Played both rooms at Escape Anacortes. Both were very fun with lots of puzzles to do! I have played quite a few rooms and these two were among the best of them. Highly recommend checking them out!

The staff was very pleasant and informative. The room was very clean and well thought out. We had 6 in our group and there was enough to keep us all busy. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Ive done both rooms, excited to see what theyre creating for their third room.

Definitely the best escape room we have been to!Thoughtful details throughout, created the perfect experience.The hostess did a wonderful job weaving a mysterious tale that really draws you into the story line (made even better by the fact that it is based on local Anacortes history!). Ambiance is never broken thanks to the clever delivery of clues (when needed). Great for couples, families, small groups or even as an office team building exercise.We will absolutely be back and attempt The Smuggler next time.Thank you for a great time!

It was so much fun! Went with a group of friends and had a blast, even though we didnt escape. No limit on clues, and our hint giver was the highlight of the room. He was hilarious! These people are wonderful! Definitely coming back!

If your on the fence, just go! You wont disappointed. Its really fun. (Even when you sign up with just you and one other person)

Really fun escape room with so many different kinds of puzzles and clues. The beginner room is still challenging and fun, even if you’ve previously done an escape room. The owner was also so nice, and set the perfect mood for playing. We will be practicing our skills to come back and try the harder room.

Our first time in an escape room, and we had a great time! 2 adults and 2 kids, 10 and 11. The puzzles were challenging yet solvable (with a little help occasionally), and the atmosphere successfully transported us to a different time. We definitely recommend Escape Anacortes!

Just went in with a group of 7 to nearly complete the more challenging room. We had a blast! The puzzles and gadgets throughout the room are unique and fun. Definitely had us scratching our heads throughout our hour. Really cool premise being based off of historical Anacortes figures. Staff was wonderful and encouraging. Would definitely recommend as a great group activity.

Great escape room! Was in Anacortes with a group of four for a weekend getaway and we did both themes on the same day and both were excellent! If you want to do both, I would recommend doing Violet first to get a feel for the design, but I really couldn’t choose between the two in regard to overall preference.Owners are some of the nicest, most welcoming business owners. We had a great chat before and after both rooms. Would for sure return whenever they get their third theme open!

These people are fantastic. It was my wifes birthday and they opened up on their day off, just to make sure all of us could make it. Very professional and clean environment. My wife and I never did an Escape room and now were hooked. Lots of neat surprises even in the beginner room. My wife loved it! Thank you so much for the great experience!

Weve done several escape rooms and this was one of the most fun and well done that weve been to! The owners were amazing, super friendly and made the experience that much better. Cant wait to go back and try the other room.

We came to do this with our adult kids who have done three or four others around Birmingham. This was our first Escape Room. Our kids said this was by far the best set up and most involved, difficult Escape Room of all they have done. The puzzles were good and kept us busy the whole time but it was great to be able to finish. We look forward to doing the other room in the future.As others have said the owners are very friendly and add greatly to a great experience.12-2018 update. We did the second room this year with our kids and it was also great fun. The puzzles are innovative and keep you thinking all the time. We were again happy to finish though we just barely made it. This 63 year old was pleased to be able to help by solving a couple of the puzzles!We are thrilled they are working on a third room that is to be done soon and look forward to doing that one. We can’t wait.

Great Team building activity for friends and family, Bryson was a great host. It may seem like its not going to be fun but of your family is competitive this is a challenge for you.!

The level of theming and detail in “The Smuggler” is absolutely fantastic- way beyond what you would expect to be in Anacortes. The staff is friendly and the room was just downright fun. Definitely recommend!

So Fun! We went w/ a group of 8 people for a birthday and the room/puzzles were fun for both the teenagers and adults. The staff was very nice/helpful and we will definitely be back soon to try the other room!

Great experience and fantastic esacpe masters. Hard but manageable puzzles. Would recommend to anyone who enjoys a challenge.

Really nice lady who cared very much that we got our education about Anacortes after we were done! I have been to other escape rooms in big cities, and I just thought the small town vibe was very pleasant. Very challenging, but beautiful to watch teenagers figure it out! A great family activity!

I took a group here for my birthday and we had a great time. I purposely selected a variety of knowledge and skill sets to approach the puzzles. My girlfriend noted that book smarts were not needed, just a willingness to think and combine clues. The lady that directed us, (I wish I caught her name!) gave us not so much clues as encouragement that we were on the right track. We did not finish in the allotted time but had fun none the less.One thing struck me as we ate dinner afterwards was that I could go back in a few months with a different group and do The Smuggler all over again! There was so much going on that no one person knew all the things being done. Sometimes I was finding items for others to combine and solve. Sometimes I was combining and solving other peoples puzzles.All in all a great experience and one I plan to repeat here and in other puzzle rooms. Thank you VERY much.

Very challenging and very thrilling! Went there with a group of my friends and we were able to beat it with only two Clues! My friends had gone to escape rooms before and they said that this one was a lot better than the one they had been to before. This was my first experience.

I had never heard of escape rooms until I went here for the first time. I LOVE mysteries and I was intrigued. The owners welcomed us with enthusiasm and some explanation. The mini trial was helpful and interesting to see how each person has their own sense of experience and knowledge to add to solving the room. I will definitely to back to try the other rooms when they are ready and highly recommend this one for any first timer OR seasoned escapee :) The room was a blast! Thank you Escape Anacortes!!

I had such a blast at my first time ever in an escape room. It totally surpassed my expectations! And the owners were the icing on top. What wonderful people to be running such an exciting place! So warm and welcoming. I cant wait to try the new rooms they are adding!

Went in with low-ish expectations, being a smaller town’s only escape room (that I know of), but my expectations were far exceeded! I was very impressed with both the quality of the puzzles themselves and the atmosphere created. Very much on par with rooms in Seattle. Highly recommend supporting this local company! You’ll have a blast doing it too.

The staff is incredibly welcoming and set the proper tone for a fun filled experience. This was my first experience with this sort of activity. Escape Anacortes sure set the bar high and have left me wanting for more.

This was my first time going to an Escape and it was EXTREMELY fun! I went with a group of five women. The clues were based on a story in the history of Anacortes...so clever! A fun, challenging game of the brains! Perfect as a party night out with friends! You dont have to be a Nancy Drew or a Hardy Boy to enjoy this challenge! The staff are wonderful too!

We had a blast. Fun way to spend a rainy afternoon. Also a good way to ignite a few unused brain cells!

Had a great time with our working crew. The family run business had great customer service and were a joy to talk with. None of us knew what to expect but we enjoyed the challenge. We didn’t escape in time but it was a great way to spend time together outside of the work place. I have done many escape rooms in Portland, Bellingham, and Vancouver. The smuggler room ranks in the top two rooms I have ever done. The quality of the atmosphere, the local flavor of the theme, and the variety of puzzles made it both challenging and fun. I highly recommend this as a fun experience for any group.

We went to Escape Anacortes for a company Christmas party (4 people, its a small company). We had a great time! There were several challenges, puzzles and riddles to solve. It was pretty challenging but we asked for a few clues along the way when we got stumped. They gave is clues without fully revealing the answers. We managed to escape with less than 5 minutes to spare. It was very fun and we look forward to coming back to the more advanced room. Thank you!

Located centrally behind Bobs Chowder House off Commercial Ave, Escape Anacortes is highlighted by a large, well-lit sign. Upon entering the establishment, my two friends and I were welcomed by the hospitable Givens family. After explaining the rules, they pointed us to a set of sample puzzles, similar to the ones we would be solving later. Once we successfully completed those, we were ready to start our adventure! As newbies to the concept of escape rooms, the sample puzzles were a crucial touch to understanding what wed encounter later on. Without giving away the details of the various challenges we encountered in the escape room itself, the escape room seamlessly integrated local Anacortes history, teamwork, critical thinking, and fun, all in the convenient span of an hour and a half. Although the suggested group size is four people, the puzzles themselves could conceivably be solved by an ambitious couple or a family of all ages. Escape Anacortes is the perfect day or nighttime excursion. An absolute must-see attraction for locals and vacationers who find themselves in Skagit County!
