My visit to the Ancient African Museum was awesome. The staff was warm and friendly. The atmosphere is an intimate show of cultural pride located inner city Atlanta. Established and ran by community members, one can tell their committed and using their own resources and ingenuity to bring this museum to life. Fortunate to attend their grand opening, I had the chance to meet with the owner who shared her vision of bringing this treasure for all to enjoy. The exhibits range from pre-dynastic, dynastic, post-dynastic areas. On this particular day there were lots of people, activities for the children and guided tours. The museum is small, in an industrial park and has potential for growth. Their staff seemed dedicated in doing their best to fill a void in the community. They have no outside funding and solely surviving on admission for its sustainability. I loved my visit and look forward to returning. They’re a great asset to the community. Great place to bring your children for a walk back in time. For a museum in its infancy I think their off to a great start. Great show of self love and pride. Looking forward to seeing the museum grow.

Great customer service and lots of history and information given in a perfect amount of time. I enjoyed the introduction video and all the beautiful art; than my 10 year old niece got a tribal face painting done at the end. My friends and family and I truly enjoyed our time here; can’t wait to see the bright future of this place. Perfect hand crafted jewelry available for purchase. #supportblackbusinesses

I learned so much about our REAL ANCIENT AFRICAN HISTORY that we would all already Know and appreciate had it not been for a certain Group of evils who conspired against the love weve shown them. Thanks again and bringing back the family

The five star reviews are from friends. You can tell by the likes they just liked each others posts. The negative review is a true review and had no thumbs up. The one star review is an accurate description of this museum. I see they are no longer on groupon which is good. I love supporting black owned businesses but not in favor of being robbed by them. The groupon was a waste of money. Tell homie in the face paint I said wuddup though.

I’m trying to find out what to even say so that you can understand just how bad this ‘museum’ is but I’ve honestly never seen something so bad in my life. It looks like a 4th grader’s history project, not a museum. There is nothing ‘ancient’ in there. The paintings on the wall are from 2018 (says so under the painters signature), there are no ancient artifacts or anything of that nature. There are simply little paragraphs printed out and taped to the wall. Pathetic. Seriously pathetic. We only paid $11 to go and even that seems like too much to pay for what was presented. It’s located in a broken down warehouse type of building. Very bad. Don’t go - seriously. It doesn’t have anythig that museums have. You might as well just read an Africa wikipedia page. I’d do zero stars if I could.
