down. I recommend this museum. Fun for the whole family.

A really interesting place to visit if you want to see locomotives and cars of all different types. You can also see equipment that was used from a long time ago. They also have some really nice model train displays to see. A great place to bring the family and see some trains.

I finally got to check out Aurora History Museum at Academy of Sciences when we planned a girls night out. After getting drinks at dinner and happy hour, we were ready for some museum fun. The place is huge with tons of exhibits that you can check out. As with most museums, I think this place is a great date night venue!

A interesting place to visit. You might learn something about the city that you dont yet know. If you visit the Aurora History Museum you could watch a video on something important about the city. Brochures and literature are also available depending on what they have available at that point in time. Best of all everything is free unless you buy somerhing.

We stopped by this small museum in the Aurora Municipal Center campus near the city hall, courts, public library, etc. Entering we were greeted by a staff member who explained the different exhibits - currently there are three: Growing Home, Hometown Pride, and One Small Step. The permanent exhibit Growing Home provides an overview of Aurora history. It starts with the various neighborhoods that make up the city and their origins - a wall-sized aerial picture of the city has the locations of the various neighborhoods highlighted, and next to that are a series of information panels that give a short description of each neighborhoods origin and history, complete with photos.

This museum is a wonderful place to visit. Its free for all ages, and often also plays host to other cultural events. It tells the history of the City of Aurora from its founding to the present with a coherent narrative that even children can follow. It has a number of artifacts to illuminate the time periods and events it talks about, and the trolley at the end makes a great photo opportunity. Recommended.

FREE museum with truly great exibits and caring staff that is eager to answer all your questions about Auroras History! Learned a lot about the community Ive been living in- which was really cool and made me have pride for where I am living. Also believe museums should be free and provide equal access to education. Propts Aurora for providing this!

This small museum is tucked between the police headquarters and city hall on the Aurora civic center campus. The most interesting exhibit is a meticulously restored trolley car which is housed in a new wing of the museum. There is also a general exhibit about the history of Aurora, a small rotating exhibit featuring residents collections, a little museum store, and occasional art exhibits.
