Over all good place for kiddos, burn out after 3-4 hours tops, a little pricey (50$ for 4 people) but you are able to leave (get lunch) and come back in the same day which did help. Love all the learning and how much learning is going on even with out them knowing. It would be nice if there were more people around to help guide/answer questions or even present some of the exhibits.

Lots of diverse learning activities for kids in preschool through about 5th grade. Although, I took my 18 month old and he had a blast. This would be a great place for a field trip. And right now they have a discounted admission price for Bridge Card holders through Sept. 30, 2019.

Mostly great museum!! Just wish the four and under room accommodate me older kids. Makes it a juggle to bring your kids when there is a large age gap because the older sibling is supposed to stay with the younger sibling - and that is expected for age five and up. What five year old wants to, and is even capable of, staying with a toddler for the entire time. There is a lunch room where you can eat the food you brought. Convenient!

Amazing place! Tons of age appropriate (check out the preschool room and the infant section) activities and things to explore. The water room is very interesting but my 9 month old liked the infant section the best. She spent over an hour pushing over towers of big foam blocks her dad built. We all had a great time. So much so we bought the membership!

Everything I imagined it would be! I went with my Mom nearly two decades ago and always dreamed of taking my own child one day. My daughter(7) and I(34) had so much fun with all the different experiments & stations integrating play & science so perfectly! The staff was friendly and helpful, the building was clean and modern, really just an all-around fun educational place to take your child 12 and under. Older if they enjoy science! There are 3 or 4 floors of activities, a gift shop(low cost small souvenirs!), water play (extra clothes are a good idea or make it the last thing before leaving!), a coat room, and restaurants in walking distance. Will definitely be coming back again as my daughter really loves it!

Best place to take your children, their are so many activities to do and lessons to learn! I used to go when I was a child, and its still there for me to take my kids. I absolutely adore The Hands-on Museum and so do my children! Only critique would be the cafeteria, theres no food area unless you throw a party and bring your own food. They could do alot better with the cafeteria!

We brought our two-year-old here for some parallel play. She loved every second of it! The preschool area was perfect for her. She loved the water area and the ball machine best. If we lived closer, we would definitely get the membership and come more often. We didnt venture into the areas for older children, but the small bit I saw makes me excited for when my daughter is old enough to understand better. I definitely recommend taking your young ones here for a few hours or an entire day of fun.

Fun place to take kids from toddler to elementary. Great learning resource for adults too, so grab a niece or nephew if you must. Parking is a bit tough in the afternoon, but thats fairly typical on Ann Arbor. At $12 a its a bit pricey, but youll spend 2-3 hours here, and its got enough to see that youll not mind coming annually.

So much fun with the kids!!! High energy, so dont be a lazy butt and come expecting an easy day in a seat. This place is all about playing with your hands, senses, and imagination. So rewarding to see kids not only have fun but learn as they go. Recently expanded. Parking is a bit tough, but thats Ann Arbor. Worth the price! Plus a cool little gift shop at the entrance with lots of really cool stuff.

Perfect for kids of all ages, teens, and even is grown ups! When you enter the first thing you come across when you enter is the musical stairs then its off to have some fun! You will come across the water room first. There is a water room and so many things to do in there. There are balls (ball pit balls) that you use and can see how they interact with the water. The rest of the first floor has a lot of cool things on it. You heard more toward school-age kids who can read and up. The second floor is for kids who are 4 or younger. Lots of stuff to do in there and even a space dedicated to little babies and crawlers only. We didnt even make it to the third floor. but I did hear that theres a thing that makes a really big bubbles or you stand in and it closes you in a bubble.

This hands-on museum is awesome! We received a yearly membership as a Christmas gift for our son and we had a blast our first go-round, and we are looking forward to to coming back in the coming weeks! They have all sorts of activities and learning platforms from hygiene to plumbing, and electrical to water physics. Its quite educational for adults as well. I highly recommend being one of the first in line as they open, especially on the weekends; this place fills quickly! The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Its in close proximity to the eateries in kerrytown, so once youre done you can grab a nice bite to eat in AA. You will work up an appetite! Id recommend this place to all ages! Looking forward to our next experience.

This place is one of the many gems of Ann Arbor with one acception: its a place JUST for our young adventurers! It has many rooms that meet the likes and tastes of ALL children! Personally, my daughter is a 4 year old who loves everything water and she LOVED the water tables in the downstairs atrium, and in the upstairs playroom. Theres lots of building supplies for little hands, in every section. In every room they have plenty of items to stir up your childrens imagination! My daughter also very much enjoys music and they have music on the stairs, and a whole music area upstairs. All of these activities have an excellently disguised theme of SCIENCE! They make science super fun for our young children.

Watching children learn why things do what we all take for granted was amazing! My twin nephews (who had just turned 2), were amazed at every thing they saw and also touched everything they saw. The adults attending to their children were learning about their children learning about all the different things on display at the museum. I have been telling all my friends with children about this wonderful place where children (and parents), learn about everyday things and...themselves.

Was just okay. We spent most of our time in the preschool exhibit. Everything just felt really “well loved” (old), broken and warn. The ambulance is in desperate need of a new steering wheel/dash (it’s being held together with duct tape). The toothbrush had only a few, at most, bristles left. The water exhibit was good, wish the H2O zone had a stool or two for shorter kiddos to access the steering wheels, levers and triggers. No art making exhibit, anywhere, bummer. All-in-all, I think we will choose a different activity next time we are in town. COSI in Ohio and Pittsburgh’s Children’s museum are both significantly more entertaining and well maintained. As an educator, I’m a big fan of taking children to museums, I guess I just expect a little more attention to maintaining the exhibits.I added a star (from 2 to 3) after the positive feedback and initiative from the museum. Will try again this summer.

We have been members here for 3 years, and it never fails to keep us coming back. There a four floors, and each have a different theme. There is an area for smaller kids, and unlike most little kid areas, it is huge. There are a ton of things to do, including a smaller water play area, wooden play equipment to climb on, a ball propulsion climbing toy, a small slide, blocks, and many other things. Some of our favorites are the laser harp, the green board, an art installation that allows you to see your reflection in various colorful ways, and the platform you stand on where you pull a bubble over your entire body. The only set back to this place is that you need to bring your own snacks, but there is a little place you can sit down and eat. The bathrooms are usually pretty clean, and it is nursing friendly. They have a private nursing area, it is really nice, but you can nurse anywhere. They have an awesome gift shop, and a membership, will give you a worthy discount.

Our second year getting the year pass and we love it here! Kids are 4.5 and 2.5 and always beg to go. There’s a designated preschool area for under 5 yo and we could spend all day just in there. There’s tons of different kinds of block, puzzles, fireman uniforms, magna tiles, ball factory belt area, water play area, and even a gated off infant area. There’s a larger water play area, a simulated tornado, an ambulance, and tons of new rotating science and learning exhibits. Something to do for children of all ages! Bonus: it’s very close to Zingerman’s! (Expensive, but very tasty, sandwich shop.)

They have dedicated places with a lot of tables to eat snack and/or lunch, vending machines too. Great place for kids and grown up( kids at heart)s. Children will play and learn at the same time. If you are in and around Ann Arbor, go for an annual family pass that only costs $75. Walked into the doors as they opened 3rd family in line waiting. Had an amazing time 1 year old and 7 year old had a alot of fun. Nothing was broken like prior reviews. Other funny reviews about food and people being nasty and always on their cellphone. They dont serve food or have a cafeteria. Everything was really cleaned and workers where putting things away and making sure it was a good fun time. Only overly busy room was the toddler room but that is understandable. My only advise would be more workers making sure kids are taking turns. Parents do let kids run wild and take from others so maybe more workers to enforce the rules because parents didnt do a good job. our one year old got pushed out of the way a couple times by kids wanting to use what she was playing with. But that isnt a knock on the museum just parents not teaching their kids manners. we will be back. and drove over an hour

I love this place especially on a rainy day. We’ve had a couple memberships over the years and always enjoy bringing friends. The only reason I’m not giving five stars is some days when it’s really crowded, it’s hard to enjoy due to other children not being monitored properly by their parents BUT I have seen staff intervene when safety was a concern. The water area is my personal favorite but my kids may tell you their favorite is something else ;-)
