This was an exceptional COVID hotel experience. This is a full service hotel and the valets and bellhops take their jobs very seriously. I don’t know if I’ve met a friendlier group of people. The old school, original Otis elevator is very small, but very cool all at the same time. We enjoyed the variety of restaurants, marketplace and bars at the hotel. Of all the servers we encountered, there was only one bad experience. It was disappointing, but not bad enough to downgrade my rating of this hotel. We did venture down to the spa, but did not have any treatments. On our next trip, the spa will be on our agenda. And if you’re lucky, you’ll get to see a black bear foraging in the bushes close to the front door!

Our stay was the good as it always has been. However the staff are really ride to guests that even take down their masks for even a few seconds. I couldnt believe the way they talked to paying customers. I agree with wearing masks but, the way I kept hearing the staff speak to people who had mask down for just a few seconds even, where disrespectful, a couple where uncalled for. I seen one almost turn into a fight, and another guest that got threatened to be removed. It was for my wife and kids. Causing us to leave because my daughter felt unsafe. Such a beautiful and awesome place, lots of great memories there. Its never been like this before.

This is a beautiful hotel and the staff are wonderful. The rooms are OK but the room I was put in had a sticky substance on the window and the chairs in the room were visibly dirty (white chairs with brown stains). Additionally, the floor I was on had a STRONG smell of chlorine (floor 4 - Vanderbilt Wing).PRICE GOUGING:The hotel charge $30 dollars for their breakfast buffet, this would be a reasonable price if high quality foods were provided (meat, fish, etc) but the quality of the food was no better than what would be expected at a Holiday Inn free breakfast buffet or a Cracker Barrel. BUT it doesnt end here, the hotel wants $2 for a mask. $2 for something that is MANDATED by the government (this isnt an anti-masker thing, its just ridiculous that for upwards of $500 a night, masks are not free). Overall, great hotel in a great location with great, friendly employees. Just terribly anti-consumer policies. Open your wallet and grab your ankles if you plan on staying here.

The Inn itself never disappoints. It is a wonderful place to spend with family and friends for the holidays. The seafood dinner, however, was a thorough disappointment. Our disappointment was seen, addressed, and partially remedied by wonderful staff, particularly Anna, the Assistant Mgr.The disappointment was from the absolute lack of quality of the food presented in the very very small amount of options. I understand that we are all in this together regarding pandemic and that it has affected each and every one of us in our businesses. However, the restaurant should not still be charging $50 a head when the food that is provided is worth less than $20 per person.

No question the place is beautiful and has amazing views. But the Sunday buffet was very disappointing. The price is higher than ever but there was only half the variety. No breads and really no salads. This used to be an amazing brunch. I understand that covid is here, but then at least up your game. I had the eggs Benedict with a very very thin piece of ham on a Biscuit. To add insult on top of the whole experience i had to pay for valet to eat at their restaurant. I guess they dont want the public eating their. I suggest another choice for Sunday brunch.

We had a wonderful stay at the Omni Grove Park Inn despite some of the restrictions because of the pandemic. Some of the restaurants were closed and others only allowed half capacity, but you could order take out to eat in your room. We ate at the Sunset Terrace, Blue Ridge and Edison. We ordered take out from Edison 3 times! There was no room service either. We spent a wonderful afternoon in there gorgeous spa. Our room had a beautiful view of the Blue Ridge Mountains and the golf course. My husband and I would open the windows to enjoy the view when we read books. It was a very relaxing stay.

The place is beautiful, pricey, the food was pretty good just really salty (I am not big on a lot of salt). However, after dinner, we went to the bar for a cocktail....well, that was when the star rating goes down. Hey ladies, if you want your husband groped by a bar waitress named Christine, then this the the place for you! She was all over our neighbors husband, put her arm around his neck, got right up in his face, had her body all pushed up on him FYI: I guess covid didnt matter to her but her tip did! Well, then we bought one round and guess what, yup, same thing to my husband because he was holding the debit card, he didnt want to leave her even 50 cents! Well, lets just say, I will be making a phone call tomorrow. I didnt realize this place hired this kind and that we had to watch our husbands being touched and rubbed on. She made all 4 of us very uncomfortable! Unbelievable behavior!

The restaurants are fantastic and the dueling piano lounge is a lot of fun! And you need to spend at least one entire day at the world class spa. Even my husband loves it! Check in was easy and there was a small problem with my room which weirdly enough the lady next to me was having too (possibly a booking glitch?). We had mixed experiences. Our room was kinda funky. Lights not working, no nightlight in bathroom, asked for a room with a view, no view, zero view, no real bathroom door, weird sliding door that didnt work properly, sad chairs in the room, no towel bars, short supply of towels. I could go on, but I wont. That said, the staff was helpful and friendly. We did have comfortable beds, hot water, central ac/heat. The food was outstanding. We were not advised booking our stay that veranda dining reservations a few weeks out are necessary. But honestly I think its partly our fault for not knowing that because of covid-19 they have cut from 150 to 75 guests out there, so please if you are reading this and veranda dining is important to you make reservations accordingly. I do hope you go, but without too high of expectations. Just enjoy the history of the place, and relax.

Prices are very high, a glass of wine $18 and the have very few outdoor sitting area but they have many indoor seating chairs, is reccomend it to get earlier and reservations need it. The formal dining restaurant is very casual, small dishes and over priced meal; $75 for deer or $99 entrecot. We did not stay at the resort and my rating is for the dining experience in the Blue Ridge only. Let me preface by saying that the venue itself is beautiful, the concept of separate food stations had the capacity to be a novel and inspiring experience, and our service was outstanding. With that said and with no intention to be unkind, I can say with all sincerity that my husband and I agreed that most fast food had more taste than what we ate. It was our 37th wedding anniversary and we expected a lovely formal meal. What we got was a plate of cold or lukewarm foods that seemed unseasoned, bland, and aesthetically unappealing on the plate. I did not avail myself of the Asian station (which seems to have substituted for a pasta option) and, therefore, the only other hot vegetable available that night were peas in the pod that I suspect were meant to be blanched. They literally still had the woody stems and tips on them-all of them!- (I discovered when I choked on them) and were as crunchy and verdant as when plucked from the garden. A blue cheese and pecan wedge salad literally left a pool of water on my plate and I counted two specks of blue cheese and half a pecan in the whole serving. It had zero taste. I exaggerate not. Cocktails were all ice and fruit juice and horribly expensive! A preschooler could have enjoyed them. The desserts were beautiful to look at, but even they seemed to taste a lot alike. I hesitate to sound snarky, as my son is a chef in a high-end bistro in Ohio and I know adjustments to menus are being made during Covid-19. However, I do think care can be taken in the prep of food so it is at least eatable. We did not have a late evening reservation which might have explained some deficits. Most of our very expensive meal was left uneaten on our plate.

This place is certainly beautiful. When you pay the price here you would expect a comfortable bed, our bed was awful. I didnt sleep the 3 nights we were here. Also, with the price you would expect a King bed, no it was a queen. Also, to use the gym you have to use the spa, we were told you could ask one of the employees and they would unlock it for us. Im fine with paying money if a place is worth it, but GPI needs to lower their prices or make improvements.

I was impressed with the Omni Hotels Commitment to Clean and the protocols they had listed on their website so my husband and I decided to make the trip. I have heard great things about Grove Park and was excited to try it out.Upon arrival, it was clear we were going to be exposed to COVID-19. The furniture in the lobby was definitely not spaced for social distancing. Every day we encountered guests who were combatant and rude to associates when asked to wear a mask. There were guests everywhere who did not have a mask on properly but were not addressed by staff. The property simply told me, guests dont have to wear masks while eating or drinking so they excused guests from wearing masks as long as they were holding a glass of wine or cup of coffee. The scene in the lobby and the sunset terrace looked just like old times. If you have stayed at this property I encourage you to quarantine and get a COVID test to prevent the spread. If you want to catch COVID, I recommend staying at the Main Inn and making sure you get a spot in front of the fireplace.

I was really looking forward to a special weekend getaway in the mountains at this infamous resort. But I have to say I was disappointed with the accommodations. Everyone was very friendly and I had a great time with my group. However, the hotel is extremely overpriced. I do not mind paying luxury prices for high end accomodations. But at the Grove Park you pay luxury prices for a small room that is not comfortable (too soft mattresses and pillows and a comforter that is as thin as a sheet), with very basic furnishings. The showers are very small and awkward for me at 5’10 and it takes several minutes for the water to heat up. We ate at their restaurants both nights which were very good. However, upon check out several people in our group noticed that the dinner charges had been charged to the wrong people and I had an incorrect charge to my room (which I discovered before check out). I would probably give it another try if they did a major overhaul to the rooms.

There are, arguably, only 2 places to stay in Asheville - the Grove Inn or the Biltmore Estate. Come to the Grove Inn to understand what may have brought people from across the east here to experience the crisp mountain air. These are two completely different experiences, though. The Biltmore is Disneyland. The Grove Inn is all about the sunset; perched on a steep mountainside, the rooms are all BELOW the lobby level with a panoramic view of the Blue Ridge and Asheville below. Be aware: this is a tourist attraction and many people come here for happy hour cocktails and to watch the sunset.Try and get your room in the Vanderbilt wing. The Sammons wing, while architecturally the same, is a much further walk from the main hotel, lobby and amenities. In addition, the Sammons wing parking is much more difficult to access with a lower ceiling; problem for SUVs. The swimming pool and fitness center are in a different building entirely; quite a walk from the Sammons wing, but even for the Vanderbilt wing. The designers sacrificed what would have been a great public pool area at the foot of the mountain for a private spa, so you have to, effectively, leave the resort to go to what is a neighborhood gym.The distance of amenities and the long lines for morning coffee at the resort store, are the only obvious shortcomings. But thats not why you come here. It is a wonderful, historic place with updated comfortable rooms.

I am aghast at the horrible treatment by the staff at this hotel. As many reviewers have stated, the prices are very high but the views make it worth the stay. Based on this, we nevertheless decided to book 3 nights as we dont mind paying high prices for what we expect to be quality facilities and service in return. Well, how wrong we were with the Omni Grove Park! The rooms are small and mediocre at best with well-worn and damaged furniture. And this in what are described as premium rooms.Upon check-in, I informed the desk staff that my father has mobility issues and that we require rooms with reasonable accessibility. Instead, we were placed in rooms in the most remote part of the hotel. When I asked for a more accessible room, the answer was no and that no further help could or would be provided in this regard. So much for the ADA!Once we finally arrived at the rooms and saw how lacking they were, I returned to the front desk to cancel the remainder of the reservation. The front desk clerk did adjust the reservation accordingly and agreed to refund the unused parts of the reservation. This was and is appreciated.Nevertheless, I did request to speak to someone more senior about the quality of the rooms and the exorbitant rate we were being charged. I received a call from the Front Desk Manager who insisted that the hotel had done enough for us already, and that we had no basis on which to complain further. This struck me as a VERY strange thing for someone in guest relations and customer service to say, so I requested that she have her senior call me to discuss my concerns. The Front Desk Manager refused then hung up on me. Having just paid $1200 for 2 rooms for 1 night, I find this behavior beyond reprehensible. This property obviously does not care about its customers experience or disability challenges. The only bright spark was the hostess at the restaurant who listened empathetically and apologized for our disappointing experience. It is for her alone that I even considered giving a one-star rating. Without her, rating would be negative 10!This property is only about maximizing its profits by jamming as many people through as possible and not its guest experience or welfare. Definitely DO NOT recommend.

The food was ok, neither of our dishes were cooked properly and we waited 22 min from being seated until the first person talked to us which didn’t sit well with us. The spa is cool looking and worth the photo-op. The golf course is nice and well maintained. My wife and I are in our young 30s and it’s probably for an older age group. There are a number of bars and even an amazing spa! The staff is very friendly and helping. The rooms are nice and the beds are comfortable. I look forward to coming back again!

This was by far one of the most outstanding venues I have ever visited. The hotel is spectacular but the grounds are even better!! I did not stay the there but I did enjoy the property and also enjoyed dining in their restaurant. The fish I had was beyond delicious, so fresh and tasty. The service was very good to!

The hotel (Main Building) is beautiful and the views were spectacular. We ate at two of the restaurants and the food was great, especially at the Edison. Due to COVID restrictions, reserving a table was the most frustrating part but this was not a planned trip. I now know next time to make dinner reservations when I make my hotel reservation. My room was ok, it served the purpose but nothing to write home about. There was an issue with a bug (it was huge and it got away by scurrying under the baseboard) and the hotel offered to spray my room but not move me so, I was not impressed with that result. I declined, not wanting to have a chemical sprayed in my room with 3 more days left of my stay. Lastly, I went to the Marketplace Store inside the restaurant on my last night. The doors were closed but three young females were in there cleaning, I’m assuming after their shift. I knocked hoping to make an emergency purchase but instead of telling me sorry we are closed, they decided that it was funny to laugh and ignore a customer.I do plan to return for another stay yes but I will not spend another dime in the Marketplace Store.

Incredible historic Inn in Asheville. Great service. Food and drinks are excellent. Dining furniture on both open porch restaurants needs to be replaced. Its unacceptable and not in keeping with the consistent quality of this Inn.Patrons need to be made to follow Covid19 precautions, evidently some cant comprehend.

Not a lot of the amenities are available during Covid restrictions. The Hotel is beautiful, cant get a better scenery. Didnt get to try any of the full service restaurants as majority of them are closed. Staff was very friendly, very helpful.

Stunning setting overlooking the mountains. Nice indoor/outdoor seating. Perfect place to grab a cocktail and sit by the fireplace or enjoy the sunshine. Only giving a #4 since we did not stay there overnight; unsure of room accommodations.

I have stated here many times in the past and always enjoyed myself. However, during COVID much has changed and I would not recommend spending the money for half amenities. The spa is reduced capacity and full most days of our stay, they are not offering day passes and the therapeutic waterfall pools are closed. They are not offering room service. Some restaurants are not open and all are reduced capacity so reservations are difficult to obtain. No glassware provided in room including coffee mugs. But, the views are still amazing and cannot be paralleled.

I’ve been to hundreds of hotels. Some VERY nice ones. But The Grove Park Inn is hands down my favorite. From the small details to the big ones this place has it all. Great restaurants, great rooms, INCREDIBLE atmosphere/ambiance, AMAZING views, neat shops, the best breakfast buffet in the state and most importantly there is not a better Spa in the country.I would absolutely live in this hotel if I could. Whether it’s a romantic getaway, something with the family or a place to have your business meeting this is the place!
