One of the better rec centers that ive been to. Clean, well maintained. Decent hours for a reasonable price.

I coach 10u softball and the younger umpires have no idea whats goin on. They allow other coaches to make up their own rules and cheat. The rules change every game and if u say something to them they look at u like u r the bad guy. They call strikes that r over the heads of the girls and in the dirt. Not consistent.

Great place to walk and exercise

This recreation center has great group fitness classes. The instructors are well knowledged in fitness and very good at teaching. The people that visit the Rec Center seem genuinely interested in wellness and have different levels of fitness. The equipment seems to be up to date and in good working condition. Staff is helpful and the prices are great!

The locker rooms suck. Tiny only two showers.

Only giving 3 stars due to them having no child care and no private room to have Zumba classes. I go to attend LaShaunas Zumba class there and its amazing, but Im sure Im not alone in wishing it could be in a more private area instead of out in the open in the gym.

This is a wonderful place to work on your health. The front desk staff could be more engaging. Its almost like if you arent familiar you are bothering them. They must be there just to observe the automatic check ins.

I only go here for my daughters softball games but the fields are always so neat and kept up as well as the stands!! Good job maintenance teams!

The Recreation Center offers a wide variety of exercise classes that fit the needs of a wide range of age groups. In addition, the exercise equipment is top of the line, clean and well maintained. There is virtually no Wait Times for the weight machines or free weights and the members are always willing to adjust their process to accommodate a working together atmosphere. I have been a member of various fitness centers since 1976 and nothing compares to the situation here. Considering the price paid it is an unbeatable bargain.

NOT family friendly.Pros:* Excellent value for clean, new facility with nice equipment.* There is not a wait except for particular times (9am) on specific machines (elliptical).* The equipment is separated into different groups of machines in different areas, so I don’t feel self conscious once I know what I’m doing.* Good classes with nice instructors. I went to a general fitness class that was perfectly challenging enough with aerobic and weights, but there were both easier and harder classes available. I also enjoyed the yoga.Cons:* Caters to an older age bracket, so that means:* Children basically aren’t allowed ANYwhere. They say they are family friendly, but kids are only allowed within hand holding distance on the track. They are not permitted to be in the workout rooms, courts or classrooms. They have a playground out back, but there are no activities to do nearby for adults, so it’s kind of either/or. So I’m confused why children as young as 4 need a $19/year membership to hold my hand and walk in a circle or play on the playground while I just sit and watch.* Hours kind of suck. Check out the class times before you enroll because they are super early (5:45) or a little late (8:30-9:30), with many being in the middle of the afternoon. A couple at night. Even with trying the morning classes, you wouldn’t go every day, like there aren’t currently morning classes on Tuesday and Thursday. So it makes for an inconvenient schedule if you work. Not open until 2 on Sunday, and not open very late even on weekdays.* Courts - If you’re planning on coming to play basketball or pickle ball, know that one court (the basketball one) is regularly reserved for the fire department in the mornings. Pickle ball is not available until 9am, and since there are only two, they fill up quickly (depending on the time).* No pool. The first pic is incorrect, the others are true. I think kids can sign up for swim lessons through the rec though and use the Y pool, but I’m not sure. But only for classes, if so.In general, I loved finding classes that worked, though we had difficulty scheduling. IF you can make it work with a job and kids, it IS the best deal in town, but just for you, not the family.

My grandson played basketball in Rec. Center league and I enjoyed going to the games there, I liked watching all teams play not just his. The coaches did a good job working with all the kids. Now my granddaughter has just started participating in the Volleyball league, this is the first time shes played in organized team sports. Her coach works very well with all of them no matter their skill levels. I liked that they have an elevator to use for the two levels in the facility. They have a variable amount of exercise equipment for use for all ages on the ground level. a mezzanine floor area for walking exercise on the ground level that goes all around and above the two gym court areas that are on the basement level.

The rec center is way more affordable than the Y, which is why we chose it. They offer a large variety of classes, and theyre all wonderful. Ive been to everything from strength training to yoga, and Ive never been disappointed. The weight rooms are on the small side, but theyre never full.

Has so much to offer kids and adults... Always classes for different things.. Beautiful soccer and baseball fields..

Was there to work with a catering company for a family reunion, the rec center people was helpful and friendly, also the gym was very nice with a upper running track and kids was playing basketball for hours.

The fields are very well kept and the seating is great. Unfortunately, there was almost a crowd sized fight. APD managed to de-escalate, but it was scary. Parents behaving badly.

Anderson city rec center does not have enough Handicap parking. I was there tonite to watch my grandson play, there was only one parking placeThere was a place that we could have parkedWe were told our car would be towedNo sign was there to indicate no parkingPoor situation, needs to be addressed

People where smoking all around the field. Very unpleasent for non smokers.

The lady running the counter was very rude.
