Museum has some interesting things in it. It is free, but you can put a donation in the box before you enter. I wouldnt recommend taking small children. It is a little something to do while youre in Atchison.
We finally got around to getting there. It was a wonderful museum to visit. On the day we were there they had their annual event, and so the kids got to ride the miniature train with their grandmother, and climb up into a couple of cars and one of the engines. Atchison has a lot to offer as far as attractions, and this really is a gem.
Loved it, want to go back, well kept place
Love old trains everything was wonderful
Gives a good, well-rounded sampling of Atchisons history. A famous poet, artists, Amelia Earhart, newspaper, Indian history, railroad, trading, famous dignitaries who passed through, a brief encounter with the man who was 0resident for a day, the Catholic college and Benedictine heritage, the early AT&T service, a famous photographer and more. Located in the Atchison Visitor Center and includes a gift shop.
Enjoyed the museum.
