ALGC is a park district course so its publicly playable. Went on a Saturday around 330 and it cost $35 to play 18 holes with a motorized cart. Usually public courses are pretty limited on how well maintained they are but this one was immaculate in my opinion. Very open playing area so you dont lose a ton of balls. Greens were extremely fast but can easily be hit from just about anywhere. I was highly impressed

Short (course), but sweet. Greens & fairways were nicely done. 41/2 hour weekend round. Not too shabby.

Fair layout. In relatively good shape. Pace of play was great for noon on a Saturday in the summer.

Great round of golf for my little brothers birthday!

This was our 1st time golfing and the experience was ruined by Bill, the starter/ranger at tee time. He was rude, mean & unprofessional to say the least. He was literally yelling at us about what we were doing wrong. Even When we politely explained this was our 1st time golfing & being on a golf course & nobody went over rules & playing tips with us, he harshly yelled Well Im telling you now. Youre holding up people behind you. This is all common knowledge and began interrupting or rushing our shots.Additionally, I was minding my own business & driving the golf kart on the designated path & he yelled at me instructing me to drive on the grass. I told him I didnt know we were allowed to drive on grass and he said just because its your first time doesnt mean you cant cooperate. I again explained that I was happy to follow the rules but nobody told me the rules and he repeatedly yelled Im telling you now. Driving on grass is a ruleI dont know if its because Im a woman & my group had darker colored skin or if Bill is just a snobby grumpy old man, but it felt like discrimination, harassment & intimidation.Unfortunately for Bill, it was a beautiful day & we were paired with a nice group of golfers that saved the day. Will I ever recommend this golf course or come back? Never

Nice short course, Surprisingly difficult with lots of out of bounds left and water right. Six par 3s. Options to play quick 3, 6, or 9 holes beside the full 18. Food service has limited hours, but dogs and brats etc. always available. Nearby affiliated driving range at Sunset Meadows. Lots of leagues. Call or reserve time online.

My friend is planning an event for this weekend and I feel the need to leave this review before the event has even happened.The Banquet manager Phil is horrible to work with.Completely inappropriate and snarky in his email responses.The contract and brouchers do not match on what is included, not included, hidden fees and charges for items.When I read his emails responses my jaw dropped. There is no way I would ever talk to one of my clients that way FOR ANY REASON!She was told she would be contacted 2 weeks before her event to go over details. No one reached out. So emailing him she was thrown for a loop with a ton of changes, fees and you cant do this when it is never stated in the contract.The brochure states linens are optional and they will provide linen napkins.Now shes being told she HAS to do the house linens and pay a linen fee. And napkins are not provided....It really is just a mess.To think all of this happening before the day has even happened. How can anyone look forward to actually going and hosting this event and then paying a venue for such a horrible experience.Hope day off they wow us but not likely!

Used ALGC banquet room and bar service for a club function. Very nice facility and the bartender was very good. The location is convenient and the parking very adequate.

A little pricey. Twilight for resident still $31. But friendly staff...especially Lauren, the cart girl. Saw her at least, every 4 holes!!! Thanks Lauren.I wish golfers knew how to repair their ball marks!!!! Have some respect for other golfers, and the greens keepers. Course is in great shape!

Really maintained golf course. Really good value for your money too if you book your tee time online on their website! More for atleast intermediate level players with all the ponds around.

Pretty good for a shorter municipal course. Greens were firm and relatively quick. The t boxes arent level and almost needed a hammer to drive the t into the ground on some they were so hard! Challenging enough with tight fairways & water hazards EVERYWHERE. Staff is very courteous and helpful. Pace was great for a 3pm Friday t off. I got all 18 done in under 4 hrs. I booked online and got a cart with 18 holes for $26! CANT BEAT THAT ANYWHERE. I will be back.

This course was well maintained and had a very friendly staff from my personal experience. I’ll admit it gets tougher with a lot of water hazards, but I believe it’s not the most advanced course. I feel like most people are rating low because their skills are low..

Great location for a wedding! The upstairs has a nice entertainment room and bar that overlooks the course. A wrap around balcony is a great place to step away from the music and grab some air. Between the ceremony and dinner the room was flipped quickly and looked elegant.

Food was good, service ok too. Nice location.

Went for a private event in the upstairs banquet hall. There were approximately 65-80 people between the room and the bar area. They had 1 bartender on duty for all of this. Her name was Rachel and she was a Rockstar!! Beautiful views, open floor plan, fabulous service!! I will definitely use this place again!!

Ive hosted 2 baby showers here and have been pleased. The pricing is reasonable and they offer a great bar package. If youre looking to book a venue, that allows you to bring in outside food, this is a place to check out.

Decent course and relatively cheap. Tends to always be busy and pace of play is my biggest complaint at this course. Seems at times they dont group/pair people up when its busy which causes a lot of back ups. Dont get me wrong, I love playing a quick round by myself, but if the course is already packed, could do for a little organization to keeps things running more efficiently.

Gentlemen, I use that term loosely, my wife talked to today might be better suited to now the fairways than deal with the public. We left behind a sound bar from an event in April. We were informed it was there. With our twins and life as it goes, it was not immediately top of mind. My wife went there today and was informed that they did not have it anymore. When I talked to this guy, he said it must not have been that valuable since we did not pick it up sooner! Guest service? We have 3 events there in a year and a half and that is how I am talked to?

Everytime I go there it seems their prices are not what they seem. A few years back when our hospital planned an outing there for 18 holes, they told us it was hot out, and cancelled the back nine. Just for our hospital which had payed for 18. So when we wanted to join the myriad of other golfers who obviously werent bothered by the heat and play a whole round, we had to pay. They got paid twice.This time the web quoted price was 2 $ less than the price they were charging. I showed the printout and then they said that was if you arranged tee time on lineThen I showed them that doing online tee time was listed as 34$ not 30$ which they were asking, and not 28$ which was the price they quote for calling in tee time.Ive never had a problem at any other courses.Answer, I will never play there again. I work at NCH for 41 years. All our outings from now on are at Mt.Prospect, a course with integrity.

I enjoy playing golf there. I am in 2 leagues and I have a lot of fun with mostly everyone in both leagues. Staff is friendly & helpful. One concern are the tee boxes - hard to get tees in ground.

Nice course reasonable fees

The course itself was pretty great, although there are a lot of par threes so stay away if you dont like those. My three stars is for the staff, we went Saturday when rain had delayed our 9:50am tee time which is completely understandable. But even when the rain stopped, the staff would not let anyone head out to golf. This is their choice, but they did not explain to anyone and did a horrible job of communicating when people would go out and why there was such a delay when the rain had stopped for 2 hours. They did not seem to care about the customer, but they did care about the course, maybe they can do better.

Had our xmas party upstairs in the banquet room. Was smaller but the right size for us. It was very nice

They allow players to take a long break between 9s thereby letting them cut in front of other players on 10. This is not Japan where it is custom to take long break between 9s. Very aggravating to players coming off of number 9.
