Everyone was so friendly and the Museum was very informative.

I love the historical detail in this museum and the restoration of the old depot to be used by the Chamber of Commerce and the Museum.

I love all the items inside. Sadly they are not taking better care of the trains outside and the grass is tall by them.

The museum in the old depot was well done. The static railroad displays outside were in desperate need of some TLC.

Atchison is scenic, historic, and very well maintained; in short, it is a very attractive small town. The museum is located in the old Santa Fe freight depot, and the building also houses the local Chamber of Commerce and travel information center. Everything you need to know about Atchison can be found right here. The museum itself is interesting, but the trolley tour is a MUST. It costs $6, lasts about an hour, and the gentleman who was our guide gave us an absolutely delightful presentation. We spent the rest of the afternoon exploring Atchison on our own.

Great free museum with lots of history! There are Amelia Earhart exhibits as well as Native American and other local history. You can also check out the real trains outside. Its kid friendly and makes for an easy day trip from KC (less than an hour drive)

Stopped in Sunday afternoon as we drove through. Kids loved the trains! Employees were super friendly:)

Excellent place for ghost hunters! Really plays up on its haunted tour every Halloween.
