Quaint, city-run zoo. The staff is very well-mannered and social. We could listen to the tiger grunt for his afternoon meal! The monkeys even ran up to see us! So cute! Very family friendly and is perfect for a quick stop for kids!

+ Great local zoo that is fantastic for wholesome family fun. Something to kill time and keep your kids entertained.+ The zoo is located near a lake and park so you can make an entire day of it. Pack a picnic, take a walk, and go to the zoo. Big parking lot as well.+ All the animals that live in captivity here look happy and healthy. We absolutely loved the flamingos, red pandas, and tiger. They were active and fun to watch.+ The zoo isn’t that big and there is still a lot under construction, but all the animal habitats look comfortable and clean. Some of the exhibits were closed or empty, but we were really happy that there is even a zoo in this neighborhood that we could enjoy.+ Entrance fee is fair, there is a decent gift shop with souvenirs, drinks, and some snacks. The service at the cash register attendant/ticket box was a little unfriendly but other than that, we had a great experience!

Very depressing little zoo. Small kids will like it but older kids and adults will definitely notice how sad it is. They just finished an add on so maybe it wont be so bad if they can give the animals all a bit more space.

I hate to give a bad review on a local place. I would love for Atascadero to have a great feature that pulls people off the highway for a visit. But this zoo is really sad and depressing, and I honestly cant believe it meets the standards for being open. We should have higher standards for the living spaces animals live in.

The park is great considering the pandemic. The zoo was not bad for the size I was just really disturbed by the size of the enclosures. The meerkats are about the size of one tiger paw but their enclosure was at least twice the size of the tigers. It was really sad.

Very small zoo, with only a handful of animals. They have porcupines, birds, snakes, tortoises, panda, and a sad looking tiger in a way too small enclosure. The pandas exhibit seems larger than the tigers area. Ive been here a few times throughout my life and every time I to it gets more depressing. The kids enjoyed themselves however, even if it was a quick tour.

We have a yearly pass and its more than paid for itself. They feed the animals in the morning so get there when it opens. A whole walk through will take you less than 45 mins but the kids like it. Some construction going on currently but doesnt effect any of the exhibits.

Fun little zoo we stopped at on the way back from a road trip. Animals were all alert and moving around. Well maintained. Loved the Red Pandas exhibit and the Malayan Tiger. I’ve visited this zoo occasionally over the years and I’m always pleased to be reminded what a nice place it is, with well cared for animals in comfortable settings. The flamingos are awesome and so are the various monkeys, birds, owls, and marsupials. But the best is the tiger if you can catch him in an active mood, like we did last time. Small kids will love it here, fun for parents too.

This Zoo is a joke. It is extremely sad. My heart goes out to the tiger there. I grew up going to this zoo. The tigers theyve had have never looked well. I mean, look at their enclosure. How is this humane? Awful. Wish they would find a bigger plot of land and move somewhere else local with many acres.

This zoo is right next to a park. It is a small zoo, their biggest animal is the tiger. There are other smaller animals like snakes, birds, lemurs, etc. There is no food vendors in there, just some popsicles in the gift shop. We went through the whole zoo in about 20 minutes. I enjoyed my quick visit.

I was very pleasantly surprised by this zoo. Although small, I saw animals I had never seen or heard of before. There is a new enclosure being built for the Red Panda to be completed by the end of 2017. The king vultures were colorful and interesting. They also had an anteater, wallabies, lemurs and monkeys. Other animals that I cant remember the names of were also on display. Per the signage, many of the animals are being kept for the sake of protecting the species as they are becoming rare to almost extinct. This is certainly worth the $7.00 admission fee.

A small, but very good zoo. I believe they said they were the smallest accredited zoo in the nation. You can experience the whole zoo in about 2 hours. The zoo is clean and well kept. Zoo staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The animals are clearly well cared for. I got there at opening and the magnificent Malayan Tiger was active. He was playing with the pool of water in his enclosure and was taking a curious interest in the people watching him. The have a nice red panda exhibit to and serval other mammals, primates, reptiles and birds. Certainly worth seeing.
