Very nice park down by 4 mile run and the bike trail. Big picnic pavilion with bathrooms, two play areas with slides, swings, sand box and benches tables. Close to the dog park too. Some limited parking is available near the park. Other parking is available at the top of the hill, or near the dog park.

Fancy slides and swings and sand pit. Come prepared for dirty kids if in the sand. And wet if jumping in the stream. You can also stay dry if you make them.

Two ped & bike bridges washed away in recent storm, removed old one, but not seen when rebuilding plans. Nearby rest rooms closed right after reconstruction including picnic pavilion and put up chemical toilets. If going from w&od outbound bad hills as work around out to South Carlyn Springs road by the nature center and two schools... Water cleanliness of streams and reports on here of needles & condoms in dog park water, so beware, when not raw sewage from pipe breaks, etc. Low concrete bridges flood out, but high w&od usually ok. Big hills into and out of besides w&od rail trail (east west ish). Update: adding some off color stream day photos

Nice rest area on W&OD biking and hiking trail. However, the restrooms are closed for repair and the park have two portable potties next to restrooms. This park have vehicle access with few parking spots. I found electric outlets in the shelter. Stream pass through the park and I am not sure on how safe the water for consumption. Picnic shelter is beautiful and I believe it is open for public.

This is one of those parks your kids will remember fondly as they grow. Its perfect for kids ages one and eight. The park has a locked gate and so its very safe for them since they cant just walk off because of the fenced in area. For older kids, as well as grown ups, theres basement and plenty of run around land

Great playground. I only give it four stars because two of the bridges to access it were carried away in the summer storms, and havent yet been replaced.

The picnic shelter is under renovations. So far it looks AWESOME! Also happy they were able to preserve mature trees during construction. The shelter should be open to the public by this Spring. This is a wonderfully wooded park and the new shelter will blend in very nicely.

Great dog park for off leash adventures. Doggo can play in the creek and run around the woods and chase squirrels. Plenty of parking in multiple small lots. If one is full, keep looking! Permanent cleaned bathrooms and some port a potties scattered around. Plus pavilions and grills available, some by reservation. Check online for deets.

Needs the two bridges replaced after the storm in summer... Bathrooms at the pavilion too. Got directions/reminder/companion the other day walking along the dog path and that one bridge still exists, had forgotten it was even there its been so long... Some kids hang out and missing critters, so not sure whats up with that... Park bathrooms open again, yeah. SunRise to SunSet +/-.

Best offleash dog park in the greater DC area. Not only does it have rivers to swim/play in but half of it is a giant hill so your dogs are guaranteed to get worn out. Beware though, there arent any fences around the outside so might not be good for dogs who arent trained yet or subject to bolt.

Kids love the playground equipment. There are swings and a little sand box as well. There are restrooms that are maintained well. The only reason for 4 stars is this park is located along a bike trail and some of the bicyclists ride very fast and are somewhat aggressive, so make sure your kids dont venture near the path.

This is a great dog park. Unlike other parks in the area, there are very few dogs here most of the time. The busiest Ive ever seen it is around 4 or 5 dogs. There is quite a bit of space, somewhat clear flat space right in the entrance, as well as some wooded trails in surrounding hills. Beware, the boundaries of the park are unfenced, so you will need to keep an eye on your dog.

Best dog park in the DC Metro area! Its not fenced in, which scared me at first, but the river on one side and trees on the other seem to keep dogs from going very far. My dog had a great time swimming and running around. Also saw lots of kids playing on the playground nearby, which looked like a great place for families. Hidden gem in Arlington, a short drive or nice run from the Clarendon/Courthouse area.

DO NOT go to the dog park from 2:30-3 pm on school days. This was one of my favorite places to go on the trails, use the dog park, have my 2 year old go on the playground. I had no problem going on my own with no protection but my 60 lb dog; until today.Around 2:45 some kids from Kenmore Middle School were cutting through the trees to go home. A few boys started screaming profanities and lewd comments at me. They threaten to kill my infant and threw rocks at us.I called the police to see if they could patrol the area at that time.Be careful.
