We really love this dance studio and it came highly recommended by friends. We drive 45 minutes because it’s worth it! They have a cafe to get snacks and sit. And they windows to watch your kids. My son loves the boys only dance class.

On professionalism I give them an 8 on dances I give them a 2 the dances are sloppy and seemed to be rushed and just thrown together. They kids act like they dont know what theyre doing but yet have had 6 months to prepare for the recital what have they been working on? They also charge tuition for the entire month of June and only had 1 class because recital is in the 2 week of the month. Driving to Ames Ia for the recital is ridiculous. Ive had 25 years of dance experience and Im so disappointed in this dance company, they have too much on their plates and should just focus on the competition teams, sadly we will not be returning next year.

So much to say about Ankeny Dance and Performing Arts Academy. We have been proud ADPAA parents for 11 years with two students taking classes and participating in their competition teams. We Love Ankeny Dance!! The staff is outstanding and for a studio this size they make every child feel special. They check the boxes on variety of dance styles to choose from, professionalism, instruction and friendliness but what I appreciate the most is their passion around dance and all performing arts. This studio cares about the art and understands anyone can teach dance but it takes a special set of individuals to inspire and instill a their passion for dance into their students. This place is a family to many of us. It speaks volumes that many of the current teachers are former students of ADPAA and I believe this trend will continue well into the future. I am personally aware of several students looking forward to continuing their dance and work in the performing arts well past graduating out of Ankeny Dance! Lastly Ill close with this, if you want to see well crafted, themed performance with incredible dancing, Ill see you at Stephens Auditorium, Ames, IA in June!!

Best Studio in the area! Really great opportunities. Nice people. Fun but you learn not just dance but character. Great Recital. Very entertaining. Great Competition team. Tried all other studios in the DSM area and this was by FAR THE BEST STUDIO. Great instructors. Ms. Sarah, Ms. Kym, Ms. Abbie, Ms. Taylor, Ms Shelly, Ms. Chloe, and all the other teachers are certified, kind, outstanding, loving, and fun teachers! If you come here you won’t regret. ADPAA is my 2nd family. Everyone there is a role model to me and has lead me to do great things. They have all dance genres and they have tumbling and vocal lessons too. Great Studio space as well. Great summer camps. Don’t waste a second to sign up. Spots are limited and your child will benefit.

Im giving them a one because of the fact they had dance recitals in Ames on Fathers Day this year.. All weekend... For a father who is has a horrible custody agreement as is this takes away from his special day to spend time with his children. I do hope in the future the planning is better as in not having it on Fathers Day. To all the dads out there you should feel outraged to have your day taken.

Amazing teachers and student teachers, great place for recital and i think watching your daughter on fauthers day is a great bonding experience where you get to see what your daughter loves doing
