Island theme bar in the middle of Grass Lake in Antioch Il. Live music. Room for 200+ boats, (not small). You can get there only by boat or via ferry from Port O Blarney Bar in Antioch. Thursday night boat races start at 6:00 and the place is usually packed. Saw a band called GOOROOS there and they rocked the house! Great time.
All I can say is blarney island is definitely an experience haha. The drinks and food are a bit over priced. Nachos aren’t very good at all and all really small portions. We went on a night that the staff was all dressed in lingerie. Lots of open space to spread out.
Love the boat races every Thursday night. The atmosphere on the island reminds me of being in Florida at a bar with good live entertainment
If I could I would give this a zero! We waited in line for 2 hours to get to the island just to be told that they are now moving pricing up to 20$ a person to get out to the island! So we left got on our own boat went out there and waited in line for another just a joke! Don’t have big event if you know you can’t have to people! Especially do you COVID.
On an island live music, boat docks glistening summer sun on the water, cold drinks (personal favorite is the Kenny Chesney Blue Chair Bay Island Girl), nothing but fun, a special place.
Place was hopping the lights look really awesome coming up on the boat if you have your own boat its reasonable to get in if theres a charge . drinks are a little pricey but due to the coronavirus I understand. highly recommended to go good time great energy good people Good vibes no problem at all.
While waiting on the ferry to take us to Blarney Island, we sat in the bar,had a couple of alcoholic drinks with a 16 in pizza. All the staff were friendly and answered questions we had about the island. Blarney Island as they say one mile away from reality situated on the lake. There are plenty of boat slips,also places to rent boats. The ferry runs every 15 minutes or every half hour to an hour depending on the crowd. There is food served so children are allowed on the island until 7 p.m. after that time no one under 21 is admitted. There is security on the premises, alcohol is served, usually a live band and DJ for the music. They open at 10:30 a.m. and the last Ferry is off the island by 2 a.m.

Fun live band is cool drinks are great n pretty fast service not a place to full out have a dinner at but have right foods to keep u from getting to drunk lol great times also has helicopter rides pretty affordable.
Well, its known as The Key West of the Midwest and it truly is a mile away from reality Voted the greatest boating bar in the world and its easy to see why. We have been here many times and always have a great time. The atmosphere is fun and never any issues! We normally come by boat due to Blarney being an actual island but you can take the boat shuttles too. Check out the drag boat races on Thursday nite nicknamed Thunder in the Chain and yes, you can certainly feel the Thunder!! The weekends are filled with great bands and great music. Blarney Island is a special place like no other - you need to check it out!!
My family has lived on the chain o’ lakes for over 10 years and Blarney Island never gets old. The live music and dancing is my favorite thing to do during the summer on the chain. Anytime my friends come from out of town I HAVE to bring them to this unique and fun place. Always a great time at Blarney Island!
Haven’t been to the Island yet, definitely going soon as they open. I’m giving the owner 5 stars for his amazing and thoughtful responses to poor reviews. The music complaint for a bar a mile out on the water from campers is hilarious.
Fun place at a one of a kind venue but then only thing keeping this from 5 star was their strict policy on backpacks. None are allowed, which i found bizarre considering the length of time and needs ppl have when spending a day on the island. Other than that, the views, entertainment and experience was great.

Such a fun place! Everyone is super nice and the atmosphere is awesome. Great place for concerts or just to hang out and drink with your friends. I havent been there for the boat races yet, but I heard theyre a lot of fun. I will absolutely be back!
Awesome venue! Were ready to quit our jobs and move to the island! Beautiful views, get there by boat or helicopter. A one of a kind experience. Great staff. If you get the chance to go, dont skip it.
Really cool place! Gonna leave 4 stars bc I didnt try the food. Maybe next time? For this to be a floating bar/restaurant/music venue out in the middle of a lake - Im sold! Great atmosphere and very nostalgic as well. Check it out!!!

Saw a band called Pet rock a couple Saturdays back. the band was awesome!!..! but it cost my wife and I for two cheese burgers and one soda almost $31 bucks!! WHAT! .. Great place but my advise, eat and drink before you go there.UPDATE :::To the owner response. I just double checked with my wife, she says we had french fries with our meals. nothing more, We tipped accordingly.. Sorry but still a lot of money for what we got. But great place to party and we will come back

Always a great time. Sundays is family friendly as long as blarney gras isnt going on. Easy going staff awesome bartenders. Love coming up for the live bands and dancing.

Priciest bar on the lake, but we go for the atmosphere. Wish they had more DJs, they usually have more bands. Though the bands they do have are usually pretty good. They definitely need more seating.

I cant believe how loud these guys play their music. We stayed at Chain OLakes State Park and the music was loud enough that we couldve sang along. These guys should be a little more considerate. Ive never had another situation where someone was playing such loud music at 2 am. Is there no option on their speakers to play music at a lower volume?Edited- I have a call record that shows I called at midnight and they called me back at midnight and I still heard music. This is easily verifiable, go to Chain O Lakes and youll clearly hear the music. The camp office told me that you guys are always loud and that it is you guys making the noise with no consideration to your surroundings. Your fun shouldnt affect other people. Your rude attitude in your response to every negative review on this site shows me where this inconsiderate behavior is coming from.

Definitely one of the best places to go between Lake and Cook County that is on the water. Theres a bar at the pier then theres a ferry ride from the pier to the actual Island and there is two big bars on the island that the service is pretty decent at they do as best as they can with them out of people that they see. Theres also boat parking which is really nice if you have a boat on the chain or if youre there just for the day. They also have many live bands on Friday and Saturday nights usually a great time I would highly recommend it to somebody that is not from the area or that has never been here. Usually to have a good time you can easily expect to drop anywhere between 80 to 140 for two. Enjoy!!
This seemed pretty cool, until they kicked the performing artist offstage without letting her do one more song, in order to bring in a DJ and put dancing girls in cages (who they also tried to put on during Meg Myers set, which was super weird and awkward). Not a good finish and felt pretty icky.
Fun bar on an island with beautiful views of Grass Lake & the Fox River. Shuttle is $10 or dock your boat on the island. Why would you drink anywhere else?
I always have fun here. Love the island. DONT like the prices though. They do overcharge for drinks but its probably because they have to bring it all over from the port. Not sure though.For special nights its always worth the trip and money though.If you have mentioned gone then you need to go at let once if not more.EDIT:I STILL DONT LIKE YOUR PRICES. Blarni Gras, apparently a big yearly event. Got lucky and managed the last ferry and bus for the night. But only after waiting two hours in line! Crowding was an issue after we got on the island, even with them relieving the pressure with return trips while we were waiting. DJ was good, they had a Fire Dancer on the roof, and exotic dancers in hoops spinning around. Drink specials were pretty much the same as always aside from $3 shots. Was my third time here, an okay experience, but the wait was a bit much. Kudos to security and staff, though, everybody was super nice, and patient with the rowdiest of crowds.
I was hoping to make the trip out with a few friends to see this place but after reading how the owner responds to poor reviews, in a disrespectful and childish manner, I’ll be making a post on social media and other pages to let people know not to support this establishment. Completely unprofessional and trashy.

I had a $5 charge for one drink and somebody put a 4in to 7in front of my bill charging me $475. I could never talk to the owner and no one would even own up to the fact that I was charged $475. Receipts were provided and they were also allowed to talk to my bank manager. The fact that Ive Been told the owner is out of state and then I was apparently in contact with a line chef. Are you kidding me how am I not being called as soon as possible $475 was taken out of my account and verified by my bank. Apparently this local business does not care they are taking hundreds of dollars illegally.

When I came out here with my friends last week, I was expecting to relax and sit back on the beach. What actually happened was way better!! We happened to come on lingerie night and wow was it amazing. There was body painting galore. It was a much younger crowd than I thought it would be but that is a great thing!

While parking a cabin cruiser a TIRE got wrapped around the lower drive! Might have happened because the water level was so low. VITO, one of the Blarney Island employees, came out to help after my friend went in to tell them about the situation. It took him 2 hours to get the tire off using a seesaw, a hand saw and a wire clippers. It was hot and he worked diligently to remove the tire to free the prop. Afterwards the boat started and we parked somewhere else and went on the island to have some fun. Thanks VITO for an unfortunate situation handled well.
Had an awesome day. Good band, plenty of seating. Good atmosphere. It rained momentarily and there was plenty of room to get out of the elements. Lots of piers for boats.
