My family went before there. I was first time skate in 10 or 12 years old, learn skate so good balance body. So fun day. Now out of business and gone.

Ive been skating at Tarwheels since I was 7 and its definitely changed a lot since then! The rental skates are not easy to skate in and just uncomfortable in general, so I would recommend investing in your own skates. The overall atmosphere of the rink is pretty nice, with the music and lights etc.. Its a great place to hang out with some friends or just to skate.

WARNING !!!!! visitors , vacationers and tourists this is not I repeat THIS IS NO LONGER A SKATING RINK !!!!!. I honestly dont know why this label is even still on here. It was a very sad day when this place closed as a rink. I am writing this review not because of the current occupants of the building but because of the fact that the skating rink couldnt make it for some strange reason and in the Asheville area of all places. I dont know if it was a lack of the locals getting out and supporting their skating rink or if it was bad ownership and/or bad management or a combination of all three. But whatever it was something went terribly wrong because in an area with a sizeable town like Asheville let alone a trendy town at that this place should have made it no problem as a skating rink. To this day I am still deeply disappointed that this happened at least there are other options not too far from here.

The staff isnt very friendly. The place could use some updating. The rental skates are the worst feeling skates Ive ever had on my feet. We met a few people there and all of us were charged a different fee to enter. I guess they just decide what to charge based on looks, I dont know. The rink, lights and music were great though.

I went not to long ago it does stink but the experience is really fun

Cool place to skate, although it smells like dirty feet. Also, theres literally no way to figure out what time they are open except through calling (which leaves you with a voicemail 99% of the time).
