What an adorable trolley! The conductor was the sweetest, funniest, classiest gentleman. The little history bits were great, and they let all of the children have a turn turning the wheel and ringing the bell! Must do if you visit Astoria.

A great way to spend an hour! Run by volunteers, this little trolley runs east/west along Astorias waterfront. The volunteers know a lot about the history and are funny too. Family-friendly and a great way to spend an hour for only $1.

When we went to Astoria the bridge was closed due to construction so the trolley was only running a short distance. It was free and taking donations, so we just left a $5 donation. Cheap entertainment. Kids enjoyed it for a little bit, but my one year old started to get fussy after awhile. You can ask the driver to let you off along the route if you prefer.

Great price. Too bad repairs limited our ride...

The only reason I cut a star is for the distance covered it is little slow (1hr roundtrip). Im more into hopping on cablecars .. this train crawls.. but obviously for families with children and elderly this is a trade-off. The volunteer conductors/guides are knowledgeable and fun.

Great trip back in history. Gave it a 4 star because I am tall (65) and could not fit in any of the regular hard wooden benches. My GF is 61 and could just barely fit.The conductor was kind enough to allow me to stand and just hang onto the metal pole which was a welcome change. The tour guides are wonderful and really know their stuff.

Great way to see the Astoria waterfront and kill an hour. Reasonable rates and informative chatter from the conductor. Be sure to visit the museum and across the street is one of the best fish n chips joint anywhere. They serve you a 5 piece (tuna but very moist and tastes more like halibut) with fresh fries for $13! Long lines in the summer and open Wednesday through Saturday only. Bowpicker fish n chips. Dont miss it! Trolley is packed in the summer. Kids love it. Best dollar you can spend!

Cant really review it. it was not running on the day we were there even though the website said it was. We rode a bus there with the thought the trolley would be a major part of our day.

Relaxing way to view a working seaport. Wildlife, sea traffic, working fishing port, plus vast historical connections to the development of the area.

Review №32

This is a great way to see the whole waterfront. Tickets are $1 and it can get packed. The conductors give great background on the history of the city as well as tips on current sights and places to eat and drink. It’s easy to get on and off too, though it’s tough to know where the train is (even with the website GPS). So we sorta just wandered along the tracks until the train came. Worth it if you can find it!

My wife and I rode this and had a lot of fun. The only issue we had was that it was crowded, but you know what, it happens. We understood that and werent terribly bothered by it. We rode it all the way from one end of the line to the other and almost all the way back again, before stopping for lunch. The day before, we had walked along the Riverwalk and had a lot of questions about some of the buildings, and some of the things you see in the water, and between the before lunch ride, and the after lunch ride, they all got answered by the super knowledgeable volunteers. Its a great value for a very small price.

Great trolley tour with interesting information the canneries and wood pilings in the river that the town used to be based on. Wait time for the trolley was a little long. Many great thins to see in Astoria including Astoria has the Goonies House, Column, and many restaurants, coffee shops, Shallon Winery...Nearby, Seaside is a great ocean beach community, carnival like community, with paddle boarding and skim boarding opportunities as well as a unique golf courseAbout ten miles away is Fort Stevens State Park with weekly bird tours, daily kayak tours, junior ranger sessions in the summer, bike rentals, clamming, beaching, hiking...Connected to Fort Stevens State Park is Historic Fort Stevens museum and gift shop. Although moderate sized, both are very nice. The museum also hosts ticketed truck (army personnel carrier) tours of the military installations.
