Its a small, intimate performance space for emerging artists to present their latest works, I recommend it for anyone wanting to put on a small-scale show

Such a great place to be entertained. The fold out chairs remind me how much i take comfort for granted too. Really makes you focus on the great actors.

I laughed so hard that my face hurt! The show we saw was full of talented actors, and so much creativity! I have no idea who thought up all of the stage props oh, but we saw airplanes, high speed chase, and so much more! Guaranteed fun as long as you have a good sense of humor!

Great little theatre Would have gotten 5 stars only if you are sitting in the back the seating isnt sloped enough. Resulting in not able to see anything happening on the stage floor due to people blocking the view.

Four stars of Acclaim for the actors, director, stage crew and ticketing staff. The only negative attribute is the seating design. The slope of elevation from the stage makes it hard to see the stage from beyond the first several rows, even for a 6 foot tall person like me.

Wonderful relatively small community theatre hosting huge talent and sensibility. We just saw Washington Place. David Brendan Hopes story about the imagined lives of some of the young women who perished in the 1911 Triangle Garment Company fire in NYC. Beautifully done. I would go see it again just to try to take it all in. Dont miss it!

This theatre reminds me of the Off-Off Broadway theatres located on 42nd Street in Manhattan. It is the only (theatre with a home in Asheville) that produces new & original works. This is the type of theatre a community should support. Lots of little jewels and great plays spawn from the opportunity to be produced. I look forward to seeing their continual evolution!

The first time I saw When Jekyll Met Hyde, I didnt know what to expect. I didnt even know it would be a comedy, given the title. However, The Magnetic Theatre is known for producing stellar original work, so I took a chance. This play is not only hilarious, it hits several genres of humor, and it hits them hard. The script juggles between a sharp wit and the absurd. The high level of physical comedy would not be possible without such an immensely skilled cast. There were times when the audience could not stop laughing, and the performer onstage was merely delivering the right look. The script was more than funny. It was raucous, bawdy, filled with plot twists, and so wonderful that I had to see it again. It will close on October 29th, and I will be there to see it a third time. The Magnetic Theatres next play isnt a comedy, although I have no doubt that I will enjoy The Night of the Living Dead - The Redux just as much.

With a title like, Stupid F’ing Bird, I thought I was in for an evening of comedy. Not so. But in a good way. Certainly the performance included some humor, but the underlying message was the pain of unreciprocated love. The acting was uncomfortably brilliant. The audience was pulled into the desires, fantasies, fears and phobias of each actor, touching nerves and memories long buried and forgotten. Many plays entertain, some make me think, Stupid F’ing Bird made me feel. Go. Be prepared to be moved.
