Prices are friendly to everyone, and with great greeters. The theater was a mess with popcorn scattered on the ground in the aisle. But loved watching Spiderman into the Spider-verse!

The popcorn was fresh. The seats were comfortable enough. Towne Cinemas is a small theatre playing second-showing movies for a discounted rate, so when considering that it was pretty good overall. I like that I didnt feel blasted out of my seat with the sound. The auditorium lights were dim the entire time - they were essentially not on before or after the theatre. I am not sure if it was a fluke today or it it is always that way.

One of a few dollar theaters remaining, this charming venue is a perfect location for a cheap date/family night to the movies. Granted, you get what you pay for, but coming here really gives you a small town feel. Id love to see more people come and the facilities able to be improved.

Prices were awesome but thats about the only positive. Theaters were dirty and it looked like it hadnt been cleaned in a week. It was really sticky and there was a lot of popcorn on the floor. The bathroom light didnt work and it was difficult to do my business. I would recommend it if you need a cheap place to watch an older movie but dont have high expectations.

This its a kid friendly, cheap movie theater. The kids love seeing movies on the big screen. I love that we can see a movie, get a popcorn and a few treats for about $10. The staff is always kind and helpful. Old facility but up kept, about what you would expect from a dollar movie theater.

Well its an old theater , but you get what you pay for , the kids had fun , its cheap , the cleanliness was ok it can be improved for sure , the popcorn tasted like it was a mix between new and leftover popcorn , the soda was pretty much colored water , the two stars is mainly for the price and friendly staff.

Most fun at the movies! It has its quirks, but everything is so cheap it was a blast! If you dont know, its called the Sticky Shoes because the floor is very soda sticky! But tickets are a great price and there usually isnt a whole lot of people. Great for getting popcorn combos and lots of candy without breaking bank!

Its a dollar theater. The seats are old, the floor is sticky. The bathrooms have cold water and stalls that close but dont necessarily lock. Everything is old. But the staff is friendly and it is a fun place to take kids. Nothing fancy. Good movies. Cheap treats. Well worth it for the price.... treats and movie for a family of 6 for under $30.

Love this little movie theater! Super cheap which allows my kids to each invite a friend or two without it getting expensive. I only wish they’d change the movies more often! Also it definitely lives up to its nick name “sticky foot/ sticky shoe”, but the kids don’t care and for being so cheap I don’t care and will still give it 5 stars!

If this place wasn’t so cheap I would have dropped it to a two star review. I mean, sure the tickets and concessions are affordable but c’mon the men’s bathroom didn’t even have a light! I had to do my business in the pitch dark! I also felt somewhat uneasy that when asked, the staff couldn’t say what their favorite movie was. This is a standard question in the industry and I just assumed that any self respecting cinema boy would have an answer.Overall, a good experience. I like calling it “Sticky Shoe” because it makes my shoes sticky!

I love the “sticky shoe,” and it’s perfect for taking kids to a movie without breaking the bank. However, the last several times I’ve gone it’s an absolute crapshoot as to whether or not they can actually get a movie to work. There always seems to be problems getting the movie to start. YOUR BUSINESS IS PLAYING MOVIES FOR PEOPLE, it should not be hard to figure out how to push the “play” button and actually get a movie to work. Seriously embarrassing, hopefully they can figure it out. Can you imagine going to McDonald’s, paying for a hamburger and then after 10 minutes they say “oh sorry, we can’t figure out how to turn our grill on.” Come on guys.

My wife, Jeni and I took our grandkids to the movies the other day to see the Lego 2 movie at Towne Cinemas.I must say, I was not so impressed. They have been a great theater and we should support them because they are local and in business that needs support from the locals to a local business. I do this whenever I can. However, I think they could have been cleaner. Its a big theater and my grandkids like to roam during the movie. Yeah, they are the next generation and have a ton of energy to burn off.I do congratulate them for their very inexpensive pricing of just $1.50 per person. We got popcorn and drinks and tickets all for under $10 and had a great time there. So, thank you Towne Cinemas... but please pick up the trash a bit better...

This is a great little 1.50 theater. The snacks are less expensive than a regular theater, so the kids enjoy that. It is pretty dirty, but I think only one person works there at a time. It has two screens, only. Our movie cut out twice during the show for about a minute each time. The sound kept going, but the screen was blank. The girl working there fixed it quickly, but I was glad it wasnt a movie I was dying to see.

This theater is more run-down than some of the others in the area, but it is still a local treasure. The price cant be beaten and they get most of the big movies eventually. If youre willing to wait a while to see a movie on the big screen, this theater is just the ticket!

Review №39

Look, it’s a dollar theater, so I guess you could say that “you get what you pay for.” However, this place honestly doesn’t even meet what I would consider to be a BASIC standard of cleanliness. Sticky floors (and seats), popcorn, candy, and garbage strewn throughout the theater, and little puddles of unidentifiable liquid trickling down under the seats from a drink spilled many moons ago are among the hallmarks of this place. Sure it’s cheap, but having your toddler step in the aforementioned mysterious river of liquid which seemed to be emanating from the back of the INCREDIBLY dark theater is enough to dissuade myself and my family from ever returning. Go to the water gardens in PG, the Megaplex in Geneva, or literally any other movie theater in the entire state of Utah because they will, without a doubt, be better than this place.

Towne cinemas-a defining historic american fork tradition. First the ticket box was broken. I approached with the intent to purchase the tickets, unfortunately the ticket boy was unable to hear me regardless of me getting very close to the speaker and raising my voice. Why was he in there if it wasnt working? I didnt get to ask so I guess well never know. The popcorn process was straightforward, unlike my ticket buying experience. If youve never been to a theater, it is standard for movies to begin 10-15 minutes past the expected start time. This was the case, and the movie started exactly at 910 which is one of my favorite numbers. Chairs arent comfy enough to fall asleep, what a blessing!

The price was amazing, but I would have been ready to spend twice as much for a decent space. It smells vaguely of throw-up and strongly of old popcorn and I will have to clean my shoes from the stickiness all over the ground. We made the mistake of turning our phone flashlights on to find a clean spot and the only spots not littered in soda, candy, and popcorn were in the very back. And they were still sticky. I hope they clean it up and also update the projector a bit. Maybe turn up the volume. I see how it appeals to some families... but wouldnt a clean place be appealing, too?

Affordable, quaint, just like the cinema around the corner when I was a kid. The popcorn is affordable, and the projection/sound quality is good. Its got cement floors in the theater rooms, which are often a little sticky, but to me its just adding to the quaint experience. I think its owned and run by a small family, seeing as the box office is often run by a husband or wife--and their 3-year old.I love the family atmosphere, and I feel like its not embarrassing if my 5-year-old son spills his drink.Great place for young families, and those who like being around them.

The Sticky Shoe is an American Fork symbol and deserves a place among the historic places on Main Street. The movies are always light with at least one option for the kids. The concessions are well priced. This is one of the last dollar movies. They run a skeleton crew to keep prices low, but plenty of fun. One star off for being a sticky shoe in more than name only, but one star back for being one of the last vestiges of classic movie theaters. They share space with a functioning barber shop, for crying out loud! How cool is that?

Ive been to this theater twice now and both experiences have been terrible. The first time was with my wife and my two small children. Just as we were finally settled into our seats and through all of the trailers we see the opening sequence for the wrong movie begin. After some commotion of all of the other moviegoers asserting that this was in fact the wrong movie, we were told that we needed to switch theaters (not a happy proposition to a family with small children and (now) lots of refreshments). After switching theaters and settling in for the long haul with the correct movie on the screen, the screen blacks out, and a minute or so later the wrong movie comes on again and we are told to move theaters yet again. Once we finally get settled back into the original theater we started in the correct movie finally starts. At this point we should already 20 minutes into the movie, yet we are forced to watch with all of the trailers we have already seen all over again. The second time I visited this theater we planned our entire evening around being able to see a movie at 8:30 pm. Once we arrive at the theater we are told that if 50 people do not show up for the final showing that they do not show the movie. So our entire evening plans were ruined because they didnt want to have to keep a couple people on staff a few extra hours to play a movie they said they would play. Horrible business practice.I understand that this theater only charges a buck or so to see a movie so to tell them that they have lost my business is kind of silly; regardless, the fact remains. I will spend the extra couple of dollars to go somewhere that is run by professionals. The point of a night out is to enjoy yourself, and going to a movie at Towne Cinema can make it very difficult to do just that.

I have loved the sticky shoe for more than a decade. It is what it is - and Im at peace with that. I generally get the popcorn, and will pay for water cups at like $.15 a piece or something, overall worth it. Though its a little run down in parts, the sound and video quality is actually better than it used to be being all digital now. Sometimes I have to wait longer than other times for movies to arrive, however when they do, I generally do a happy dance, because there is something homey about heading down with the kiddos and the honey - for the magic of getting lost in the cinema.
