This place was awesome! You can take a class and make an ornament, marble, or other glass items. The prices arent to much and if you want to learn how to do this long term then you can take multiple classes over a few weeks. They also sell various glass creations and this is a fun little spot to check out if you are downtown Asheville! Make sure to call ahead and book the classes as if you have a lot of people you will want to reserve some spots.

I took my mom here for her birthday, she made a cup and I made an ornament. This place was amazing we had so much fun I will definitely come back in the summer for my birthday. The instructor was wonderful and the entire staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. It was amazing to see the glass transform and what the colors looked like in the end after we swirled them around.

This place is amazing! It made my childhood dreams come true: actually blowing glass! I signed up for the 30 minute make your own, and I made a wine glass. My husband made a rocks glass. We got to pick what we made (a cup, ornament, or paperweight) and then pick what colors we wanted. Joe was super helpful in picking out the right color combination, especially in regards to clear and opaque colors. We got to take part in every step of the process (except a few that takes more skill like gathering the glass and starting the first bubble). The 30 minutes flew by, and I made a huge and beautiful wine glass. Pick up is next day, and if you are unable to pick it up then you can have it mailed. Ive looked many places at glass blowing classes and honestly this place has some of the best prices Ive ever seen. I will definitely be back here again in the future! Highlight of our honeymoon!

I have always been fascinated by glass blown art and the process used to make it. After watching the Netflix reality series “Blown Away” I became more intrigued. This Christmas my daughter presented me with a 3 hour “A Feel For The Furnace” hot shop class taught by Haley. The class was fantastic. It is amazing what I was able to learn and make in that short 3 hour period. Best of all they make sure that you learn the safe way to work with and move around the shop with molten glass on the end of a metal rod. My goal now is to sign up for a full weekend class and to learn more about making glass art.

This and other studios in this River Arts District is what makes North Carolina The Creative State. See map and brochure on line or pick up a hard copy at most any of the studios. Most of the studios are working studios. At the Glass Center you can see the artists at work and/or take a class or make your own.A truly unique environment and a great way to spend the day!

3 of us took a class. Super cool experience. One on one training for about 30 minutes each. The teacher was very hands on, but we also were active participants. We all walked away with one whiskey, and 2 wine glasses. There were other options too like tumblers, hanging ornaments, etc. Well probably take another class at Christmas when we all get together. Perhaps a new hobby? Highly recommended experience for anyone.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience here! My husband and I had a blast! It was a great way to try something new, to learn about a craft, and to work with local artists. Our instructor was amazing - he explained things beautifully and was patient. My husband made a paper weight and I made a drinking glass. We love looking at those pieces and remembering what a unique experience we had. I highly recommend!

The people of North Carolina Glass Center are exactly what I would expect of Asheville: humble, kind, and polite. Although I showed up an hour before closing time, they were able to squeeze me in a class so I could make a gift for my mother. My instructor, Haley, was just as fun as she was informative!!

Had an amazing experience today. This time was a lot more hands on than my last trip and a great first for my little sister. KC did an awesome job making us feel comfortable and confident while handling the molten glass. We were able to do about 90% of the work ourselves, and are already planning our next trip to the glass center.

So my husband and I went here yesterday for the 30 minute hot shop make your own class. Since we booked the class, we were looking forward to it like kids looking forward to Christmas. We were not disappointed!! Beautiful gallery, friendly staff, awesome instructor, perfectly located in the River Art district and lots of fun!! Katherine was our instructor who was fun, informative and just overall a super cool gal. My husband made a tumbler and I made an ornament. Hands down probably one of the neatest things we’ve done in Asheville! Not to mention you have a unique piece of art made by you!! I’m so pleased with our experience. Highly recommend!!!

Amazing! Amazing! We were in the Asheville for a few days and decided to take glass blowing lessons at the NC Glass Center. We had read about the center and seen information on TV - and the experience was better than we could have expected! Truly a five-outta-five!Admittedly, I was a bit nervous about the adventure, but Stephanie, our glass specialist, was wonderful. She talked through each step with me, had a picture guide to help and supported me each step of the way! She was so awesome! Beyond the crafting, we had great conversation about the area, North Carolina in general - while she guided me and cheered me on! I should say one more time...Stephanie was awesome! Each of us had a 1/2 hr session with Stephanie and each made an amazing cup/tumbler (mine is already filled with flowers & sitting on our table!). We are already talking about going back to try a new project! Thanks NC Glass Center and Stephanie!

My husband and I took a spontaneous 3 day trip to Asheville and came upon the flyer for NC Glass center at the restaurant we had dinner at. I immediately did research online and signed up for a class the following day. Mike was the amazing instructor who provided the excellent hands on experience. Be prepared to experience heat, and if you have long hair like myself, bring a hair tie. This is the fastest 30 minutes of your life and such an adrenaline rush. Mike is an amazing instructor and very knowledgeable of the whole process. I made the paper weight and you can see some of the steps and the final result. From picking the colors to doing a part in every step, its an experience of a lifetime youll never forget.

They will be shipping my ornament to me so there’s no worry getting it to Oregon in one piece!Thank you NC Glass Center and especially Mat.

I was looking for something fun to do with my girlfriend in town because we were new to the area and stumbled upon NC Glass Center. I had always been intrigued with glass blowing and thought it sounded awesome. Alison was our instructor and it was an amazingly cool experience. You do it all yourself (under close supervision)! We each made a glass, which I would recommend, and they are both imperfect and incredibly unique! I have recommended this to so many people because it was so fun and Alison is a great teacher and very passionate about what she does. It is a must-do for sure!!

Our teenagers (18 &17) were instructed by Ben. He was very patient & worked wonderfully with inexperienced hands. He walked them through each step & was very helpful with suggesting the best colors to use for their vision. When we had to return to Georgia because of a family emergency, the representative, Im so I dont remember your name, helped me tremendously to have their masterpieces shipped. Each point of contact in this experience from paying, to the class it self, and to unplanned shipping was great! Thank You, ALL!

Was really an amazing time. Artist was super friendly, walked through every step before we did it and really worked well with me to make my own glass. This was one of my bucket list items and Im thrilled I did it here. I plan on doing one of their weekend workshops in the future. Was such a blast, cant wait to pick up my glass tomorrow! One thing to note, when they say no synthetic fabrics, make sure you listen. I didnt (even though they made it clear) and I got a melted spot on my shorts. Completely my fault but the Artist was so apologetic. My four and seven year olds loved to watch their mom and dad make them too from the sidelines (with grandpa to supervise.)

The wanted to charge me over 200.00 for a thin globe with an opening on each end, even after I said I didnt want anything artistic, just a simple globe of glass when they have intricates on the wall for like 25.00 the lady up front was insulting and I refuse to do business with that form of negativity. Thanks but no thanks NCGCEdit: I just bought an exact replica for 36.15 and I was willing to pay up to 100.00 to these guys to fix the candle holder. 200.00 was outrageous. Greed gets you nowhere, learn to be customer centric.
