A very nice, large nature area. It seems like its all woods and its also quite hilly. The path has lots of roots and stones so be careful not to trip!

Trails are crazy confusing if your dont know them but theyre beautiful. I found the trails to be challenging but not overly so. I would definitely go back is I had more of the day to explore. Its a really beautiful area. I took lots of photos of the woods as I walked and there were so many great little spots. I went here after therapy and it was the perfect place to recenter myself after a tough session. If I hadnt gotten quite lost, I wouldve given 5 stars.

I enjoyed the day here. It has some nice hills and many criss-crossing trails so you can really get a nice workout if you want it. The only downside was the traffic noise at the beginning. Its pretty loud, but once you get to the inner parts of the park its quite nice. Ill go again. I gave it 4 stars only because of the traffic noise.

Nice set of groomed trails through the nature area. Easy to follow paths and nice view of the huron river along the way. Beautiful view in the fall time.

Peaceful challenging run under a beautiful canopy. Why challenging you ask? Hills, roots, rocks a true nature trail. Orientation to the highway and Huron River Drive make the trails easy to navigate as well as signs that mark the trails. Wonderful surprises at every turn from cool man made huts, sitting benchs, Indian pipes, wild flowers and deer. Why stop at Bird Hills? Add another three and run the loop at Argo!

Beautiful hiking place. It feels like a maze of trails. We planned to follow a certain trail, but ended up with an additional mile due to the extensive number of trails crossing each other.Having said that, the trails are great! No bikes! We walked to the Argo Livery and back, about 7 miles total. The park is unmarked - no sign - so following the Google maps is important. And parking is tight.I will definitely go back.

I liked it here a lot, once you are far enough in you can barely hear traffic from the freeway and it feels very secluded. It is more of a moderate hike in my opinion definitely not super easy lots of ups and downs. I wish that there were some trails maps along the trails because I got lost and had to use my gps and ended up about a mile away from where I needed to be. All in all very nice place

A great moderate trail right in the heart of the city and yet so quiet, serene and tranquil. I have seen multiple deer, rabbits, and rare birds while walking these trails, interlacing the Huron river , there are plenty of spots for a decent trek.one of the best kept secrets of Ann Arbor.

My wife and I and two daughters took a long walk here on Saturday. The West-most path was a little muddy. It goes by that little creek. We could not stay late enough to hear the birds chirping. My daughters enjoyed climbing on the one large tree. The walking paths are nice, spring leaves over dirt and playful rocks here and there. This is Bird Hills, and so the walking paths go up and down hills. We saw a few people during our walk, but not many. Please like my review.

Be sure to have a map or cell phone with GPS handy. There are a few unmarked trails that will disorient a free spirit if they arent paying close attention to their surroundings. Also, the southern end of the nature area abuts a very busy road; the traffic noise can be intrusive.

One of the best trails Ive been on. Will get a good workout with a lot of elevation transitions. Lack good checkpoint markings so better keep an eye on the marking polls that shows which road/drive you are headed towards.

It was really nice here. The trails are pretty straight forward and you really cant get lost. Sadly you hear a lot of the surrounding roads. Its not hard hike at all and feels more like a nice stroll. Would go there again if I was in the area.

Great urban park for hiking! The city of Ann Arbor does an excellent job with all their parks, but this one is the best for hiking. Lots of hills make it a great workout.

We walked here just a bit while visiting AA. Im so pleased that the park exists, and we saw people using it, and theres an awesome tall Teepee in one spot. My only great sigh is about the noise from the near highway, which is just overwhelming. If this area invested in a sound barrier, it would be perfect.

Gorgeous hilly forest with plenty of trails right in Ann Arbor. Parking and trail heads at multiple entrances. Lots of hikers with dogs. Kids younger than school age may have a difficult time with some parts of the trails and/or may not be able to hike a full loop (depending on your route).

We have been here before for Xmas day lunch and did not disappoint, we had a lovely table spacious, horderves on the table when we arrived, we ordered drinks, a bottle of water on the table a nice touch, then our starters we brought to us, very tasty the French onion soup superb. We went up to get our main a delicious carvery, my son a vegetarian was served a really nice goats cheese tart. Then our pudding was served at our table very tasty Xmas pudding, then homemade mince pies, coffee and cream and then chocolates. It was brilliant and very reasonably priced, we have eaten out Xmas dinner for the last twenty years and this is definitely our number 1.

A great spot to hike, especially if you have a dog. The trails are pretty open, and the area never gets too busy. Theres a parking lot, so you dont have to park on the street or anything. I also really like the hilly landscape -- you can get some good views, and its good exercise.

This is a beautiful land preserve in Washtenaw county. The trails are well maintained and clear through all seasons. We have walked here all year round. There are hills, but also options for routes that are less hilly if you choose. It makes a nice circut for a trail run or a family hike. Dogs are also welcome.

Nice nature area with lots of well traveled trails on a hilly environment. Ironically I didnt see very many birds but there is definitely no shortage of squirrels or chipmunks to say the least. Too many people come here for my liking but Im the type that likes places where you dont see anyone. Parking outside the gate where we entered was limited but there are plenty of other spots to park if full. All in all the entire area is beautiful and should be visited if you enjoy hiking as I do. Enjoy!!
