We did the lighthouse tour on lady Sarah and Bryan and Maria we’re both so nice and helpful and welcoming we just loved them! We loved this cruise and they made it so much fun! Bryan was there to take pictures for us and answer any questions we had about the ship and the area, he was SO KNOWLEDGEABLE! Maria made some incredible and delicious drinks and was just such a people person and knew the ships so well, she told us the best place to sit, we will definitely be back and we hope they are on our next cruise! Thank you Brian and Maria!

My sister and I went on a walking tour with Jamie Foster (Mistress Marian) as our guide. I have lived in the Annapolis area since I was a toddler, and am very familiar with downtown Annapolis. It was nice to be a tourist for a change. We walked down some streets I dont normally go down on my visits so it was nice to see buildings and places I wasnt very familiar with, or havent payed much attention too, and understand their history better. My 16 year old sister also learned a lot, and was able to fill out several pages of notes in a notebook she carried with her (she is currently writing a comic that is a locally based historical fiction, and has been taking great interest in learning about as much local history and folklore as she can). Our guide was very knowledgeable about the local history, and how different things tied together. She was also kept the child who was on the tour very engaged, interacting with him and having him help her show and introduce things. The groups are not very large so you never feel lost in a crowd. I dont recall any steep hills, just one thing of steps to the state building. Frequent stops, and benches to sit if needed. Many of the stops are under trees too, which is nice for shade (or in our case a very light drizzle that came and went a few times). You leave from the visitor center and end at the dock, ego alley, which is the heart of the town (it also has public bathrooms, a info booth, and other amenities if needed) so that you can finish off enjoying the best of downtown Annapolis, a place you now have a better understanding and appreciation for.

My niece, Harper, and I were planning a girls’ weekend. I’ve been on many “Rockin’ River Cruises” on the Harbor Queen, so I was familiar with the Watermark Tours offerings. The Haunted History Tour seemed perfect for us.When we started our journey through history, ‘Mistress Alison’ told some tales that gave us the chills…once we got away from the noise and activity on City Dock (it was the day of croquet and a boat show) the sun was starting to set and things really got interesting. We stood across the street from The Brice House and listened as Mistress Alison shared some history that Harper recently learned on a Girl Scouts tour with Watermark. She remembered every bit of history she learned that day and she shared some of the tales with us. When we crossed the street to stand beside the Brice House we noticed we were standing in a curiously cold spot (about 20° cooler than it had been across the street). I walked the length of the house to see if there was something going on perhaps air-conditioning from an open window, construction related, etc… nope, the cold and the activity centered right around the two windows closest to Prince George St.We listened intently to the rest of the stories that our guide shared with us but Harper and I both knew something else was happening around us. It was not a scary feeling, it was simply they wanted us to know they were there too.She and I walked around the back of the house to see as much as we could before we moved on. The activity was all in the front of the house, in that space, between the windows. When we got to the second Brice house on the tour, we were again greeted by a friendly spirit. This time a very playful spirit, perhaps more than one. As Mistress Alison shared the history of the property, a strong wind about waist level came from the house and blew passed Harper and I... we both felt the force of it as it gently turned us toward the street. Still not sure if Harper raised her arms on her own to direct the spirit, or if the spirit gave her a friendly nudge as it journied on it’s way.Harper and I looked at each other and smiled… we were very surprised for it to happen again, and this time there was a little more dramatic flair from the spirit. It was fun to walk downtown and have people think that we were tourists, we got a chuckle out of that. Whether you believe in the ‘haunted’ part or not, the ‘history’ alone makes for a fantastic evening. Bring your family and friends when they are in town, or simply enjoy a stroll through Downtown Annapolis with your friends. It was a fun, fascinating, and delightful way to spend an evening in Annapolis. #TouristForANight
