I have been here for 2 performances, one in particular exceptional and unique, “The Tempest” by Shakespeare. Dark, mysterious and dramatic all perform in a 10” or so water stage. My favorites were the sorcerers, Ariel and demon, was an epic well train battle, which require hours of practice, the prompts, background and indumentaria were realistic and well done. As well saw “Snow Queen” very very good. Congrats guys for all that effort that pays back, will be memories never forgotten.

Easily the best kept secret in the DC metro area. Probably the best theater in the DC area. Famous for their amazing sets, kinetic dance, Avant garde productions, and intimate seating, a Synetic Theater production is not to be missed. Try a silent Shakespeare -- a company speciality -- or one of their other numerous adaptations such as the reimagined Phantom of the Opera. Guaranteed to overwhelm the senses!!

Synetic Theater is amazing. Their performances of plays are performed, not with speech, but through dance. Their evocative movements and faces convey meaning and completely immerse you in the world they have created. I just saw The Tempest which they perform on a water-covered stage, so that sprays of water dance with them, and my breath was taken away! A must see!

I wasnt sure what to expect going into the experience, but it was phenomenal! Movement without words, dancing, and facial expressions paired with music set the stage for an excellent rendition of Phantom of the Opera. Their performers excel at conveying their emotions without words. Their scene with the break down was spectacularly done.I went with a friend who was skeptical going in, and raving about it as we came out. I left skipping and full of dance energy. 11/10 would recommend.

There is NOTHING like this theater anywhere in the World! Im a homeschool mom of six and we travel from Raleigh to DC just to see their performances.! My kids are pretty versed in all things Shakespeare and theater in general. Who would have thought that Shakespeare could be be speechless? Our first visit was for Alice and Wonderland, since then we have been pretty committed to making all of the shows unless we are traveling outside of the country. These performances are ALWAYS a highlight of our education and learning. I just recently brought a visiting friend from Barcelona with us, I told him, youll leave with your jaw literally on the ground... He was thrilled!!!!!On the car ride home everyone argues over which performance has been their favorite. I dont know why we continue this debate because an hour later we are all exhausted and surrender knowing ALL are our favorites, and how can anyone attempt to choose!? Each spectacular and independently marvelous!!!!!Thank you x a million for this marvelous gem!

We saw sleepy Hallow and it was awesome. There were a couple scenes that were so artistic and creative it left me stunned. Recommend for sure.

Always a great experience. Actors and performances are top notch. Have been here maybe 10 times over the past few years and have never had a bad experience. My favorite ones were Midsummer Nights Dream, Jekyll and Hyde and one I cant remember the name of but there was a piano and lots of water! We also saw the kids performance Hansel and Gretel which was absolutely incredible. I really cannot say enough good things about this theater gem.

If you have an appreciation for the efforts it requires to be an artist, you need to see one of this groups plays. Its quite a different experience than a traditional play; theres no speach at all, but instead the small group makes the stage come alive by silently reacting to each other and the very-alive soundtrack.

Hadnt planned on making this part of our DC trip experience but saw the signs underground while going to and from the Metro and so glad we did. They were so friendly and inviting. Saw Sleepy Hollow and was amazed by the storytelling that was so well done without any words. We rave about the play as one of our highlights of the trip. It really is a must do while in DC.

What a wonderful theater I discovered a year ago! I watched King Lear and many other performances produced by the Synetic Theater Co. and was absolutely stunned by deeply expressive way and originality of their performance. Those were ones of the most impressive plays Ive ever seen in my life. From the very first show Ive tried to see all of their performances and was impressed with all of them. Id like to encourage all theater fans to pay close attention to this company. Such innovation and creativity should be appreciated more by the public who loves Theater. GO and see for yourself or you will be missing something VERY VERY TALENTED.Thank you Synetic Theater!!! And BRAVO!!!!

Washington DC has no shortage of great theater. However one of the real treats in the area is going to Synetic Theater. The theater is run by a couple from Georgia. Irina and Paata Tsikurishvili and their incredibly loyal and dedicated acting company. Many of their productions are done as silent Shakespeare but don’t let that fool you, the music, the movement, the action all arranged by Paata and Irina are fantastic.

I worked for the theater for a day helping them move supplies because water damage in or around the stage. I was never compensated or contacted for my work and the friend that I got the job from was told that they didnt have any money to pay me. I filled out tax forms and was told I would be payed the following month on the first. Never happened. DO NOT SUPPORT THESE PEOPLE. Wish i could give zero stars.

First off let me state this was my first visit. I went to see the Hunchback of Notre Dame. Excellent play, though if you are looking for dialogue dont go. They use music, lighting, and action to tell the story. There were a couple of grunts during the fight scenes but that was about it. Nice place and just a few minutes from the crystal City metro stop.

Very compelling performance of The man in the iron mask. Was a little unusual for this place as there was lots of talking but some scenes were silent. The show was the afternoon following the Orlando shooting and the co-owner delivered an emotional plea for their usual post- show donation collections (theater is run by donations) to be directed to the victims and families instead.

This theater company is the best kept secret in DC. Hidden in the tunnels of Crystal City resides easily one of the best performing arts companies in the metro area.Synetic have proven time and time again that fine art does not have to be boring or stodgy, and can be absolutely electric, alive, and often sexy. That plays without a single word spoken can make for incredible theater. Between their composer bringing cutting edge music live that ranges from classical to experimental, and the beautiful and often surreal sets and costumes, nothing disappoints. However, what really stands out is the extremely expressive mix of dance and acting from this company. This is easily one of the best companies in the US. A hidden jewel in the DC metro area.I have seen Romeo and Juliet, and Jekyl and Hyde. Both were awe inspiring.
