It was an awesome experience. The group was incredible! The food was great. Loved how the place was set up for social distancing and mask requirements with sanitizing stations.. Had an overall enjoyable and fun experience.

My birthday is this Saturday and I bought tickets for the 9pm show. At the time as shown in the photo it said Earth Wind and Fire was showing so I booked it just to get a Stevie Wonder ticket. When I emailed them about it they told me it must be my system then went and changed it without even acknowledging that there was an error on their part. No apology or anything. And they will not reimburse me. Not a good first impression. Horrible customer service. Im so hoping the visit will change my view. But I will not recommend them to anyone!

This place is amazing, think City Winery with a Harlem Nights vibe. Music was good, food and drink good. Bought tics in the balcony for my own comfort given the COVID. Plus I love that I was supporting a black owned business

I had family here for the holidays, we celebrated my aunts birthday there we all enjoyed everything. Young lady at the front door was very polite, Covid policy in place, waitress was very polite constantly checked on us, food was cooked to order, timely and brought to us hot and delicious, Georgia Peach drink was awesome, the band was definitely a crowd pleaser (Maxwell Tribute). Only negative was the 18% gratuity. Overall it was a great first time experience definitely will be back soon.

This place was everything I need in my life. The atmosphere was very relaxing and entertaining. The food was good but not filling. I feel like they could have given a little more on the plate. The drink I had was the bomb! But other than that, I had a ball!!! I will definitely be back again!!!

This place is great for a night out. (Birthday, Anniversary). I went on a Thursday night. The crowd was mid 30s to mid 50s. The dress was casual/business with face mask and temperature check at the door. There was live (grown folks) music, which I love!! The food was cooked to order. The drinks were on point! I WILL go back!!

It was a birthday celebration with a group of ten people. Everyone enjoyed the 90 minute jazz music set. The food was tasty but small portions. There were no complaints from any of the others in the group.

I had my mom a surprise birthday here this past Saturday and I was beyond pleased with St. James. The Covid precautions were in place mask, hand sanitizing stations around the club, and temperature checks upon entry. The ambiance was nice and the staff was great (Nia was our waitress). My mom and her sisters enjoyed the food we all had something different from the menu. I myslef had the fish, collards (real greens with turkey) and mac and cheese and it was all very good. The drinks (St. James connection and Georgia Peach) were top notch!! Now for the band we were there to see Kasper & the 911 Band and hunni they were all that and some!!! My aunts and friends havent stopped talking about it yet. We will definitely be back and plan on bringing even more with us!

They are open and still a great venue! Very friendly and safe space. Good selection of wines and cocktails with a limited menu. Wings are always good. Almost every seat is a good one, with great sight lines and either couch or table seating. Sound is usually excellent, but they are still tweaking it.

We went to the early show tonight. Had dinner, lamb chops with collards and roasted potatoes. Everything was excellent, complements to the chef. The entertainment was Soul Cartel- Great show!! It was a little short only 45 minutes, but I enjoyed fully. The restrooms were sparkling clean and they had sanitzing supplies all around. Great birthday experience for my boo...

The food was really good. Im not a music-over-artist type of person but wanted to give this place a try because a promoter I love held an event here. The size is ideal for a Jazz, slow RnB, or similar. Its not a good spot for rock, rap, heavy, etc. The instruments kill out the performer. Not holding that against them. Waitress kept taking her mask down so 4 stars. Lets make sure they understand the older crowd are more subsceptible so stay vigilant. All else is cool. Would recommend.

St James Live have been a great neighborhood grown folks spot.. The live entertainment has been Awesome!! But the service has been aweful.. Been there 3 times thinking it would get better. Waiting for our waitress to show up then once she gotten our order.. Then Waiting another 15 - 20min for drinks. Then another 20 min to place order and now everyone around us served but Im still waiting.. This is bad customer service and poor waitress skills.. Management need to retrain or hire more qualified candidates..So disappointed After 3 tries with this restaurant, I wont return..

Went out for the first time since March 2020/Covid19 and the band playing that night is a local fan favorite. I was so excited. My friend & I paid for the 9 oclock show due to the other option was 6:30. We both were running late, I got to St. James around 9:15, thinking okay the should play til 10:30 so this is still good. My friend probably got there about 9:40. I already ordered a drink and wanted to wait to see if my friend was going to order something or if I needed to because of my drink. By this time it was around 9:50. So we ordered.... okay the ticket was $35 and then we each ordered another $35 plus of food and drinks; so this was a $70 dollar night. 10 minutes not only did we get our food the band stop playing WHAT!!!! For an hour show $35 is a RIP off I dont care how much a business may have lost at this point. Business should give a patron an option of paying more because of that, which I would have been happy to do if asked. In addition, if I had known the band wasnt performing after 10pm I would not have spent money to eat, since I just live around the corner to eat for a lot less and I probably just would not have gone to get dress for an hour of entertainment!I was so excited about getting out, greeting my new normal and it left me wondering why even go out!

It was AWESOME! I enjoyed myself from beginning to end. Im a vegan and they really dont have a wide variety other than salad and fries but, my salad was really good.The music was on point, none of that trapp music stuff; grown and sexy all the way.

Ill never go to another club again. I love Saint James Live. The entertainment, food, drinks, atmosphere. My first night going was a tribute to Earth Wind and Fire. Man Ill never forget this place.

Great venue. Location was not to far from the highway and easy to find. It my first time going. I was confuse with the show time because the ticket said one thing and the website said another. I tried calling the place for a better understanding but no one picked up the phone. So when we got there at 8:30pm the show had already started and was about to go into intermission. It was full house! All the tables were taken, so make sure you make reservations online. I ordered the chicken but they were sold out. So I just got the peach cobbler and my husband got the fish tacos. I would come back because the set up and music was great.

Poor customer service and after viewing how they treated one of their staff members son. Its just a bad look when you have customers. Im sure that business could have beed taken care of at a different time. The ambiance of the place was very nice especially the singer and musicians of the band were awesome.

This is a VERY nice place to hear smooth jazz. Tonight I saw the talented group The River Jets. They are simply fantastic. If you have the opportunity to hear them play live, you should definitely do so. The inside of the venue is setup nicely, not a bad seat in the house. The chicken wings, fries, shrimp, and spring rolls are delicious. Five stars EASY.

Where has this place been all my life? Im so glad I came out the other night. We had a great evening with Kasper and the 911 Band. The acoustics were great. Amazing vocals. Great staff. Great DJ. The DJ really kept the party going outside of the time the band played live. The food was going and wasnt overpriced. The speciality cocktails were pricey but came in a good size drinking glass. I will definitely be back.

It was a very terrible experience,. i was very excited to go out to listen to nice live music on this past Saturday 7/25. we booked the ticket on line at 9;30 show.we ordered only 3 martinis but they charged us as 6 martinis counted as double shots.they never told us it was a double shot, we ordered as a single shot.we try to argued but the manager said thats how they run the business.we felt rip-off, felt terrible. they should have told us thats a double shot.even comparing other places we go, their so called double shot is the same amount as other places serving.certainty rip-off!!!!we left with a very sour taste.The bill was over $150., we well NEVER go back nor recommend to anyone. very BAD practice!

I wish I could rate band and service separately...the artists were outstanding! The service was awful. Two ppl asked about my experience and I told them my food was over seasoned and needed some water instead of sending the food back. I was told I needed to pay $3 for water and the other person said I shouldve asked my server for light season. Those responses were unacceptable for a bill that was $40 for half a meal and two glasses of wine...wont happen again.

Very nice venue. The seats were decent. We sat towards the back on a couch. But the table was low for the seating. And the people at the table in front of us were standing and talking to people 50% of the time we were there. The tickets were a bit expensive, 30 dollars each. If you dont plan on dancing on the dance floor, I would suggest a balcony seat. The foodwas good but portions were small. And be aware that they add gratuity themselves, 18%. But the DJ was entertaining, the music was great and the band was excellent. Overall, I had fun and definitely recommend.

Loved it!....not the date so much

I liked the venue. The entertainment was good. The wings were dry. Food was served and we had to ask for napkins and Cutlery. The staff was courteous and helpful when asking for the items that we needed after the food was served. I arrived early so there were no parking issues for me.

Rocking NYE 2019 ~Simply Phenomenal Band Kasper & 911. Intimate atmosphere. The staff was extremely attentive. The music, food, and drinks were A-1. Highly recommend.

1st time here. I LOVE live jazz. Walked in, waited to be seated my table. Placed a ordee for wine. Show had started and wine never came. Finally went to the bar and there the bartender made me wait. The mgr walked by and i shared with her i had been waiting for a sip of drink, and she had me not 1 but 2 glasses of wine! Not sure if ill be back tho.

Visited St. James Live for the 1st time and we enjoyed. The ambiance and staff was nice. Bathrooms were even clean which is impressive due to the many guests that frequented it. I recommend this place to everyone whos looking to have a good time grown folks style.

I had a great time! The food was delicious! The Georgia Peach cobbler was amazingly filling! The drinks were great! Customer service was on point! The only thing that could be improved is the food prices and portions! Next time I will attend with a full belly. Also, why can’t you all serve free glasses of water?

Kippers RnB Circus was a total Blast! I was on my feet dancing like I did 40yrs ago (and Im not exaggerating). And if you missed last nights show I have some real good news for you. Every 1st Friday theyre at St. James Live, so you have a whole month to get yourself together for 1st Friday in July.

I visited St James earlier this summer for the first time to see Kipper Jones with a group of friends. They had seen him many times in the past, this was another first for me. The entire experience was one of the best Ive ever had. The music and performance was amazing. The food, drinks, crowd, ambiance and overall vibe was top notch. I highly recommend you check out St James Live! If youre looking for a great time out with friends , family or even by yourself.

I would give the places 5 drafts because it was an amazing experience until the very end the security guard accused me & my party of stealing the roses the waitress already cleared for us to have... not only that, but he was just nasty about it and smart mouthed for no apparent reason... get rid of the story guard and its definitely a 5 star place! Food is great, drinks are good and strong and the atmosphere is just amazing!

Chandra Currelley from Diary of A Mad Black Woman breathed life and excitement into this place. Music and her concert there was on point. Friendly and comfortable atmosphere. I highly recommend this place.

The atmosphere is warm, cozy, romantic, cool, and relaxed with a upscale vibe. Food was prepared well and delicious. I order the lambchops, the portions are small, but reasonable priced. Drinks were good and strong.Our waitress could have been more attentive; it was valentines evening and packed, so that couldve been the cause for her delay. But overall the service was professional and the hostess assisted us promptly. I highly recommend this place. I will definitely visit again.

Good fun with classic music

Myself and friends came here around the time of the One Music fest at the nearby Lakewood Ampitheatre (which was Mos Def’s announcement of his last concert). St. James Live was an elegant and beautiful experience. These musicians were awesome and apparently very talented. The food here was excellently delicious. We thankfully had the pleasure of meeting the musicians at the end of the show for an impromptu photo op. Please support black-owned businesses such as this and take the time out of your busy schedule to enjoy delightfully entertaining music.

I have enjoyed St. James both times that Ive gone. The first time was to see Kipper Jones and yesterday to see saxophonist Elan Trotmans tribute to Marvin Gaye. The service is always great, food, although limited, is delicious and clean establishment. FYI, 18% gratuity is automatically added to every bill so make sure you arent tipping twice unless, of course, you just want to. The ambiance is nice, a grown and sexy 40+ crowd, live DJ and active dance floor. Its a great place for girls night, couples or even solo for those who enjoy great live music. Ill be back again and again thats for sure.

My husband and I have been here four times already. I would say that we ate becoming regulars. Owners, Evelyn and Ron St. James have really got something special. Beautiful venue, good food and drinks. And of course, the music and entertainment is so great! We have enjoyed every single show. And will return over and over again.

I brought my boyfriend here last night for his birthday. I found this place literally by searching google for restaurants with a live band. We are from Tennessee so we didn’t know what to expect but I went ahead and purchased our tickets online in advance. We got there 5 minuets before the show started. Didn’t have to wait in line at all. Immediately the staff greeted us and were so friendly. This venue is so nice. Bathroom were very clean!!! We went to the show with Regina and she and that band were AMAZING! My boyfriend and I are in our early 30s and we were definitely the youngest in the room but we loved this place!!! The dj and host were great also. The food!!! Omg the food was on point! I got a salad and he got the sampler and ended up ordering more food because it was that good. You have to order the sangria it’s delicious. Only bad thing I didn’t like was the 11% service charge especially since we had no clue about it prior to ordering. Our waiter was a little confused I think it was his first week working or something but we were patient with him and he was very polite.

A great place to hear so good jazz. The food was delicious and hot. The waitress was very friendly and checked back with us often. The PR Experience was true showmen. Their music along with the DJ was truly enjoyable. I will be back again and again.

Had a great time coming to see the one and only Xavier Lewis pay tribute to Charlie Wilson. Everything was spectacular!!!! St.James Live did not disappoint and Xavier is a true entertainer.

Loved the venue. Great view from all seating. As someone who is just moving here from the DC area its nice to find a spot with like qualities & standards. Definitely received my moneys worth.
