First time their was Friday and I was incredibly disappointed. The first thing that set the mood was the bathrooms. Ive been to pig houses in better shape. When asked if they can clean it response was priceless Its a public bathroom and we are not responsible. Well the pay was not my thing and I noticed how rundown the seats, floor and theater was. I may go back but honestly was disappointed. Oh sure I may get a response, sir we are sorry and its we arent responsible for the bathroom, I call bs a good General manager would ensure the entire experience was taken care of. A few things like cleaning the carpet, touching up the paint t, fixing the torn seats would go a long way.

Great concert with The Lakeside Singers. Music was enjoyable. Concert: The Best Time of the Year. It was classical and contemporary, combining cross-cultural arrangements from around the world. It had arrangements of folk, rock, gospel, jazz, and a few R & B. The sing along portion was heartily participated by all in attendance.Recommended highly.Gerald Hallsten

I took my two daughters (under 8 years old) to the Christmas Carol At Metropolis Performing Arts Center. It was a very good professional show. The performers were excellent. The theater and staff are great as well. My younger daughter did get scared at one ghost but that added to the fun (watch out for Marley if you have little kids- his performance was outstanding).

We saw A Christmas Carol for opening night and we were extremely pleased with the performance. The set looked gorgeous and we were very impressed with all of the lighting and effects throughout the performance. The theatre had an elegant look too it from the lobby area to the inside seating. It was also nice that there is a lot of restaurants and other shopping nearby, which makes for a nice trip to have dinner and see a performance. The cast (ranging from very young to old) did an excellent job and were very talented and spot on through the whole performance. Tiny Tim (Eva) did a fantastic job! There was lots of laughs and also some pretty intense scenes as well. The singing was very good. We had a really great time seeing the performance and would definitely recommend it!

Very nice little theater in downtown Arlington Heights. Right in the middle of all the action, finding a nice restaurant wont be a problem. Parking was close and easily accessible. The theatre was perfect for plays and musical acts, great acoustics and the people who worked there were very nice. Had a great time, impressed by the whole downtown!

A small, intimate setting with a homey, yet professional, atmosphere. You can have dinner at one of the nearby (or even attached) restaurants & get a drink in the lobby to enjoy during the show. There is also free parking at the garage behind the theater. Dont bother looking for an entrance from the garage to the theater. You need to use the sidewalk to walk around the building to get to the main theater entrance.

I actually expected way better in a town like Arlington Heights. I realize its not Broadway in Chicago, and the play was very good, but I have been to high productions that ran much better. The show started late, the bathrooms were in horrendous conditions and the crowd seemed more like a that of a beach party that cared more about their drinks and less about the show. Very unlikely to return.

I went with my daughters preschool class to see The Jungle Book. The play was ok. I agree with other reviewers that the sound is not the best (there were a couple of songs where you could not hear the words). The worst part, though, was the staff. They were rude, unfriendly, and did not want to be there. Debbie insisted we go to the far right side of the theatre, even though the section wasnt close to being full. We stayed near the center regardless, but she was full of attitude and rude!

We just saw The 39 Steps. We were lead to believe that it was a rollicking comedy. It wasnt. It was boring, so boring that it put us to sleep. The pratfalls and slapstick were too dumb to be comedic. Having good actors in such a poor production is sad. The actors deserved a better piece of work in which to perform. This play was just awful. Its over-the-top actions in an attempt to promote laughter didnt work; it was just not funny. $42 was way too much to spend for a 90 minute production which offered nothing in the way of amusement or enjoyment.

Excellent theater company in Arlington Heights. Great for a night out if you are in the area. Not up to the caliber of some of the local equity theater houses like Drury Lane or the Marriott in Lincolnshire, but it is also priced accordingly. Some of the shows are hit or miss, but the overall caliber of the entertainment seems to be improving (more well-known shows and less cheesy material). I heard they have been under new management in the last few years so that certainly makes sense. Interestingly enough the theater is owned by the city of Arlington Heights (unlike most theaters that are private and are subsidized). Hope more towns adopt this model. Go for a visit, have a margarita in the restaurant attached to the venue, and go support local theater!
