I was looking for a creative gift for my wife and getting activities at Hot Sand was a great decision. I wasnt sure exactly how to get the best experience for her birthday so I reached out to them and they quickly responded. I scheduled individual activities for a few people so we all had an opportunity to make something. It also gave us an opportunity to see how each glass creation was made. The instructors, Ariel and Matt, were great and really helped guide the process along while making sure we felt involved even though (for safety reasons) they were doing the bulk of the sculpting. I would certainly recommend this to anyone looking for an outside-of-the-box gift or even a fun date idea.

What an awesome experience! Everyone there is calm, friendly and knowledge. They know all the answers about anything glass and they are happy to share what they know. They are so talented and creative and guide you through the process as you blow life into the liquid sand to create your own beautiful piece. A gift certificate for this awesome experience is a unique gift to give anyone. I would do it again in a heartbeat. You get to pick what you want to make and the colors you want. Everything turns out beautiful, something you will treasure forever.

Took a group of 8 here. The staff is very patient and accommodating. It was educational and interesting. My kids enjoyed it and look forward to seeing the finished pieces! FYI- the staff does 90%+ of the actual work as it is crazy hot and dangerous. They sit with you and explain, while you observe and you do just enough work to make you feel like you did something! Also made me feel better that the staff were with my kids entire time, so no one was hurt in process!

This was a lot of fun. I brought 5 11 year old girls and they loved it. Staff was amazing. I highly recommend making a reservation. And it is not inexpensive but...worth it. You have to go back a week later to pick up your work. Be prepared for that.

Neat shop. The glass blowing was a plus. It wasnt time consuming at all and fairly priced. **Super easy I just received the finished product. They are hollow and it has a round opening on the bottom so you can add a flameless candle or a light.

We bought our four dogs to Hot Sand to have their paws imprinted in glass. The entire staff was so accommodating to help us get the best paw prints we could from our fickle dogs. I would recommend Hot Sand to anyone looking for a unique experience or gift. I also attended a childs birthday party at Hot Sand and the glass blowers had all the children intrigued and engaged. The entire staff is very friendly, knowledgeable and passionate about glass blowing. As far as I know there is no other place like this in NJ, that is why we drove an hour and a half to visit Hot Sand.

Got a friend a workshop making a Pumpkin. The space is very open and friendly. The staff were kind and easy to work with. The glassblower teaching the private workshop was very knowledgable and engaging - the only thing we didnt expect was how little our friend would get to do the actual hands-on handling of the glass. The instructor did 95% of the work - our friend got to blow air into the piece a few times, but largely was watching and listening next to the teacher. Just something to be aware of if you book a one-time beginners workshop like that.

So many beautiful pieces being sold there and if you take a walk in class, you end up with a beautiful piece that you made yourself.I never ever write reviews but:Despite all that, Im giving it 2 stars because my husband and my friend and I think the prices were a little much. Every little thing added up. I made a bubble which was shaped into a vase. I had to pay extra for each color (kind of understandable but not for $7.50 per color), pay for each twist of color (another $7.50), and then I had to pay for the flattening of the vase bottom ($10! For just taking a wood paddle and putting up against the hot glass). The bubble sizes are small, large, and XL. My friend chose a small and I chose a large upon the suggestion of the glass blower so my design would show better.HERES WHAT IRKED ME ENOUGH TO WANT TO GIVE A ONE STAR REVIEW: my large bubble turned out to be $68 PLUS tax. My friends small bubble was $48 plus tax. When picking up the pieces, my friends small vase and my large vase were the same size. So I just paid like $30 (if you include the tax) extra for the same size piece.Very very upset about the prices. Although the pieces did turn out beautifully....not worth the money.

This place was fun! We learned a lot about blowing glass, and got to participate in the process. The only reason I didnt give them a full 5 stars is because I wish there was a way to have been more hands on with the process. Its not that cheap, so I wouldnt go often, but I recommend going at least once. Also, they take walk ins. Most items you can make on the walk in list only take about 30 minutes (just make sure to show up at least 30 minutes or more before closing.

I always wanted to go but couldnt afford it until Groupon. They had very strict rules for Groupon. So when I showed up and I wasnt treated very well due to the coupon.I got very discouraged. They wouldnt allow me to upgrade the coupon to get what I wanted. Then came in Bonnie. She was great. She came up with a plan on how to adjust what I could get with the Groupon and still work within their rules. She was great and she saved the day for me & my daughter. I am very happy with Hot Sand and would love to return but only if I get Bonnie again.
