Free admission and parking. Plan on 20 minutes to 1 hour max. There is no sign indicating the entrance / hours/ days. You enter through the painted, windowless double doors facing the parking lot. It does not look like an entrance - it looks like a warehouse or back door. Pull hard, the door sticks so youll think your at the wrong place. There is a side door with a doorbell: it is locked and nobody answers the bell. Once inside there are about 20 signs, some photos, and a handfull of artifacts. Upstairs are some quilts. The highlight is a model of how the building used to look.

I have a long love affair with the Brazoria County Historical Museum. It all started when the building was the Angleton Library. A truly magical place to roam the stacks for a bookworm. Flash ahead to now and the old Lady is getting a face lift. New paint and an elevator making the place even more fun. The museum changes out some of the exhibits 3 or 4 times a year. The local county history is a permanent exhibit from local Indians thru Steven Austins colony to the Texas Independence, civil war, WWII to now. There are author meet and greets, summer concerts on the lawn and the wonderful Austin Town reenactment in November. Come and visit the staff is warm and friendly!

Old building full of history. My only complaint is that there is so much more they could present historically and I feel like the current setup doesnt do it justice.

Very few people in this building. Possibly it because the displays have not changed for at least fifteen years.

Disappointed. The website said said the beginning of Texas, there was very little. It also said war history, there was a gas mask, torpedo and one thing of war history. I had my pregnant daughter in law with me spent more time waiting for her to go to the restroom.
