Kristyn is the best! Its hard to find an artist with her style in Iowa. Inkblot in general has taken top notch measures to be as hygienic and safe as possible too which made me feel taken care of. Cant wait for my next tattoo there!

My first time here - LOVE the atmosphere and the open concept! I followed Henry from his previous shop to Inkblot and I am so glad I did! The owner of the shop is awesome and his feedback on my art was very appreciated! My first session with Henry was beyond my expectation! Henry took extra time, multiple sketches and tweaks later to make sure my addition to my half sleeve will fit just right! I appreciate his patience and creativity! I was introduced to Inkblot Studios by a fellow bartender/ mixologist; her sleeve was one of the most intricate, real, crisp, and clean pieces I have still to this day, ever seen. That was in 2014. Daniel is patient and creative which takes a rare yet respected personality to simultaneously possess such qualities. I am getting a very large tattoo done on my leg and I cannot believe the amazing work Daniel is doing. This will be my 4th Tattoo and it is by far the best one I have ever gotten anywhere. Ive worked with Daniel for the past 6 years or so. Amazing tattoo artist who only gets better and better. I am so pleased with all the art hes done on me. Hes so confident in what he does which makes me feel more comfortable to have him as my main tattoo artist. Whenever I want new art done, all I have to do is give him my ideas and he always knows what to come up with. Hes not selfish with his work so hes always open to do different things you would like, all done in a professional manner.

Amy is a phenomenal artist with great attention to detail. Just one look at her portfolio will show how much artistic ability she has. It is filled with great artwork and shows her consistency in line work when it comes to tattooing. I drove six hours to get work done from her and it was definitely worth it! She did excellent work. I get compliments on it and asked for referrals so much from strangers when my tattoo is showing that I probably should start carrying around her business card. I cant recommend her enough!

I have been going to see Daniel now for about three years. I always have a great time when I go there. We have done many consultations and he always follows through. Him and I are currently working on a 30+ hour tattoo and when this is finished we will move on to the next one. I recommend him to all my friends and will never go to another shop.

Dont be fooled by this newness of this shop, the caliber of work is excellent! Amy did a very fine line tattoo on my arm that healed cleanly and easily. Shes very personable with her clients and gives them the attention they deserve. This is a place Id recommend friends and family to.

Ive been going to Daniel for years. Hes an incredible artist and will definitely deliver on that front, but hes also just a cool dude, and will talk philosophy/religion/music/whatever with you while youre getting work done, if you want. You dont think that kind of thing matters in a tattoo artist until youve been bored and in pain for 4 hours being tattooed by anyone else, and then youre like... f**k that, Im going back to that guy Daniel because he does great work AND Id actually like to hang out with him for a few hours.

Daniel is an amazing artist and I chose to do work with him considering that the quality of his work is unlike what I have seen before. Very vibrant, realistic and high quality pieces overall. Daniel has done a few tattoos on me totaling almost 30+ hours of work and I am more than satisfied. He is very professional, yet fun, and hes a great guy to talk to(especially when youre sitting with him for 3-4 hours at a time). If you want to invest some serious time and money into an amazing work of art, then Inkblot Studio is the place to go.

Amy Jiao is an excellent tattoo artist. I have received several tattoos from her in Tucson, AZ. Amy is professional and always concerned for her clients comfort while tattooing. She gives great attention to detail when designing a tattoo. If you have an idea for a piece, Amy is very good at helping the idea come into existence and pays close attention to your overall desire in what you are looking for in a tattoo. She is also very careful with tattoo placement and works with you in figuring out where your tattoo will look best on your body. I would highly recommend Amy for her beautiful artistic and creative abilities, in addition to her kindness and genuine love for the art of tattooing. Love the work, environment,and Daniel is amazing!

I have two tattoos by Daniel--one that predates Inkblot, and one work-in-progress that has happened entirely in the new space. Neither are like anything Ive seen on anybody else. Daniel likes to consult well before a project begins, and he really listens, deeply, to my ideas. I feel like what Ive ended up with is pretty authentically me, but with an incredible artist driving the images, so they come out better than Id have been able to imagine on my own.

Talented, candid, professional, and cooperative.I have 60+ hours of work by Daniel, and my next appointment on the books. He redraws if he needs to, and he cares about getting it right. His line work is solid and his color and shading techniques are amazing.

Amy did a fantastic job on my tattoo. Her artistic ability maches her professionalism. I highly recommend her as an artist.

Inkblot studio is hands down the best tattoo shop in Ames. I came to Daniel for a cover up , and left with the most beautiful and unique tattoo. I never imagined I would be so lucky to have such a stunning work of art on me for the rest of my life. I have also met amy and she is also a phenomenal artist. I definitely plan on getting work by her as soon as possible. The atmosphere of the shop is down to earth and super customer oriented. These guys seem to go to painstaking lengths to make sure everyone that comes there leaves with there minds blown and an awesome tattoo that you will never grow tired of looking at. Ive had my thumbs and palm tattooed by Amy and have seen her perform with countless other clients as well. Amy can create a design in markers on your arm (shes a natural when it comes to freehand sleeves) and create a deign based off an idea. She is very good at listening to a clients request and can get to the core of what a customer is really asking for. Aside from creating great tattoo designs, her work heals well, too. Ames is lucky to have a great artist such as Amy Jiao.
