This is a relatively easy climb, even in winter. Myself and 2 mates climbed it in December with literally no gear aside from snow-tight clothing. Proper gear would have made it a tad easier though. Great views of Knik Arm and Anchorage from the peak.

Great little hike with views of the Chugach range, downtown Anchorage, Cook Inlet, and Mt Denali on a good day

I would give this a 5 star but im a bit new to hiking and most reviews said this was easy.... yeah, not true at all. This hike is Moderate to Hard. I got 80% of the way but the rest you would probably have to rock climb up. lol im still really happy I got that far.. my sister got about 65% of the way. If youre not afraid of heights go for it or stop before the stairs. It was beautiful out and the scenery was absolutely gorgeous

Weather was beautiful. We hiked the back trail and it was not too difficult for our non-hiker group.

Great views, amazing hike! Its moderate at first, but difficult the closer you get to the end. Its tricky at the top with all the rocks- espically getting down and seems to get quite busy, but its an amazing hike.

Wow! What a hike! It was a bit more than we expected but we made it to the top!!

It was a long hike with my boys but the view was completely worth it! I just love having the American flag at the top as well, every time my boys saw that they said were getting closer and closer to the top

Gorgeous views after a treacherous scramble. Can only speak to my climb, but I liked that it was not too crowded going up or down (it was a Friday afternoon). Going down took more time than going up since being aware of the heights meant I fear-scooted my way down instead of walking.

Gorgeous views in all directions. Denali was visible from the top. Backside climb is definitely the way to go, much more of a forgiving climb.
