Rick has been breeding amazing angelfish and discus for decades. His advice is always the best and he really cares about the well being of the fish and that his customers get the knowledge they need to keep the fish healthy. He is willing to place special orders and has a great selection of frozen fish food. Love this store.

Rascist! Me and my family of color walked in and after being in there for two minutes he kicked all out. His fish are over priced, and we didn’t even see everything. Guess we’re going to petsmart.

Figured Id go here instead of a retail chain but the guy had a bad attitude. Door was cracked open sign saying no-one allowed inside due to the virus which is understandable, I asked him if there was a selection online to choose from he said check the Facebook page as I was pulling it up he tried to belittle me for not knowing the type fish I have (I described them to him) then said even if Id let you in you dont know what fish you want. Yeah great customer service

Richard was super friendly and knowledgeable when we came in. He gave us a tour of the shop and then left us to explore and admire the different species he had stocked. When it came to choosing our fish, he let us pick the exact ones we wanted, even in the busy guppy tank. I will definitely be returning here when we begin work on our next aquarium.

I like shopping at local family businesses, and this is a hidden gem. The owner was friendly and courteous and knowledgeable about other critters besides the beautiful fish that they sell. My chihuahua liked the man and he doesnt like anyone so he earned 5 stars.

One of the BEST fish stores you will ever find!! The owner is so kind and very funny, full of jokes and you instantly feel right at home! I have bought many Glofish from him and they are quite healthy! I’ve only had a few get sick and die but that is to be expected with fish. I highly recommend you buy your fish from him if you want them to be healthy and hardy!! If you want to get the best fish, buy from him instead of petsmart, all the fish I got from PetSmart were sick and died within a few days. If you have any questions about the fish, he will definitely know!! I have had many questions about fish care, how many fish I can have, and much more. He’s answered them all without hesitation! Great store and very knowledgable owner. Bought some discus from here about a year ago, recently had a tank disaster and had to move the fish to a new tank which greatly stressed them out. Called the store to ask for advice, following this advice, all my fish pulled through.

Well, Got a lemon, then got it used to my tank, Schools well with my Two Turquoise Blues, And my Tiny Orange peel. after that, got a diamond blue in SF. Lemon schools Well. Lemon Yellow Sometimes chases one of the turquoise. Also got tiny orange peel and a Turquoise blue in SF too.

I purchased 2 beautiful large Glolite fish and 6 cardinal tetras. The owner told me he doesnt waste a lot of time monitoring the water parameters, but ages his water instead. I was skeptical, since cardinal tetras are VERY sensitive. Guess what? All of these fish are thriving in my 55 gallon tank. Sometimes less really is more.

Outside it might not look like much, however inside is a warm smile from the shop owner Rick and a wide variety of not only freshwater fish but salt water aswell. Prices are reasonable and he usually something interesting and new to show you. I go here for live black worms and all my other aquarium needs instead of other big chain stores which has taken my tank to a whole new level. If your in the area and have time to stop by i definately recommend stopping by and taking a look around.

I purchased my buttakoferi tilapia from him and he is doing quite well.I plan to stop by this afternoon and pick up a Black ghost fish and an Arowana as soon as I get off of work.I will not purchase fish anywhere else aside from Ricks store.He is knowledgeable, friendly and if you come at the right time and have the chance to meet his daughter and her husband, you will really appreciate them too.His daughter has a huge discus tank.Really good people.

The old guy really knows how to breed and raise discus fish. I love discus and this guy showed me his mated pairs, the fry, the babies, and then the juveniles. Im just starting my tank over and needed some material to seed my filter and he was really cool. He even gave me a clump of co-bomba. Really nice guy and a good fish shaman. Wiseman know fish. I will go again just to see his discus. He has some nice Roselines that I want to get on payday. Nice specimens. THis guy is right off G Street between 2nd and 3rd in a little shop. I bought a handful of gold mollies to speed up my water cycle. Really nice guy with clean water and healthy tanks.

Rick is very knowledgable, he is older so his care on the tanks arnt always spick and span but his true hobby is in the discus he breeds and sells. you will always find him doing water changes on those guys. If you are looking for fish food or supplies this is the place to go. also if you know what fish you want you can have him order it for you, he orders Tuesdays and shipment comes Wednesday. thats why I like coming to him. I hope he stays in business for a very long time

I found Fintastik on the web, and decided to drive to Antioch to check out this store on my day off. I dont know what compels people to leave bad reviews, but more often than not I find that these reviews are not all that reliable. Fintastik is not a large store, but they had a good selection of sponge filters, which is what I came for. Prices were what I expected, very comparable to my local stores. The store also had a good selection of live foods, tubifex worms as well as the California Black worm, but I didnt buy any as the day was very hot and I had a long drive in front of me. I spoke to the owner, Rick, for quite a while, and he was a very nice gentleman who obviously have a lot of experience with fishkeeping. If youre into Angel Fish, this store is definitely worth a visit. Rick breed these fish, and knows quite a bit about them. In fact, once I return from my vacation, Im going back to buy some Angel Fish from him. Before I left, I mentioned to Rick that I have some picky eaters, my Celestial Pearl Danios and a female Betta who wont take flake food. Rich suggested that I tried some freeze dried California Worms...this is a specialty item that I havent seen sold in any other stores, Rick labels them himself. Because its a freeze dried, the nutrition is very high...and my fish love it. Overall, if you dont live to far away, I highly recommend paying this store a visit; its also in a nice setting right next to the delta.
