Not a good experience. As an absentee bidder, I appeared to be the winning bid on my screen. However, the auctioneer awarded the item to a bidder on the floor. There was no Fair Warning. .Have tried many times to get this corrected, or explained, but Ms Rickenbacker refuses to return calls..

The integrity of a company begins with the owner(s). Robert Ahlers is one of the best people youll ever meet. All, and I mean all, of the people at A & O are the absolute best. It has been a pleasure to attend the sales and auctions for over 4 years.The recent April 23 auction was a little frustrating due to liveauctioneers website crashing and while it was completely out of the control of A & O, the people at A & O worked hard to make sure the auction was not continued until everything was 100%. Its how a company handles it when things go wrong which show the true mettle of a company and A & O handled it remarkably considering they had to coordinate with three websites. We at PInball Inc want to thank A & O for making sure the auction was able to continue and allowing us to get the piece weve been trying to find for over 20 years.

I am a personal property appraiser in Atlanta. Often, after I finish an appraisal, the next question is, How do I sell it? I respond with a discussion of the secondary market (auction houses, estate sales, etc.). Then they ask, Who should I call? I got a lot from them that was completely the wrong dimensions (6 times bigger!!!!). It was a horrible experience to make them take it back. They finally did and now I have no lot and months later I am still waiting to be reimbursed my expenses. Absolutely awful.

Ive purchased numerous items from Ahlers & Ogletree over the past 2+ years. Prior to that I had never purchased or attended an auction. Their auctions are extremely professionally run and a great way to spend a weekend looking at decorative and fine arts and other luxury goods. The auctions are very well run, orderly, and actually quite fun to see what different items go for. Ive learned so much attending them over the years and the staff there are always so friendly and helpful. Ive purchased a good bit of fine art, furniture, and jewelry from them, with never an issue in the transactions or delivery. What a horrible place. We signed a disclosure on a our dining room set to only be sold at a minimum price. Michael just went and sold it for his price without permission. this place is abominable. Dont place your beautiful estate items with this place.

My parents were Antique dealers in Atlanta for over 40 years. When they sadly passed away my wife and I were left to find the right team to help deal with their estate containing thousands of fines antiques. We were referred to Robert and his team from many in the local Antique community.One unique aspect of Robert and Christy’s business model is the different methods to sell to maximize prices. The Ahler’s team spent weeks organizing and cataloging items to determine the best method of selling. In the end there were about 1000 lots to be sold at auction and the remaining to be sold in a huge 5 day estate sale at my parents home along with remaining items to be sold through their own Gallery sale. We were left with a clean house ready to be put on the market.The experts on Ahler’s team are beyond amazing! Not only is the core team such a great group with hundreds of years of experience between them, they called in all the nessecary experts to evaluate more unique items like American Indian, Eskimo and other pieces that were somewhat niche domains.The whole experience - top to bottom - has left us with the Ahlers team as an extension of our family, we care about them and it’s obvious they care about us. I feel good knowing I put the estate that my parents were so proud of in the right hands.My wife and I can both whole heartedly recommend, without reservation, the Ahlers team to handle any sized estate. The process, people and results you just won’t find anywhere else. We are very thankful for all of their hard work and dedication.

Robert Ahlers took a problem of mine very seriously and really put some effort into solving it. I was pleasantly surprised compared to experiences Ive had with other auction houses.

I have purchased many items from this company and have I guess been lucky. Never depend on the photos or description they are not accurate. I paid $500 for a regency grand father clock. I knew it has issues with the works but it was said to tick. I knew the two back legs were missing. I did not know I had won I was out of the country and all of their emails went into my spam. Finally the office manager sent one and I received the email in my regular mail and sent my assistant to pick up. When he arrived he was told there was only one weight, never heard of a clock with one weight. When I saw it the face has so much damage you cannot make out the numbers. This is a parts only piece of junk that I paid for. Buyers beware!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great finds

I recently had a Gio Ponti console table that I sold with A&O and was totally unfamiliar with the auction process. A&O (specifically Ms. Rickenbacker) was very gracious and personable and helped advise and guide me through, thoughtfully answering my many questions and patiently explaining the process along the way. The first auction did not meet the reserve price so the table was stored at A&O for 6 months (free of charge) until the next right auction came up and the piece sold. I received the check for the full amount due in a timely manner and appreciated that they even took a lower commission to make up the reserve price! I am grateful for their care and service and will use A&O when I have another piece to auction!
