The amount of history in this place is undeniable. The amount of legendary moments I have personally experienced here are unforgettable. This is a world renowned venue visited by the elites of underground culture regularly. From open mic spoken word to career sparking producer beat battles, from hosting and supporting local leagues to being the backdrop of the largest events and moments of battle rap, and of course music talent tastings of every genre from across the globe who understand the importance of tapping into the heart of a city for an intimate night with “heads”. As sad and hard as the pandemic has been for all, I am glad the venue put safety first knowing the people are what’s important. The people will return when doors open. I look forward to that day.

The Music Room is an Atlanta institution, from its world famous facade (often lifted without credit) to the community it has fostered in the city. I always stop in for a dance when I visit ATL and bring friends with me to show them one of the citys best underground clubs. Ive even have had the honor of DJing there before, opening with a mushroom jazz inspired set for Mark Farina. Its rare to be able to play downtempo to a packed dance floor these days and have everyone down for the ride. It takes a special place to facilitate such a vibe and The Music Room does that.

Incredible intimate dance music venue owned and operated by pioneers of the Atlanta dance music scene. These guys have promoting and performing both chill and dance music in Atlanta for over 30 years. The pandemic has put a crunch on in-person events, so for now, they bring entertainment to the people directly into your home via the web.It amazes me that during this tough time, when we all should be looking out for one another, Keyboard Karens would come review this establishment negatively without ever setting foot in it, all in the name of some misplaced political brainwashing. Cancel-culture at its finest.Great people, great venue, great music and always the best vibes! Be sure to support your home-town heroes like these guys however you can. Theyll be there to support you with more great music and events for many years to come.

Chill crowd and local talent.

This is our favorite place to go to when we make it out of the suburbs for an evening. They always have the best music, the best vibe, and the staff is always great. Hoping for the best for them while they are shut down, and looking forward to making it back once they open!

One of my favorite dance spots!!!!! Kieran is also longtime friend who provides amazing customer service. Never a problem with the sound either. Definitely a staple in Atlanta.

Best club in Atlanta period with owners who care more for the safety of their customers then trying to fill their pockets while putting people at risk. Before this pandemic began they were booking the best known present and old school DJ’s to their establishment. Many clubs in the city reopened as soon as they got the green light and have paid the price with many cases hitting their patrons and staff. So instead of putting their guests and staff at risk they have continued doing the right thing and have kept the doors closed while live streaming DJ sets from their website. Sure it’s not the same but who in their right mind is foolish enough to go dance and sweat shoulder to shoulder in Atlanta right now with cases on the rise? Praying they make it through this dreadful period so they can bring the music back to us. It will be a huge loss to this city if they don’t️

I do miss the vibe & electricity of Edgewood Ave but after losing loved ones from the current pandemic, Id prefer to wait until its safe before heading back to the music room & its sister club. Im glad their owners have enough sense to lookout for their customers. Well see you guys soon for more music and dancing!

Closed when manufactured news outlet CNN sneezed and told them youre not safe.....Clearly a soul-void establishment where they play dance music, but scared to dance. They are doing podcasts now. Plandemic Lemmings cant dance!

This review is long overdue. Man how I love this place. Laid back, great DJs, underground feel.Dance space is small but perfect for the setting. Sound system is REALLY good.

The bartenders pour drinks thatmake you wonder if they learned from their high school sibling or maybe one of the many homeless that adorn it’s entrance.If they didn’t have decent acts from time to time I would never go back.

I recently went here for the Caribbean flag fest and was expecting a welcoming atmosphere, my brother bought a bottle from the bartender and was forcefully escorted from the premises. They didnt ask him for a receipt or anything they put their hands on him and very forcefully escorted him out

Would not allow me to come check to see if my glasses were there immediately after a show. I am legally required to wear glasses when driving but they wouldn’t not allow me to check if my glasses were there. Will sue if I get into a wreck.

I love tunes and atmosphere here and they have best staff around. The Music Room has been one of my favorite Atlanta night spots since they opened.

Fantastic music and staff. I badly sprained my ankle walking from the parking lot to the entrance and the security guard let me in to sit down before checking my ID and the bartender kept me very well supplied with ice all night.

The best venue for smaller acts. I saw No Mans here and it was insane. Love The Music Room, sad it is closing.

I came here for the Tiffany Gouche concert and had a fabulous time. The place is very intimate but appropriate for a small concert. The staff was very friendly, even getting me chair to sit it. I paid $15 to attend the concert which isnt bad, but the drinks are pretty pricey....I paid $11 for a Sex on the Beach!!!! Thats ridiculous and the reason for 4 stars instead of 5.

In the basement it is little dark but John Tejada was great

Good place and music but worst bar keepers ever

I was recently assaulted, jumped, and beaten at this establishment. I will try to make this short but, while on the lower level of the bar a stranger walked up to me and pulled a handful of my hair TOWARDS him (so that we were face to face). I hit him in the face to get him off of me. Security saw the commotion and came and told him and his friends to leave. About 15 minutes later, I decided to leave. They apparently were waiting for me outside. I barely got outside the door before they started to jump me. IN FRONT OF SECURITY...ON THEIR PROPERTY. Some random people walking by pulled the attackers off of me. When I asked security “why didn’t you help me?!” he said he’s not a police officer so he “don’t get involved in that type of stuff”. I suffered a busted lip, multiple bruises, my hair ripped out, scrapes from the cement, and a stolen phone. The manager Tony was HORRIBLE and very inconsiderate. He even “winked” at me when I told him how inconsiderate and insensitive he was being. When I contacted the owner, he acted concerned at first, told me to email him exactly what happened, then stopped responding. I will NEVER go back to this place and don’t recommend it to anyone else. They SUCK.

Love the music, hate the sound system. Had to leave shortly after getting there because of such bad sound. Just makes it impossible to enjoy. Bartenders were friendly, drinks were a bit small.

Made for a great night, didnt hangout much upstairs, but danced all night downstairs, had a large dance floor & bar with clean bathrooms, the bartenders gladly catered to our lack of knowledge of cocktails and let her decide what to drink (they were delicious)
