One of the most incredible places I have ever been asked to sing at is the Paramount theater in Anderson Indiana! The crowds were amazing at times! I had been asked there to sing probably about six times by my friend skip Ockoman when I was in Anderson Indiana! This theater is over 100 years old, and when you look up in the ceiling when youre in the audience it is absolutely phenomenal it looks like youre looking at the night sky with stars! I wish ceilings in my apartment looked like this! It was a phenomenal experience and Ive still got a CD from it! They will actually make you a CD of your performance and someone encouraged me to get one so I did get one! I havent watched it yet because thats not important to me right now during a pandemic! Helping homeless people is important right now to me!

I love the Paramount Theatre! It has been a staple to our community for many years. I am very grateful that my children and their friends are able to experience this marvelous venue for local high school Proms and other events. I have always loved The Paramount. Ive been to countless events here and never had any problems, though I dont know what issues you could really get into. My favorite thing is the ceiling inside. Its a beautiful sky that can be made night or day just by practical lighting. The interior as a whole is just stunning.

Restoration that is complete is very nice in common areas. But around the corner or on the way to restrooms there are pallets of supplies and unrestored walls and floors. Much work needs to be done to really claim the title of a restored historical icon.

This place is absolutely gorgeous. In town on a business trip with my girlfriend and as always, I research the town I am staying in so I can learn a bit of its history and perhaps explore some of the notable sights. During this I quickly feel in love with this theater so I made it a point for us to take a trip here. While photographing the outside of the theater, a nice gentleman who had been a twice retired band director got to talking to us and graciously got us inside to look around where we then met another pleasant gentleman, Jerry, who then gave us a grand tour complete with some historic facts. We saw the Grand Ballroom that was very spacious and perfect for events. It came complete with a small performance stage. The real gem is the inside of the theater. The ceiling painted with a night sky and complemented by blinking stars, surrounded by spanish inspired architecture made for a wonderful, almost spiritual feeling as the symphony practiced. Definitely the nicest historic theater I have ever visited. Alot of restoration and money was put into this theater and I was sad to witness and also have confirmed by the two gentleman that the surrounding area was not the best.I would like to thank these two men for their time and knowledge and it really made my night to be able to take this tour inside of the theater. Thank you to the both of you and I do hope I can return in the near future and enjoy a show here. I live three hours away so its not an easy trip. But I have my fingers crossed that I will return. This gem is clearly the anchor of the downtown and the city needs to do all they can to bring more business and events to the surrounding area and preserve the theatre right down the road and perhaps create an arts district. Your downtown has great potential.

The Paramount Theater located in Anderson is a beautiful venue that has been well maintained and preserved over the years. It hosts many different types of entertainment as well as many other events throughout the year. I always enjoy going here to see The Nutcracker Ballet each year. The performance is top notch along with the set decor and ballerinas ever changing costumes.

Review №69

This is truly one of the most beautiful theater venues in the midwest. It is truly amazing on the inside and has friendly staff. Like old theaters there is little leg room between seat rows so if you have a small bladder I would suggest getting tickets on the end row as getting up involves everyone getting up. Also the only improvement I would suggest is better environmental climate control. We were just there and it was a packed house in the middle of winter and it was so hot inside it became almost uncomfortable to enjoy the three hour show. Need to pump in some cool air once in a while to avoid the stagnation and make the audience comfortable. We were using our programs to fan and it should not be that way.

Went to watch The Nutcracker and it was so neat! I had a hard time finding what seat the kids and I were supposed to sit in because everywhere I thought I was supposed to be, someone was sitting in my seat. I asked for some assistance and they directed me in my correct spot. Needless to say, someone was in my seat and I didnt give a fuss cause I just had my youngest on my lap. This lady swore she was in her correct seat so I let it go. Overall, it was fun!
