A humbling and introspective visit. This one will stick with me for many years. It was a gift. Even during the pandemic, only visiting outside I am very grateful for the opportunity. The monument and grounds were very very well executed.

The journey to see the Memorial was picturesque.. Love the murals and the whole area. Covid had some buildings closed but it was still very nice. I must do it again after things return to normal..

I was on vacation in Atlanta for a week. My partner and I decided to go into the city and explore. We went to this great plane, it was serreal that this is history. A great man was present there and I got to see it all with my own eyes. There is so much to see and discover, you could be there for a good few hours just looking and reading everything. The atmosphere was calm and it was a great plane to visit. Its all free and they have a little gift shop where you can buy little things. The tour guide did a great job, the information he shared was really good. Visit there if you can.

So much to see and do, I cant describe it all! I felt as though I walked through and touched a huge part of history.Take the time to go to Atlanta, GA and visit this awe-inspiring place! I know that you will find it is a part of our history that is truly indelible.

We arrived after the museum had closed for the day. Still was able to walk about the outside area and take in the very moving reflecting pool. We also crossed over the the outside area of the museum and read each one of the plaques around the rose garden. Quite beautiful.There was a well dressed man offering pamphlets and then asking for donations.

Came in from NY. What an amazing way to celebrate Black History Month. Sitting inside the church listening to MLK playing over the loudspeaker was one of the most fantastic feelings ever. Totally recommend

So much history, so much knowledge!Seeing some of the memorabilia, was like a walk back in time, it made me realize that what I previously imagined this period of history to be like was no where near the true reality.To say that Ive walked where Dr Martin Luther King walked and played as a child is an experience that Ill never forget.

The history here is rises from the ground up and permeates the very air you breathe while you are there. From the Ebenezer Baptist church to the eternal flame at tomb of Martin Luther King Jr. and his wife Coretta Scott King. It has to be seen by all to know how much America struggled to have a united soul, moreover the work that still needs to be done.**Just be mindful, there are people pretending to work for the historic site, the have knowledge of the site down pat. However, when theyre done with their schtick then they ask for money, they will get bitter when you dont give them money. Those who work there have national park uniforms**

The father of the civil rights movement - always a treat to see his legacy and history. You learn something new every time.

One of the best stops Ive ever made in Atlanta. The feeling you get when you walk into Ebenezer is something Ive never felt before. To hear Dr Martin Luther King preaching over the speaks was so moving. The grounds around the church were beautiful. His burial site will leave you speechless. For a moment the world is at peace and everything is ok.

Me and my family enjoyed every minute of our time there.

I love it here! Please bring your children to learn and walk the historic streets around here. They will learn so much.

Great place to go to learn about history. The short film is very informative, shown at the historical site, in the theater. Some of the displays are interactive.To get into the birthplace home of MLK, you have to be a little strategic. They only have limited viewing. Call ahead for the most up-to-date details. Plan on getting here early and being placed on a list for your actual viewing time.Well worth the visit.

During my recent visit to Atlanta, I had given my 3 young grands a history lesson on the MLK site from my visit many yrs ago...then took them to see for themselves and they loved it!

Wow Im glad I went to this historical, educational, wonderful place. The exhibits are excellent. Everyone there (the visitors) were so much in awe. Everyone was kind, respectful. The burial place for MLK and his wife is there. This is a nice place, worth the trip, and its all free!

This will make you appreciate all of our history and heritage. We have so much to be thankful for. Everyone love one another....

In spite of the pandemic, the memorial park is still a wonderful place to visit. The freedom walk is very telling and the cacsding pool of blue water with an eternal flame across from it is so beautiful. I cant wait to go inside the buildings to view the rest of that history once the pandemic is over. A must see for all Americans

Informative but the buildings were all closed due to covid. Seems as if Google would have mentioned that in there operating hours but was not mentioned. Only thing we could do was walk to the house, reflecting fountain and church.

Very nice at most importantly inspirational. I felt like I was a part of history while we were visiting. They also have great novelties to take back home to family that have great meanings. I love positive quotes and the gift shop is full of them, both from MLK and his Queen.

It was an honor to be able to visit on MLK weekend. Visiting all the areas literally gave me the chills. Ill be coming back because I didnt get to tour his birth home or the original Ebenezer Baptist Church.

A nice place to know deeper into Dr. Kings’ life. It makes me feel like a real person is standing in front of me. But if interested in more comprehensive about the civil rights movement for the Africa Americans, Center for Civil and Human Right is definitely the place you don’t wanna miss.

I honestly enjoyed every aspect of this museum! I enjoyed seeing the church he used to preach at, his house and the memory pool where Dr. King and his wife were laid to rest. At some points, I felt like I was there. Some parts were somber, especially the sections that were more geared towards the Civil Rights Movement versus the childhood of Dr. King. Overall, the experience was amazing. Pictures do not do it justice!

Good is that you can easily get there by the street car/tram. Attention: it is not included in the breeze ticket. Now: Is it politically incorrect to give not 5 stars to this monument of American history? But the presentation is a little outdated. Even it has never before been more actual and necessary to heal the wounded soul of this great nation. But it seems the words of Dr. Martin Luther King seem to be unheard and the setting will not attire more or younger visitors. For me: A wonderful from the roses to the wall. I wish I had had more time.

A slap of cold water in the face to see and hear the sounds of strong and courageous men, women and children walking peacefully, stoically while being attacked by hateful, evil men. A stark contrast between vile people behaving with no self control against those possessing the highest self control. MLK was able to lead so many people to righteous actions and deeds in the face of so much opposition from leaders in the black community who sought change through violence. The tour guide in Ebenezer Baptist Church was once a Malcolm X follower who came around to the simplicity and strength of Dr. Kings message.

Amazing! I cant wait to visit again.

The birthplace of the civil rights movement is a place I recommend visiting when in Atlanta. So much history in this one location. The home where Martin Luther King Jr can be toured but be prepared to get there early if you want to be able to register for the home tour. The tour is free. There is a museum you can visit, firehouse no. 6 is open too as well as the Historic Ebenezer Baptist Church. All areas are free of charge. Bring a bottle of water to keep hydrated as you do a lot of walking through the area.

I absolutely loved The Martin Luther King Jr. Historic site! I loved the exhibits. We came here for our family reunion on July 19th,2019. I absolutely loved all the history. It was definitely an unforgettable experience.

Who would have thought that we would ever have to social distance or be it may; not to get to close to one another. We dwell together on one accord in unity peacemakers in a U-N-I-T-Y fashion. Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. words of inspiration are truly felt today . At such a time as this... We are compelled to come together in 2020 to remember our community ,civic and national leaders. 1 Congressman John R. Lewis, Rev. C. T. Vivian, Rep Elijah Cummings and Rev. Dr. Joseph Lowery. Biblically speaking from the Book of Ecclesiastes. A time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing. We are now certainly are in a time to [refrain from embracing]. Great historical items. Great facilities. Great historical content. I love that its all free. I suggest you get there early to register for the birth home tour because it fills up fast.

So inspirational with beautiful grounds, stunning pool with King’s and his wife’s tombs and the eternal flame. Definitely worth experiencing. We were there on a Sunday in January and able to find street parking. There’s also a gift shop.

I really loved visiting. It was great reflecting on the person he was and all that he accomplished at his young age. He was a man with a tremendous love for God and a deep desire to serve Him. I missed the tour of MLs childhood home because they were full for the day. Get your tickets early in the morning if you plan on visiting the house. Everything is free and there was plenty of parking. The place was clean and everyone was friendly and helpful. I spent about three hours there, watching the videos and taking everything in. Its a wonderful place and would love to come back.

I was humbled to be in this historic house of worship! I stood in the same place so many other people have been to; pray, worship, learn, sing, praise, mourn, laugh, organize, grow, love, hope & share. When we are honest as we recall all of our past, we have true hope for changing our future! Thank you Atlanta, Ebenezer Baptist Church, National Park Service, citizens of Sweet Auburn, and everyone who helps to diligently maintain and safeguard this cornerstone of our American heritage!

This is an iincredibly moving and informative place. Its filled with history and is nestled in the city itself. The various historical buildings as well as the national park buildings go into depth on the history of Atlanta, civil rights, and the prominent neighborhood that King grew up and practiced in

The family and I had a really great time touring the historic site of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. We learned a lot of valuable history. We will definitely visit again.

So awesome that we came and I’d love to come back when I have more time. We were awestruck with all of the information available and my mother in law was so happy that we got to visit Dr. King’s birthplace and home.If I had to lodge one complaint it would be the inability to take pictures inside the house.

Going to this museum really caused me to think about some of the fundamental core beliefs and truths Dr Martin Luther King Jr fought so hard and died for; yet, today we seemed to have forgotten or worse have become indifferent to basic acts of humanity it saddens me. It was very sobering to walk through museum and read the thoughts and achievements of a life cut short too soon by the very ugly evil and hate we encounter today. Excellent place to visit, I felt like a kid on a field trip all over again!

As a visitor, I didnt know much about the civil rights movement and was glad I visited this site during a layover in Atlanta. It was emotionally moving and informative on American history. Definitely recommend dropping by for a visit.

God bless the King family we saw his museum site, birth home, his church where he was ordained and would preach, his and his wife final resting place etc.

Great place for schools trip or family trip. Very enlightening and educational. Self explanatory so no official for needed. Could be emotional for older generations. Would definitely return and recommend. My 11yr old found it extremely interesting.

Excellent memorial to the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. You can tour the house he grew up in. I recommend booking tickets online ahead of time to plan your trip better. Admission is free for everything ! You can also tour Ebenezer Baptist Church! If your in Atlanta make sure you visit!

You should do yourself the favor and come visit this exhibit. It is free, and honestly, I am almost offended that they did not charge me at least $10 at the door. If you live anywhere near the area, you should go visit this wonderful place dedicated to a truly exemplar human. His story is well told, his background and world put into context, and each picture worth inspecting and every line worth reading. Schedule a day trip, you might want to be a while. Bravo, bravo.

This is a must visit if you are in the Atlanta area. I mean its free, so there is no excuse! There is so much history in a few short blocks. The park Rangers are amazing, knowledgeable and friendly. The King family home was being renovated 3 weeks ago when I visited, but they have a pictorial tour of the home available in the old fire house.

Breathe Taking Experience! From the Civil Rights Documentary in the Theater Room to the Mannequins walking towards Freedom...This Museum exceeded my expectations! I believe every person of all ages should visit. The visuals are amazing, the Staff Rangers were friendly and informative. The entire street the Museum is located on, is just full of Great History and its all FREE which is awesome. (Tour MLK Jrs Church called Ebenezer, Visit his Home on the same street in walking distance, Visit the New Ebenezer Church across from the old one, Visit MLK Jrs Tomb outdoors all for free) It truly reminds you to continue to Spread Love and Peace!

The tour of Martin Luther Kings birth home was a beautiful and emotional. To touch the bannister on the staircase that he and his family touched was amazing to me. It needs to be experienced. The tour guides were friendly and kept everything moving smoothly.

This place is amazing. To be able to follow Dr. Kings life not only as a father but as an activist for civil rights is amazing. To see where he was born, raised and the church he attended and became a part of is incredible. The moment you walk in, the emotions overwhelm you as you walk in his shoes and those who walked and or marched beside him.

Very telling piece of history,the church ,his memorial ,kinda of takes you back in time a little of ways from, and ways too go,definitely worth seeing.

Its great that this historical place is free to visit and park. Everyone should come here at least once. Information about Dr Kings life and work is displayed in a respectful manner and rangers are always available to answer questions

Even though the public buildings were closed, the grounds were beautiful and peaceful. Our entire family appreciated the solemnity of the memorial areas.

I visited the Martin Luther King Junior national historic park (free) with no expectations of what to find and came away changed. What a beautiful tribute to a beautiful man who spoke of peace and harmony. The museum was put together in a logical timeline with interactive displays, great videos, and room for many visitors to stand in one area and experience the legacy of Martin Luther King together. I appreciated that unity. The displays left me touched in a positive way and wishing that people of all nationalities, color, gender, religion could get along in the way that Martin Luther King preached and led. He was and is a true disciple of Jesus Christ. Thank you for this terrific National park.

Shame its not maintained as well as the dozens of National Parks Ive visited.

This was with no doubts the hit of my trip to Atlanta. It is a must see! Very inspiring and powerful videos / pictures at the museum. I got to see Martin Luther King Jrs house and I also visited his church. And you can literally listening to him preaching as they have some audios playing. Very exciting experience.

I was elated to experience the tour and see the place where Dr. King was raised and worshipped. This trip for my family was a very historic one I’m proud to say I saw it all. I’m thankful for the experience and to teach my children about a great man. This area generally has a lot of visitors and parking is hard to come by. Be sure to bring cash for the lots nearby, try to get there early bring water and a light snack. The summer was very hot, comfortable shoes and clothing is best. Lastly, enjoy this experience with your family!

Lived very near here for many years ..and then my childrens grandmother lived just a quick walk away from it.. we often saw it, while walking through told our 3 children when they were little, all about the history of our late great Dr. Martin Luther King. I am glad it did not go into a state of disrepair, and am extremely grateful that we had the opportunity to live near here before gentrification boomed after the 96 Olympics.His truly prophetic , I Have a Dream speech still affects us to this day, as my children do live that dream ...and have grown-up never judging others based on their culture, skin color, religion, origins, or anything other than the persons own Merit. This owed humbly yet honorably to our very own Atlantan , Martin Luther King.

Absolutely amazing! Visiting the historic site, meeting Congressman John Lewis, camping overnight and doing a service project was an experience my son and I will never forget! Thank you to the National Park Service and the Greening Youth foundation!!

Such an amazing and chilling experience Paige and I had. We stood in line for about 15 mins to take a tour of the house. Free admission & no pictures while doing tour of house. Once your out of the house you can take pictures and parking was free.

Its truly amazing to be able to walk around the streets where MLK Jr. was born and raised. It is very informative as well.

First time there. I thought it was nice. But closed on that day

This is a MUST SEE destination in Atlanta that seems to miss all of the major lists. I visited this national park over the course of two hours and learned so much about the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr and others who had major roles in civil rights and beyond. The museum was sad, horrifying, and uplifting all at once. It is definitely child appropriate (there were several groups of children when I went). You can take a free tour of ML Kings birth home, his church, and there are several gift shops throughout the block. The stunning memorial has a water feature reminiscent of the national mall and the tombs of Dr King and Coretta Scott King are situated directly across from an eternal flame. The entire visit was moving. There is ample free parking and a visitors guide makes navigating the park simple. The only issue I had was with the number of panhandlers in the park and out on the street. I didnt always feel safe to walk around by myself. That being said, this is a national treasure. MUCH nicer than the one in DC under the Lincoln memorial.

The neighborhood is up and coming. Parking is 10 per two hours in the adjacent lot and street parking is available. Everything is pretty much in walking distance. Tours were sold out at 2pm when we got in but you can walk around to see the graves and the historical church.

As a person who loves museums, parks, and galleries, I’m very pleased with the MLK Center/Park! My partner doesn’t know the full MLK history and I’m pleased that our visit to the center provided him the history lessons he needs to know the full MLK impact on our history!Everything is clean and a great representation of MLK legacy: From the visitor’s center, to the park, to the wall of quotes, and the beautiful water stream.
