My son has disabilities and my daughter does not. Both vote this place as their favorite for camp! The coaches are supportive and engaging and really know each child’s abilities and passions. Fantastic place and staff!

I go here for camp I just want to say why would you make such a big place then put 2 soccer field honestly one of them couldve been a football field or a basketball court. XL think of other sports than just soccer and hockey.Oh if you go there they have the best nachos and cheese and hot dogs.

We came for family skate night which advertised skating/games and family friendly music. It had no games nor music. Then the 2 employees sat back on phones not even paying attention. If it was run properly could be a decent place to have families to come on a Saturday night but not at this rate. Was not worth going at all.

Let me start by saying, Ive had no issues here with regards to extracurricular activities such as kids soccer leagues, etc. There are many coaches/counselors here that my kids love. This review is strictly in reference to track-out camps. My child had an immediately noticeable swollen eye at pickup and no employees or staff members available at pickup had any information about what happened to him. Apparently another child hit him in the face multiple times with a dodgeball intentionally. My child reported it to a counselor and nothing was done. No incident report, no measures taken, no parent contact. I understand children get upset and fight, but what is not acceptable is that nothing is done when such behavior is brought to the attention of employees. You wont be notified as a parent and there wont be a record of the incident to explain why your child came home with an injury. I find it unacceptable and concerning that a child walked around with a swollen eye for half the day and there is no evidence that anyone at XL noticed, asked him what happened, documented or notified a parent.I emailed and called asking for a phone call to discuss what happened, procedures in the event this were to happen again, etc., and did not receive a return phone call or email. I called the next morning after sending an email and leaving a voicemail the previous day and was able to get a refund, but again, no mention of the incident or acknowledgement of my earlier communications.Ive lost my confidence in this facility to provide track-out care to younger children. (< 8 years old) Children arent properly supervised and Im not confident that they have procedures to address injuries to children, or react to a child reporting that he has been hit by another child. Furthermore, younger kids are frequently playing contact games such as dodgeball with children much older than them, which results in bullying, singling out, etc. (reported by my kid and other kids)

Showed up at 7:15pm Stayed until 7:45 pm for pick-up hockey, turns out the they decided to close down early. The website says pick up hockey is from 7:30-9:00 This is one of many scheduling issues I’ve come across. It would be considerate to post an early closing rather than ignoring phone calls and causing myself and others to drive 45 minutes. Also I have emailed them and they never get back to me.

Great facility and friendly coaches who especially work well with the younger kids. The large indoor fields are perfect for Indoor sports during the cooler months. Theyve also recently upgraded the snack bar so youve got options if youre going to be there for a while. Would definitely recommend for soccer.

Showed up at 7pm for pick-up hockey, turns out the manager decided to close down early. Had been told by two employees that they were open. The schedule showed an event occurring at 8PM on the soccer fields so we figured it was good to go. This is one of many scheduling issues I’ve come across under this new management. It would be considerate to post an early closing rather than ignoring phone calls and causing myself and others to drive 45 minutes! (There are some really great employees just wish management would communicate better)

Dreamsports Center in Apex is great for birthday parties! The perfect venue for an energetic group of boys. My 7 year old son had a great time with his friends. He was able to customize the party by choosing his favorite games/sports. Dreamsports took care of everything! The party leaders were friendly and energetic with the kids. They also took care of set-up, serving food and clean-up. The party space was spacious and clean. A cupcake cake from Harris Teeter (with custom team logo), Annas Pizza, popcorn snack and drinks were included in the party package. Thank you Dreamsports!

When we first started the staff was amazing and a lot of the younger ones are. but there is a certain couple of people specifically in the hockey area that are real jerks and have absolutely zero interest in the parents opinions. when your child is made to play a certain position time and time again b/c hes not a top goal scorer that is unacceptable. so if your child scores six goals a game you will love this place b/c your price is essentially subsidized compared to the other children. When Bob owned this place it was a much better ran facility (other than his co-owner). And they wonder why hockey is being removed from this place. it used to be 2/3 hockey now its 1/3 hockey and about to be 100% soccer.

We didnt have a good experience here with a week of trackout camp and I wouldnt recommend it. There seemed to be confusion about which group (full/half day) my kindergartner was enrolled in; the coaches didnt really know where he should go, and he didnt play half the sports listed on the camp website. There was no formal instruction in sports - it seemed that it was mostly free play and a large percentage of the day was playing non-sport games like tag. He also came home bandaged a couple of days because he was playing games such as dodgeball with kids much older and bigger than him, so they singled him out and called him names. I understand that kids sometimes have to work these things out, but from what he told me there was no attempt by staff to ensure good sportsmanship or fairness in the games, and my son came home discouraged in the afternoons. I attempted to contact XLSW about my concerns but my email and call were never returned.

Ive been a customer in terms of hockey for over 10 years since the facility opened and never had an issue in regards to how they ran their leagues or hockey programs while they were Dreamsports. Since becoming XL sports world their once down to earth staff now literally shrug off consistent complaints without any verbalization of a plan for potential assessment and/or intervention. I dont feel as though my business is valued and will take my time and money elsewhere when the opportunity presents itself. With that said the day staff continues to be friendly and accommodating from my limited experience with drop in play.
