We had a great time here. The trails are in good shape and easy to see! Beautiful scenery, and great sand bar right on the river! Will definitely be back!

Have been going to Chaplin Nature Center for over 25 years. Wonderful hiking trails, and as well a sand beach and river frontage. I have seen turkeys, squirrels, deer, eagles, hawks, egrets and many others on my hikes. Great place for the family to spend time together and get in nature.

Such a great place to explore! Hundreds of acres of woodland, prairie and sandbars. You can be there half the day and never see another soul.

Love this place not really big but it is very nice and a very good walk, the only down fall is a home owner in the area has a fan boat very loud and a bit disruptive for a nature walk. Given the fact I live in a large city not a reason for us not to go back we have been twice and will definitely take the 1hr drive to go again.

Who knew there was a beach in Kansas! This fairly secluded nature center offers a great setting to enjoy a few different ecosystems in as natural a condition as possible. The work done to reclaim what was once a working farm is amazing, if you didnt know it was one you would never believe it. There are about 6.5 miles of trails in the center and if you plan right you can walk all of them with very little overlap. A great deal of wildlife can be seen as well if you look hard enough. Not really a place for young children to roam freely but should be enjoyable nonetheless.

Great place to hike. Lots of try cover. They have done a very good job with this place. Trails are well maintained. Multiple benches to stop if needed. This has become my new top place to hike. Equal to Top Mound Trail at Elk City Lake if not better.

This is a beautiful place to visit. If youre on a road trip and need a place to stop and get out of the car for a few this is a nice place to do that. Its a little bit of drive off the highway but definitely worth it. Its a nice place to relax and take a little walk and take in all the awesome nature.

Better use gps because it’s not easily found. 3 miles of gravel/dirt kansas road to get there. Trails not clearly marked or easy to get to the river. Disappointing out of the way stop.

If you like the out doors, nature, walking, and dont mind the bugs, then check it out. Great walking, quiet, and my kids loved the sand bar. They have I think about 6 trails. Ranging from 1 mile long to about 7 for the longest

The trek to arrive at the center can be a little rough on your car as it involves a couple miles of dirt roads. I would estimate 10 minutes out of the 70 it takes to get there from Wichita. The trails are quite short and easy, making this perfect for a family hike (and too wimpy for any hiking enthusiasts out there).
